Resort wasn't that clean. Rubbish were everywhere. Maybe it's part of theyre culture, that tehy aren't so interested about cleaning.

In Golden Sands there were plenty of discos. For exemple Bonkers.

I loved the beach. It was long and probably the only place that was clean.

I would go there again..

The White Lagoon is about 20 minutes from Albena and belongs to Albena (not Golden Sands). There was a small beach with grainy sand. There was sewage running directly into sea and lots of sea weed on the left side of teh artificial sea breaks. Many local used the mud from the botttom of the sea as mudbaths ( we declined). The resort is very quiet. there were no water sports as advertised on the beach directly in front of the white Lagoon but a small walk away on the neighbouring beach there was some activites available though no one spoke english as this beach was geared for the Russian market. The sea was clear with many weekend locals using the resort for fishing etc.

Busy resort, with excellent amentities for children at a cost. Plently of places to eat and drink though entertainment is mainly pub singers/ duos.

The beach is beautiful and cleaned everyday, but in the evenings it can be messy due to the tourists leaving thier rubbish from the day. The sea is quite warm and clean and you might see seahorses swimming about if you are lucky! There is a few small jelly fish but apparently there sting is extremely weak and just feels like you have been pinched lightly.

The ladies of the night can be a problem but they stay along one stretch of road that can easily be avoided. Many hotels refuse to let them into the hotels or if they are with a customer follow them to the room and stand outside it untill they leave, the majority of hotels dislike them as it upsets the guests.

Flyers can be annoying so refuse to take them be polite and you have no problems.

Most of the food is similar in the resort so ask others were they reccommend.

Cocktail 101 on the beach front opposite the casino does the best cocktails.

We stayed at Golden Sands which was a lovely resort, plenty to do day and night, for both adults and children. It was very clean. We would recommend the resort but definately not the hotel Warshawa, (Spelt Varshava in the Balkan Holiday Brochure) if we'd of stayed at the Hotel Admiral I think we would have had a first class holiday.

This was our first visit to Golden Sands and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was clean, not too busy, even though it was the height of the season. Eating out was not a problem. We did not have one bad meal in the two week we were there (we ate out twice a day, every day!). We have a few places to recommend for eating out - firstly, our favourite - Mama Mia's Steakhouse. They were fantastic. The steaks were 16oz, flambed in peppercorn sauce and vodka. The cost? Around £6.00! And not a bit of waste on them. There are two sides to Mama Mia's. If you do go, we recommend you ask for Ali Baba. He was great, and cooked your steaks in front of you. Really worthwhile going. We also recommend the Amphora, as well as Mambo. There was also a good Chinese restaurant - the Shang Hai. There's a great waterpark as well. The beach is lovely. I believe the prices in Golden Sands have gone up slightly, but they are still cheap in comparison. We would love to go back to Golden Sands and recommend it.

Beaches very nice / clean and lifeguarded.

Resort not as tacky as spanish resorts, plenty of people trying to grab you into bars / restaurants. Felt safe whole time there, however food quality in resort not fantastic.

The resort of Golden sands is lovely with plenty of eating places and lots of shops and stalls. The beach is clean and has lovely sand with no shortage of loungers rented for a low daily price. There is lots of bars and resturants with live entertainment and the kids are always welcome.

Lively resort. Entertainment for nearly all tastes. Lots of Karaoke Bars/Disco's etc.
Beech nice, but very, very dear for parasol and sun loungers compared with everything else. ie 21lva for 2 loungers when a beer costs 2lv. Watersports available - but watch out for jetski's. The concept of not using jetski's closely inland {20m}where people are swimming has not caught on yet. Resort very nice and compact but can see it exploding in a couple of years.

Fab Place. I couldnt believe how commercialised it is. Loads of shops selling fake gear, loads of bars with live bands and singers, a couple of nightclubs, a couple of casinos, a HUGE clean beach with warm sea and watersports. Friendly people and above all a great time. Mini train that runs the whole stretch of resort is cheap and fun (even if it is a blood bath to get on the thing when it stops!).
The negatives? Dont be fooled by weather, it is not as hot as borchures make out, average for us was 26c in August and the odd Thunderstorm but no one can help the weather. If you eat out dont be too adventurous, stick to good old steak and chips and you cant go wrong - Go to Mama Mias, it is good (we had a "Mexican" meal one night - it was awful!)Took trip to Varna - nice city and worth watching the dolphins aswell. Go now before it gets like its neighbour, Sunny Beach (which is now very commercialised according to our reps!). If you want a good hotel try the Iberostar Obzor/Izgrev - see my review on this too!

Golden Sands was a lot busier than we thought it would be. It was very clean and there were plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. There were plenty of water slides and pools you could choose from during the day. For the kids there were dodgems, motorized cars, water boat, and many things you find at any seaside resort at home. There were also go-karts and an aquapark that you could access via a local mini bus service. Overall it was an excellent resort with something for everyone!
