Hi dksbbs
We are booked to fly on XLA2076 MAN-DLM 21:15 and i have also noticed that it does seem to have been taken from the timetable and replaced with an earlier flight. If you recieve any feedback from XL regarding your emial, could you please post up the information please because if it has been changed then a few of us need to book an extra days holiday in work.
Thank you xxx
So i guess we will just have to book that extra days holiday in work just incase. We hope to hear some definite news soon.
Thanks for the update, I am also on the flight July 20th, I don't want to be transferred to the 07:00 flight though so hopefully will be in the 14:15
They confirmed it was their fault and apologised for the delay in resolving the query (nearly 4 months !) which was due to the 'high levels' of correspondence being received at their customer service office.
Guess we can all read into that what it really means!
Chris
You don't give any details but, from the complaints that I see on this forum against many different airlines and tour operators, I would call a payout within 4 months - of an amount that you seem happy with? - a good result!
I have received an email confirming my reservation on the 14:15 on the 20th July, it only took three emails, I have emailed them back and requested the official confirmation as per their booking conditions that any changes of more than 2 hours will be informed to us.
Also just checked the prices and the flight that cost us £952 for four is now showing as £1259 for the 14:15

Edited to correct typos
I booked a package holiday with Going Places at the beginning of this week to Turkey and have received the confirmation this morning telling me im flying with XL
To be honest after reading through this whole post im really worried now, although Dimries posts about flying with XL from NCL have made me feel a little better.
I was not told on booking who the flights were with and think that i should have been, i presumed they would have been with Airtours.
I hope i dont live to regret this
last month we went to Cyprus with them, they are rarely no better or worse than the the rest of the charter mob,,one of my favs is monarch yet they too get some heavy handed post on here
wizard
why worry
I know, its done now and im not going through all the hassle of changing my booking so looks like im stuck with them
Just have to keep my fingers crossed we are not delayed, get a half decent plane with tv etc... for the kids.
We recieved a letter of confirmation through the post on Friday to say that we also have been moved onto the 14:15 flight. We paid £777 for our flights, with £20 tesco discount code, and now they are priced at £990 so we still have a good saving.
The only thing i have noticed is that we have been moved onto a flight with the flight number ending in a "V" which means that they do not provide you with a meal but they will have snacks available to buy, we will just go prepared with a sandwich.
Lets hope it doesnt get changed again.
Thanks for the update, I have not had a letter yet, will leave it for a few days and will chase again.
Your prices are about the same as ours, I presume there are three of you.
You are correct that the flight codes now show we now have to pay for the meal, I may write and ask for a voucher to cover this as on the original flight the meal was incuded.
Dave
When we fly with excel,we have never paid for a meal but always get one.On one occassion there was not enough meals so my husband was give a complimentry drink and some pringles.
Xl have changed the way they operate, if it's a normal flight number you get a meal included, if the flight number ends with a V you can buy snacks and food on board during the flight.
Dave
ours is xla 4144 so should be ok for a meal, not really that bothered myself.
I flew to Tenerife last year with first choice..my motto now is "first choice last time" if Excel is bad they must be better than them.
nearly all short haul charter flights have [give or take] the same legroom
Oh Dear. We are supposed to be on the the XLA2076 MAN-DLM 21:15 flight, on 18th May. If the earlier flight doesn't have meals included my partner isn't going to be very happy. We have one 12 and one 23 year old kid looking forward to having their meal onboard. E-mailed XL but havn't had a reply yet. Surprise surprise !!!
xl flight codes ending in V do not have meals the others usualy do
Reading your post, you say that your flying Friday 18 May on the 21:15 pm flight, looking on the XL website, they have changed their fridays 21:15pm flight to an earlier time of 14:15 so it may be worth getting in touch with XL just to confirm as this is what has happened to us, we had booked to fly on Friday 20 July at 21:15 but has now been changed to 14:15pm, and also this earlier flight is classed as a low cost flight because the flight number now ends with a "V" which means there is no hot meal included.
It has also happened to another member here, dksbbs.
I get the front page up where the actual webpage is faint in the background and the little box with flags on saying "please choose your country" normally just clicking on UK or the union jack next to it brings the website up but for the last couple of days clicking on the flag has had no effect the page just refreshes itself back to the pop up saying "choose your country" starting to get really hacked off with it now
