they have refunded me quickly so i suppose thats 1 good thing ,but after cancelling my flight 2 wks after booking it thats the least they can do , dont think i will use xl again after this experience, if i had booked accommodation to tie up with my flights i could have lost out as the new flights ive booked are 4 days earlier, but alt least ive saved £247 booking with fc

Don't expect to get your luggage on this flight......

They cannot take everyone's suitcase due to weight issue's my friend i travelled with did not get her suitcase along with 45 other people when arriving in Sharm they were sent via Gatwick and arrived next day, also arriving home into Cardiff last night 100 people did not get their suitcases including all 3 of us in my party again being sent via Gatwick and couriered to us we MAY get it on Tuesday or wednesday, i advise if travelling in groups that you spread your clothes across your suitcases so at least if one suitcase arrives at Sharm you have something to wear the next day, also we had holiday from hell, got broken into twice, that's another story !

Hi,
Just returned from two weeks in Moraira flying into Alicante with Excel. The flight out was bang on time, and the flight and cabin crew were great. although there was a three and a half hour delay coming back. The plane to make up the outbound sector of the flight had to divert to Prestwick due to fog at Glasgow and the passengers had to be bussed there from Glasgow. The flight catering which was waiting for the plane at Glasgow had to be left there, as due to crew working hours they couldn't wait for the fog to lift, fly to Glasgow, load up the catering, get to Alicante, turn round and back to Glasgow in time, so nothing to eat on the way home. The cabin crew were very apologetic, and handed out plenty of water to the passengers. This is the third time we've flown with Excel, and the first time we've had any problem, small as it was. I'll fly with Excel again next year if they fit into our holiday schedule. :D

My wife and my Excel.com flight was delayed for 8 hours (With a host of other complications too). Supposed to leave at 2035 and didnt get off the ground until nearky 0410am the following morning because they had a slight problem with a plane and ran out of spares and had to draft in some spare ageing hulk from somewhere godforsaken to help out! It was awful!!

I had misgivings about this airline to start with - I had booked through Teleticket with Astreus but the flight was changed to this one - much to my dismay. And I was certainly right to be dismayed!! The actual Cabin Crew were fine and helpful but the airline as an organisation - ha now theres a joke.

Steer clear of these clowns if I was you! Excel.com are god-awful in my opinion and I will never fly with them again. Ask anyone who had the misfortune to sit on flight XLA5141 Pafos to Gatwick today.

It didnt quite ruin my holiday but it was pretty close.

We just got from Skiathos flying with xl.com. We had a 2 1/2 hour delay coming back ( they gave us a free drink, anything you wanted other than champagne) apart from that the flights were very good. The seats were comfortable and the food as good as it gets on aircaft, the cabin staff were excellent and very friendly. You can only speak from personal experience so I would not have a problem flying with them again.

Just called Excel to find out why flights aren't available Glasgow to Dalaman next summer. Turns out they've did away with the route!

Please tell me I'm wrong, but it looks as though all the promotion codes for XL have all been reduced back to 5% - including the TESCO one :( :( :(

Anyone preordered extras and not got them ?

I ordered a bottle of champagne (£20) and extra leg room seats for our daughter and new hubby for todays flight to Tenerife from MCR.

They got the extra leg room but no bubbly (they didn't know they were getting the bubbly - it being a surprise and all that).

Chris

UPDATE - contacted them today (19Oct) and in conversation this appears to happen more often that it should.

Now the pain of getting my money back - but you can't initiate this on the phone (0870 number) oh no - has to be in writing etc etc - just another delaying tactic to stop them giving you your money back.

UPDATE - just returned from our flights (27Oct) to find having paid for food we didnt get it and some of the party who had prepaid for extra leg room seats didnt get theirs on the return although they got them outbound - this companies backoffice is a shambles.

Excel Airways and Airtours are two totally seperate entities, they have nothing to do with each other. Excel Airways are a schedule airline who also run sub-charters for tour companies. Airtours are part of the My Travel Group.

I stand corrected on that one Dazbo5.
I'm not sure which airline it will be yet as I have not received my flight details yet, which airlines fly on that day to Barbados ? I am going to Barbados to pick up the oceana for a 2 week cruise so I'm not sure it will be a schedule or a charter ?

any ideas?
