lots & lots of shops & stalls in golden sands but they all have the same things in. Lots of young people handing out leaflets all the time, but just say no unless you want free admission to the clubs which some of us did, main stretch does become a red light district late at night but they didnt bother men with wives & children.
Take some extra money for your portrait some of the artist are brilliant but quite expensive but worth the money.

The resort itself was brilliant. Loads of shops and resteraunts with really good prices. We tried to eat at typically bulgarian places, which was lovely. The beer was great, and the food was really nice. And the entertainment! i found myself being forced to get up and dance on stage countless times, which was amazing, although you've got to have guts!
The beach itself was nice, no complaints. And there is a little train which takes you from one end of the seafront to the other, even in the evening, which is fab if you dont fancy walking in the heat.
Loved it.

It is a fair trek to the beach not ideal for families with young children or anyone with mobility problems .

We did not mind the walk ,we enjoy walking. It helped burn off the beer and food.On the resort there are lots of bars and restaurants many of them serving really tasty food.We made a lot of friends there in 2004 and everyone made us welcome and could not do enough for us .

The buses and taxis were very cheap , we used taxis quite a lot to go to Golden Sands and ST Konstantin and Kronovor. The boys got taxis back to the hotel at 6 in the morning from the nightclubs the taxi drivers were very reliable and friendly, we used the taxi driver all the holiday.

We are going to Bulgaria again this year it will be our sixth time, we absoloutely love Bulgaria and would recommend it to anyone.

The country and the people are wonderful.

Beach was the only good thing about this holiday, but would not be suitable for young children. The waves in the sea absolutely flung you about! Ladies of the night who stood in the middle of the shopping streets approached our husbands touting for business. Child beggars were running around begging for money and then later in the evening you would see the same children with top of the range mobile phones. Entertainment in the bars terrible - organists playing and singing country and western. The most scary part of the evening was needing the toilet. Toilets were located usually behind the bars or down secluded scary alleys. You were also charged half a lev to spend a penny.

We did however go on a great boat trip to a secluded beach on Golden Sands. The captain of the boat was called Chris and he had us in stitches from start to finish of the trip. However he did get us worried when he started drinking alcohol at the beginning of the trip (9.30am!).

Definitely would not return to anywhere in Bulgaria for a very long time.

So glad i chose GS, it was perfect for me and my boyfriend. Not all romantic and quiet. It had something for everyone. Little clothes and jewllery stands. Loads of fantastic restaurants, only to willing to invite you in. The bars are fantastic too, definetly go it cocktail bars. Angels is the best! the clubs are good, you will get bombarded with flyers and free entry and free drinks so you can try around to find the place for you. Most 24 hours and for all ages.

The resort was very clean, you never saw rubbish on the floor or in the street. the people are very polite. As is the beach. it is clean and nice. only problem 6 lv for each sun bed and 6 lv for umbrella. If you are only there for a little bit just lay on towels in between umbrellas and you don't pay. Loads of beach service, like drinks, ice cream, fresh fruit. Lots of water sports.

Want to go back Now please!

Been going to Golden sands since 1994 have seen lots of changes some good some not good. The cleanliness of the resort has fallen as there is a lot of rubbish lying every where and lots of broken beer bottles.

The beach is still spotless. There are now lots of clubs, casinos and discos. Also more beggers and ladies of the night, which is getting worse and children begging for money.

This used to be a family resort, but it is getting more for the young people with so many disco and karaoke clubs So for us it is to noisy, will have to look for a quiter resort probably Albena.

Just returned, resort a bit tacky lots of continentals very few British. Sunbeds a rip off, we were there for 1 week and it cost £100 for 5 people. There is one street called party street, loud music is played until 5am, there are lots of drunk young people, we named it mini Ibiza, avoid it like the plague if you don't like tack. The food was diabolical, 2 days into the holiday my husband and I got food poisoning from a dodgy steak, havent eaten now for over a week, just got back and been diagnosed with salmonella. Never ever return, one word tacky!
