Nice to know the beach in Tsilivi isn't too awful, not that I visit the beach that much on holiday but it's nice if it's half decent anyway!
As far as people not rating the beach highly is concerned, could someone just let me know exactly what it is that makes this beach a bit of a disappointment as I really don't know what to expect!
the Phoenix Beach Hotel is very nice lovely pool area, i stayed there in sep 05. The beach is very pebbly and had lots of rubbish on it. If you dont use the beach much it is not a problem. Personally i love going on the beach, two of the best ive been on are Playacar in Mexico and Fig Tree Bay in Cyprus.
We are looking to book Zante next year for a 2 week break. We are looking for a nice holiday a little lively but nothing major. The 2 places we have been looking at are Lagana and Kalamki, kalamki mainly for the nice beaches and turtles. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated - special best places to book hotel/apartments. Have looked on First Choice/Portland/Eclipse but not a lot of selection...
Thanks in advance
Lucy
Hi, Have a look also at Thomas Cook, Kosmar, Manos, Libra and Olympic Holidays. We went to Zante last year with Kosmar and my brother with Olympic. Cejay
Thank You Cejay
My favourite beaches have been Alikes/Alikanes on Zakynthos, Mounda beach on Kefalonia, and Long beach, near Kusadasi in Turkey, all lovely golden sand.
lagana is a big resort that is v lively and frequented by a lot of the younger end and if you are looking for that you will enjoy, kalamaki almost runs into laganas but is much quieter still it is a quick hop into laganas
We have booked Alykanas for 2 weeks next August. I have always wanted to vist Zante and finally persuaded hubby that it won't be like Blackpool (at least not in Alykanas I hope).
Depending on the time of year you wish to go laganas can be busy or it can be family oriantated.
July & august it is a bit more younger groups but at other times it is much the same as any other destination with a mixed age group.
There is always plenty of atmosphere without being boisterous or over the top and there are plenty of restaurants / tavernas and pubs for all ages.
If you can arrange your own flights (check Xcel.com - thomsonfly.com - first choice - direct holidays / airtours etc for flight only) the airport is only a short distance (15 min) from Laganas and doesn't cost much by taxi, approx 12 euros.
This property HERE is situated in a quite location on a rural road but not far from the resort centre. The accommodation is excellent and Tony & Effie will make you very welcome.
Further up on the same road is a restaurant called Acropolis this is an excellent restaurant and highly recommended and used by the locals.
