On arriving at this hotel it was early in the morning and the reception area was fully staffed which meant a quick check in. Within a few minutes of arriving we were on our way to the room.

Our room was exactly what we expected.

The restaurant was also a very clean room with plenty of choice at every meal even for the kids.

Elenite itself is a quiet cove around the coast from sunny beach, it was not over populated infact the only local people in the location had to work there.

The pool and beach area again was immaculate with no concerns from us about our children's safety.

The local staff were extremely friendly and helpful most of them speaking broken English if your Bulgarian isn't up to scratch.

The holiday reps were second to none very friendly and full of information about the resort and Bulgaria, the kids reps were superb even out of work they had all the time in the world for the kids and nothing was ever to much trouble.

Entertainment with the resort was fantastic along with the Reps shows there is a local entertainment team who without a doubt provided some of the most memorable evenings of the holiday, with the all dancing, singing and comedy shows.

All in all we actually got a lot more out of this holiday than we ever expected.

Hi we enjoyed our stay at Royal Park Elenite in May and in July in 2005 going back in May 2006. If I did not like the place would not go back.

Very clean room, food got better with English chef. Hotel manager did listen to complaints and was sorted out in July one of the best hotels in Bulgaria.

Hi I worked in this hotel and I think the rooms are gorgeous they are all very big, and maybe there are a few problems that are gradually getting sorted and in a few years it will be perfect.

The rooms with the sea views are lovely get to watch the dolphins from the company of your own room, the rooms with the kids dens are amazing I would have loved to have something like that when I was little.

There are also plenty of trips with first choice you can go on I recommend the donkey safari I loved this trip I got dressed up as a traditional bulgarian lady.

The staff are all very pleasent and all try hard to speak english if you speak slowly and miss out words in your sentences they understand you and will always try there best to help you.

We could never of picked a worse hotel to go to the lights were hanging off, the food was un-cooked, the staff were extreamly ignorent and the was bird droppings all around the pool (the sea was warmer than the pool).

The hotel was gorgeous, so spacious, lovely and clean, you see the cleaners doing their rounds every day, our room was kept immaculate, clean sheets and towels were provided through out our stay.

The lads in the hotel lobby were so friendly and helpful, my daughter slipped and cut her toe, and one of the lads cleaned it and dressed it with no word of complaint,the staff behind the desk do speak very good English and will treat you with respect as long as you treat them the same way, they are human after all.

We had no problem with the food, it was very tasty, and not cold, lots to choose from, my kids didn't complain about being hungry. The food and bars outside were fine well stocked, and we didn't have to queue very often, bit busier in the evening, but that's to be expected.

As for the location, what can I say, excellent. My kids were able to go anywhere and always return safely, and being a parent that so important.

The entertainment was good, apart from bingo,(but thats just me, i don't like bingo) plenty others did.

We are going to go back next year but would like 10/14 days, we had a brilliant time and would like to thank the travel company as they changed our original holiday due to health and safety, and they put us to the Royal Park.

So what can I say that hasn't already been said. Firstly, I'd like to say that most of the people that where complaining did have something genuine to complain about. Sometimes.

Appearance.

The hotel is absolutely lovely when you drive up to it but as you get closer you can tell that Bulgarian workmanship is nowhere near to the standard that we are used to. But that wasn't just down to the Royal Park so i'd say you'd have to live with that. Going from Elenite to sunny Beach you can tell that the Bulgarian 'construction' methods are a little different to our own.


Our room was on the 7th floor and we had a lovely view of the beach and the room was spacious enough for the two of us. The cleaner cleaned our room every day bar one when she explained that she wouldn't be here because it was someones birthday.

Our air con did work and no sockets where hanging out but I don't know if that was the case for everyone else.


The lobby/reception is probably one of the nicest that I have seen and the balcony that leads from it gives you a really good view of the pool,beach and sea.


The dining area was a little cramped and some of the things could have been placed a little differently i.e. the bread somewhere near the soup.

The pool looks fantastic but I warn you that its one of the coldest I've ever been in but there are four in total that you can use.

The beach was lovely and this is where we spent most of our time. The sea was roasting and relatively clean but any rubbish there was down to our own lazy people just leaving it so what do you expect?

Food and Drink.

This was probably the major complaint for most people but I can safely say that from our party there was none. Most of the complaints I was hearing was because there wern't enough chips or burgers for the kids. Why not try them on something different and healthy? There was enough salad,soup,ice-cream and main courses to feed an army and I had no complaints about anything and this was the one thing I was worried about because I had only just recovered from a serious stomach complaint. I think it was down to what you expect. When I go to a foreign country I try to sample different things but then not everyone does so thats probably a thing you would have to consider.


The beer is plentiful but you are limited to two drinks at a time. This is usually at the bar-mans discretion and only enforced if its busy. That brings me to my only real complaint about the holiday. Queues. There are not enough bar-staff and there are enough ignorant people - British mainly, who will try and get served first rather than queue like the majority of people. That was my only real complaint.

Entertainment

Good mainly. The FC reps around the pool tried to keep everyone entertained and there are enough games and sports to keep you occupied. We mainly stayed on the beach where there are plenty of watersports to be tried.

The animation team put on a good show at night which was firstly for the kids (although it is in German) and then for the adults. (Bi-lingual) There was only one show that I didn't enjoy.


I mainly had a good holiday even after reading all the bad reports before leaving. We all went to enjoy ourselves and that is what we did. I'm not saying other people didn't have anything to complain about but that is the view we took.

If you like British, stay in Britain, if you'd like try something different then try Bulgaria.

After reading reports on this site, we too were very wary of what we would find. Everyone who has complained that this hotel does not meet with British Standards is quite correct. However, this hotel is in Bulgaria and it does meet their standards. If you want a hotel to British requirements, stay in the UK and don't expect to get one for

The hotel was impressive, the rooms were also impressive, we were on the 8th floor in connecting rooms 884 and 882 with a fantastic view of the complex, beach and the sea.

The hotel was very clean although the amount of dimps put out on the new carpet and left by the holiday makers made you feel ashamed.

The food seemed to go down hill rapidly after the first week which wasn't great to start with, the crockery in the Bulgarian restaurant was appalling and we were just looking at each other and thinking oh my god!

The Bulgarian BBQ at the shack was by far the worst thing I have ever had on my plate. I wouldn't feed anything like that to my dog, and it looked like any left over food from the canteen was just BBQ'd up the night after.

The staff were miserable behind all the bars and only ever had a smile on there faces when you put some lev in the tip glass, as if we hadn't paid enough already.

For entertainment take some playing cards with you or plenty of taxi money.

Arrived on the Monday afternoon expecting a nightmare fortnight after reading previous reports on this site!

I'm pleased to say we had a ball. The hotel was clean enough and very impressive to look at, the cleaner came in daily with a smile on her face, towels changed daily and bed linen every other day, the entertainment lacked slightly, but regardless of where you are, if you

Again, very worried after reading all the reports, but I have had a fantastic holiday.

The hotel is great, not a 5* in Dubai or anything, but really really good for a relaxing, or family orientated holiday.

We had some problems, and I went to see the reps. Ian and Jason were on duty and they could not have been more helpful. They came to the room to check the problem, and within 20 minutes we had another room allocated to us, with sea view and a basket of fruit to apologise. These two became our mates throughout the holiday and we are really grateful. All the reps though were great. Never met a team of such hard working staff.

The kid's loved mini disco every night in the Irish bar, and Jumpin' Jules was excellent, all the kids loved him. Likewise the entertainers were brilliant, and did a great job in difficult circumstances.

The hotel was clean, the food was enjoyable and the beer kept on flowing!
