Try The Beer Kellar Restaurant near to the Moby Dick Also try The Shadow Bar, it is opposite the tall Hotel Dobrugha. Steffy's Bistro alongside the Hotel Dobrugha.

The resort is purpose built and well maintained. The resort and beach are cleaned daily. We did not really go into the resort centre at night so we can't coment on the entertainment.

We will be going again.

The resort of Albena is a purpose built resort from the 1970's. It is set in a nature reserve so be prepared to put up with lots of frogs and cricket choruses. The resort has one of the best beaches we have been on and lots of shops, resturants and bars to while away your stay, saying this the resort tends to wind down by midnight with only 2 bars staying open till 2am, this was a good point for us as it lends to a more family atmosphere. If you want 24hr partying go to Golden sands down the coast which is more like spain.
If you do go to Albena do go to Poco Loco where the food is excellent and the entertainment is outstanding.
Bulgaria on the whole is cheap with a pint costing around 50p (though I did find a bar selling it for 28p) and a 3 course meal setting you back a princely £3.00 approx.
There are more Germans and Eastern Europeans here than the British and as such a lot of the locals speak very good German but there English is improving.
We would not hesitate to return to Albena next year.

Beach cleaned evey day and lifeguards on patrol from 9 -6pm
Had to pay if you want sun sade etc on beach so take your own.
Entertainment was ok but mostly duos etc churning out backing type music.
If you walk around without female company you get approched by lots of prostitutes so beware!

The resort of Albena is both relaxing and lively depending on where you go and what you want from your holiday. There are bars all along the beach front which lead into the heart of the resort which is littered with bars/restaurants, gift shops, entertainers, fun rides, etc.
There are numerous massage huts along the way which cater for those who wish to be pampered. The beach is clean with lifeguards along the way. Albena is not over commercialised and enables you to see Bulgaria at its best. It is definitely a place worth visiting again and again.

The resort is small with only 1 main street, with the majority of bars, restuarants, and shops on it, but it is lively and you wont get mithered by owners, the taxi people can be tiresome (always asking where you are going and can they take you there). Not a huge amount of restuarants but enough to give you a choice, not many supermarkets, but lots of shoe shops, there is enough going on to keep you entertained, but not enough if you go there each evening. the beach is very good, lots of room and very hot, watch the sun !!! thou not much shade. If you have a room near the beach you'll be ok

We had no idea what to expect when we arrived as we had heard nothing of Bulgaria, we were delighted with the resort, it was just what we were looking for, easy going with things to do if you wanted. We took a taxi to Balchik one evening and had a meal there, which was different. Another day we took the taxi to Dobrich nothing much here, then the taxi driver took us to a hill location to eat where the locals eat, we had a real taste of the Bulgarian way, it was lovely.

The resort was quite small once you had been there a few times. The town centre was much of a muchness with nothing special to offer except great food and a warm welcome. The karaoke bars were fun. If these was any problems at all it was the prostitutes who were a thorough nusience if your husband/boyfriend was seen alone for a couple of seconds by them. Other than this a delightful little town.

We were very happy with it,not to big, a fare choice of bars, music bars and restaurants and shops or stalls, kept us amused for 2 weeks.

All seemed clean, lovely sandy beach, clean water most of time.

Would go back to that resort, if i went back, would love to take grandchildren there.

Safe beach, things for them to do. Not a lot but enough.
