Lovely long clean beach.Large amount of night life, some extremely loud until the early hours! Many shops and stalls selling inflatables and very tacky gifts etc.
There are far too many flyers thrust upon you(rain forest full),however this is to be expected in a large purpose built tourist resort.
On the whole the resort is very clean and tidy with lots of night life, shops and amusements for children.

Lots of bars for both single people and families providing entertainment. Beach clean but have to use sunbeds and parasols.Resort was that good I have booked to go again next year but in a different hotel

Once you've done the noddy trains a couple of times, very limited.

There is plenty of places to eat which offer good food and many places would be more than helpful in getting food not on the menu for our 3 year old daughter. The beach was clean but the sea shelved rather quickly so we have to keep an eye on our daughter. There is a lovely pool, bar and excellent Mexican diner near the quieter end of the resort. Wandered up to the busier end (where Bonkers is) there are plenty of stalls to look through and bars so definatly one for people with older kids or none as the hill was quite steep with a pushchair & quite busy!

The resort itself was clean, lifeguards always on duty. Not much entertainment but we knew this before we went. The beach was clean and tidy, not very big but nonetheless adequate.Try the pizzas at the snack bar!!! Go and enjoy!!

Aside from the lovely beach (which, unfortunately, was very crowded), We found the resort itself very disappointing.
Apparently, it is aimed at couples and families. I disagree totally with this description. The resort was bursting at the seams with bars and restaurants playing extremely loud, repetitive 'rave' music. Also, every five seconds we were pestered with people pushing leaflets in our faces or hassling us to eat in their restaurant. There were also quite a few strip joints around.
We couldn't find any nice, quiet bars to sit in. The streets were extremely crowded at nights and we didn't feel very safe. Apparently, a few people were mugged while walking around.
I would say this resort is much more aimed at young people. Besides all of this, the weather was disappointing - cloudy and rainy.

Lots to do, and spoilt for choice as to where to eat. The restaurants are excellent and very cheap too. Too much choice for any to be really bad, so just go for it!
It can be a little , " in your face " as you are wandering around. People with flyers, and trying to get you in to their bars. Remember though, once you go in, you will be well looked after. They are really wanting your custome.
Oh! and watch out for the local prostitutes up and around Bonkers nightclub. If they see you with partners or kids however they will leave you alone, but single men beware!!
A simple " no thanks " will do, and there is no need to be nasty. Remember, this is a very poor country.
Beer is excellent and cheap too, aswell is the wine and spirits. Great resort!

We actually stayed outside the main Golden Sands resort, and the area round the Gardia Hotel is VERY quiet. There are some nice beach cafe bars, especially the Globus (nice Indonesian Shrimp!).
I would recommend taking a torch, as the walk back from the beach at night is not very well lit, and some of the roads leave a lot to be desired!!!
Golden Sands itself is very hussle and bustle. Be prepared to be approached with the intent on getting you into restaurants etc.
We never encountered nasty touts, you just need to say you've already eaten and they are fine. A good meal for 5, including drinks cost approx 100 lev, this is approx double what we paid for similar at the Gardia restaurant! Would definately recommend the waterpark (aqua polis) but be aware that price goes off height not age! (Still a good cheap day out).
There's lots of shops and stalls to get clothes bargins, but to be honest we didn't see too much else worth spending money on. There seemed to be plenty of water sport activities on offer as well.
Would definately recommend a visit to this resort. Oh and just to say, after worrying prior to our visit, we saw no problems with the 'ladies of the night'.

Just returned from our 3rd visit to Golden Sands in 4 yrs.
There has been a big increase in the number of hotels and english tourists to this resort, however I feel this has not benefited the area. Golden Sands has in my opinion become overdevelloped and is very much like Blackpool.
Beach very cramped, music very loud, flyers everywhere. There are much nicer resorts to visit on this coast - Albena is lovely, nice beach, shallow water.
St Konstantine is also great, however not many English tour operators sell in this resort.
