All inclusive was first time for us. But well worth its money. Never did we go hungry, there was always enough food both hot and cold, the kids loved to be able to go and get hot dogs, pizza, drinks themselves. Can

There was four adults in our party, all in our early 50's, and were all very surprised by the Hotel, after reading a few of the horror stories, about the Royal Park

We had two rooms, facing the sea and pools etc., which were spotless, towels were changed everyday, beds every three days.

Food was o.k., always got something to eat, you have to remember you are not at home.

Hotel could have been done with more entertainment in the evening. Also an adults only room, entertainment by the animation team was great, First Choice had their entertaiment in the "Irish Bar", in the evenings, because of the cold nights, which we found to be very stuffy and always packed. A lot of people sat in the Reception area in the evenings, had a game of cards, dominoes etc.

The only complaint we had about the Hotel was that we were on the third floor and heard the people moving chairs in reception in the evenings and the staff putting them back about midnight, people on forth floor do not hear this. Other than that no complaints.

After reading the horror stories posted earlier in the summer we were somewhat reluctant to go to this hotel. Having only returned this week to then see the Holiday Package uncovered story about the Royal Park I was glad I had not seen this before our arrival!

However sll in all I accept there were obviously serious issues when it first opened but most of these seem to be resolved. The staff at the hotel were not rude at all and could not do enough for us. There all attempt to speak english and some are very fluent. The place is constantly kept clean.

We were provided with fresh towels daily and in the 2 weeks our sheets werre changes at least 5 times. The food whilst not always the hottest was plentiful and so much choice available. At least 3 or 4 choices of main each lunch and dinner with loads of fresh fruit and salad always available.

People than have previously moaned about the non suitable food need to learn that there is more to any diet that Chips!! Apart from certian people acting like complete vultures when chips were produced the system for food service worked well and we rarely queued.

My only complaint and it isn't about the hotel is the complete lack of control and rep presence at the airport when we were departing and it was chaos getting through to passprt control - it took us almost 2 hours to go about 10 feet and as a result we almost missed our flight!

We visited this hotel with an open mind and thoroughly enjoyed our first week yes there was minor repairs still needed and perhaps a lorry load more of towels and bedding required but did not let this spoil the holiday. During the 2nd week their was a storm and the story changed. Rooms flooded filthy floors toilets that were not hygenic faeces and urine all over floors. Cutlery dirty, power cuts exposed wires large holes in the flooring and tiles appearing but worst of all was the food poisoning from the restaurant, syringe needles on the floors. Positive was the beach very beautiful but not enough for me or my family to ever visit this hotel again.

Upon arrival at this hotel we were all impressed at the grandeur of it, but we did arrive late at night. The first impression was definately wow... Until we checked into our room that is.

We realised that we only had 3 pillows between four of us and that we had no safety deposit box or Sea View that had been requested. I went to reception to speak to the reps, but there were none available until the morning, reception told me that they would fit the safety deposit box in the morning, we could not have a sea view as there were no more rooms available and there were no more pillows! The reps could do nothing to help in the morning, but I think this was the lack of co-operation from the hotel staff.

We then had a terrible thunder storm and everything seemed to be flooding, everywhere had a strong smell of sewage and damp, there was a lot of mould appearing around the arcade area. The marble flooring is all breaking up and its very easy to trip on this.

We never received our safety deposit box nor our extra pillow!. We are just glad that we were only there for a week.

The food in the hotel restaurant was awful, it was cold, it looked unappertising and smelt worse. We lived off of stale hot dogs and pizza, although the Talyana restaurant was quite enjoyable. The entertainment staff did work very hard and they are very good at their job.

The cleaners used my husbands T shirt to clean something (not sure what) and we were told by another guest that their toothbrush had been used to clean out their coffee cups.

A lot of people were suffering from sickness and diarrohea, luckily we did not although on day 1 of return our daughter is on anti biotics for some kind of virus she has picked up, I think due to the dampness in the place.

My opinion is if you go to Bulgaria do not go to this hotel. All the people we travelled back on the plane with were going to complain, so this is not just our opinion. The list is endless there is so much more we could tell you.

We arrived on 2 August and were very pleased when we s due to the earlier reports on this hotel. We were allocated a room on the fourth floor and were really lucky as we were giving clean towels every day and our cleaner was very friendly and are room kept tidy.
The food was fine, however, it would of been a lot healthier if all guest used the tongs etc provided to get rolls and not handled the food with their hands as was witnessed every day at every meal. People would pick up rolls and feel several before choosing. Kids also did not cover their mouths when sneezing and coughing etc near the food, so I do not feel the restaurant can be blamed for all the stomach problems, which we were fortunate to avoid.
The Bulagarian Restaurant is very good and worth a visit!
The Hotel is right on a very nice beach and we were able to get sun beds each day.
The hotel staff were pleasant and if you smile and be polite to them it does help. Pavol at the pool bar has a permanent smile and very friendly.
The entertaiment was the only dissapointment. I have two children of 14 and 12 and they were fine on beach during the day doing watersports etc but not much going on in the evening apart from playing cards!

I am worried that people may find themselves in the same position as us and want anyone going here to read this carefully. Please - anyone reading this - this is the honest truth. This nightmare began once this Hotel opened, we regularly checked progress and feedback from guests who had been there, this is when our worry began. We acknowledged all concerns that people were experiencing and as this did not seem to be improving, we decided to approach our Travel Agent , several times by telephone and one month before travel, we visited the agent in person.

We booked this holiday as a once in a lifetime experience where a large party of friends and family would congregate in a purpose built Hotel which according to the brochure and Travel Agent appeared to cater for all of our preferences. When we showed concern to the Travel Agent and provided her with all feedback and photographic evidence which we had, we were ensured that all of these issues had now been resolved and that this was merely teething problems that any new Hotel has in the first few weeks of opening.

On the advice of our Travel Agent, we agreed to continue with our holiday, on the assurance that these issues no longer existed.

On arrival at the Royal Park Hotel, late at night, the Reception did as reported on the internet, look Grand. Once we received our room keys all members of the party retired to their rooms
Two rooms were finding it difficult to close their room doors, having to bang them with full force to do so, this in turn made other guests wake up and come to their doors to see what the commotion was. One of the party found that when they did get their door opened, they then could not get it locked. As they were two women with two small children they did not feel comfortable sleeping in a Hotel catering for so many people in a room that did not lock. One member of that party returned to Reception to inform them of this and to request another room, it was now 3am and the children were exhausted. They were told that another room would not be available until a further 1 and a

all i can say is that this was the worst holiday we have ever had.the food was cold, there wasnt a childrens choice.i suffered a bad stomach upset for 6 days.the staff were rude.the toilets by the the dining room always smelt of urine, the floor was always saturated and very slippy.there was signs of mould and damp in the arcade area due to the flooding that occured while we was there.the hotel is a 4 star so you expect to drink out of a glass, but instead you got a plastic cup from the bar.there wasnt much to do at night.the room was very basic, towels wasnt changed as often as they should of been.i did feel sorry for the reps though,no wonder they looked fed up due to the amount of complaints they were getting.i can definatley say we will not be returning.

We arrived early in the morning 02/08 and were very impressed by the entrance and reception areas, thats where our pleasure stopped, we checked into our room only to find no pillows, no sink/bath plug, no shower curtain, when we opened the balcony door there was no sea/pool view as requested in fact our balcony sat literally on top of the generators for the entire hotel air conditioning, I could not hear what the wife was saying ( so not all bad! )we went streight to reception to request a room change which at first was refused then when I asked to be transfered to another hotel they suddenly found another room.

the room was no better other than quieter, we had to get ask the maid every day for extra towels as there were four of us in one room and only two towels, we asked for the sheets to be changed daily and eventually after 10 days this was done, probably as I showed the the multitude of bed bug bites and the specimens I had captured in the bed.

the hotel was filthy, staff constantly mopping around dirty water, one day we found that the coffee cups we had left in our room for collection, had been cleaned using one of the childrens toothbrushes and left there.

the food in the hotel was digusting, cold, tasteless, unhygenic, I suffered from the second day until i got home with sickness and diarhoea,

the hotel staff were miserable most of the time probably due to the volume of complaints

on a positive, the first choice reps and their entertainment were the only thing to keep us going,

We have travelled all around the world all inclusive / full board / half board / self catering in some supposidly third world countries, I would clss this as a fifth world country.

I will only travel back to Bulgaria and this resort / Hotel in 30 years or so this should give them time to get their act together, in the mean time, Holiday operators should not be booking people into this hotel
at any discount!
