We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

sunny beach was great, one of the best cleanest beaches we have ever been on,sunbeds were a bit pricey but we found a nice area where you can put beachmats and towels down.the sea was lovely you can walk out 50 metres and still be up to your knees.entertainment was really good, live music in most bars and resterants.hope to return soon

Our 1st visit to Bulgaria, and Sunny Beach, and contrary to any earlier reports, I did not find the resort over run with Beggars or Hookers, there are a lot of "Sex Shops"and "Erotic Bars" but you don't have to go in them!!, plus we lived in Germany for 10 years so no real change there! . We did have a little rain, but showers generally lasting 10 minutes then back to the sun loungers! Some attention is required to kerbs and pavements as people who are not as sure footed as I could have problems, especially with the excessively high kerbs. The beach is clean in the morning, and due to people not taking there litter away gets a bit messy by nightfall. Bins around the main promenade and "Flower Street", "Party Square" area, tend to be overflowing in the afternoon and evening but in the morning all is clean again. Entertainment-wise, we had a few sessions at Central Bar(V friendly Staff) and Funny Pub (PR Guy has a shirt from every premiership Team, and most of lower leagues), due to their live bands "Jimmi's Blues Band"? (Cream,Hendrix,Floyd covers)at Central Bar and "Step By Step" (Female Lead singer, Pink, Tina, etc and some Rock Standards)you can still find a pint of Lager under a Lev (0.98!)if you look around, some bars / Restaurants are 1 - 1.50Lev but in general it's about 2.50-3.50 (1/2 price of UK). "Glass of white wine / Fruit based drink for the lady"!! BOGOF in many places on BG spirits with mixer or Cocktails,So 6 -10 Lev for Me and the wife! "Happy Hour" extends to 24 hrs in some of the bars, as a lot are 24hr, as are the supermarkets for a can or two for the hotel fridge (There's a big Supermarket called Janet on the outskirts on the route to and from the airport, where a 1lt bottle of Savoy Vodka with free glass!, is 9.34 compared to 7.50 in the corner shops for a 500ml one (guzzomies!) and 500ml cans of beer 69-1.20, or if you don't walk as far as me, "Penny Market" by the "Nessebar Roundabout with the Obelisk) also sell much cheaper than the corner shops.(There is a "Real LIDL" but it's 3.5km after the roundabout.)Incidentally I bet ALDI don't know they have branches in Sunny Beach, as apart from the sign, they are the same as any other corner supermarket!! I'm not a Clubber (Hence the liking of Cream and Hendrix Covers!!) but well known Club nights at the many clubs, BCM, Twice as Nice,Ministry Of Sound, etc are in abundance, Basshunter put in an appearance at the Danish Club "Den Glade Viking" last Tuesday!! Food reasonably priced, still cheaper than UK, if you keep off the steak you can still get a meal for two with a couple of pints / Spirit mixers for around 40 lev, if you go for pasta or Pizza, cheaper again. (Special on Pepper Ctek (Really!)at July's Restaurant 18.99 Lev and it's Fillet, V tender) "Forest Hut" 3" Pork loin dice on the Shaslik with Red & Green Paprika & Sweetcorn sauce was really good. Give the Local spirit Rakia a try, it's not aniseed based like Turkish Raki, more of a Bosnian Slivovitz style, neat with a couple of ice cubes ! I brought a bottle back (6.50 Penny Market!!) We'll definitely be back before they join the Euro properly and the prices rocket!!

I visited in late May when most businesses are getting ready for the season. Even so most attractions were operating but there was a fair bit of litter and rubble around. You need to follow Alfred Wainrights advice at all times and watch where you put your feet. Large holes in pavements and roads are common here, also the popular local practice of leaving rawl bolts sticking out of the pavement a couple of inches when a stall is removed, presents a serious hazard especially to those in open toed sandles. But these are minor gripes. This place has all the amenites a tourist might want and if you hanker for a slower pace you can vist the ancient towns of Nessebar or Sozopl. I have hollidayed here 11 times both as part of a family and latterly as a singleton. I would recommend it unreservedly.

Been Bulgaria 6 times now, tired of it now, do enjoy the beach, everybody used to be so friendly but now a lot of the locals seem miserable and don't smile any more.

the resort of sunny beach is a drinkers paradice. there are plenty of bars and restraunts with loads of different themes. the drink is very cheap but some of the cocktails leave you wondering if they forgot to put in the alcohol!!!! there is not a lot for children so i would not recommend here for familys. there are loads of shops but all them seem to sell the same junk. we found it very hard to find good souveniers or presents for family back home. during the day there is not much to do. you could see it all in 2 or 3 days although falcon do have a good selection of trips to choose from and the beachs are kept very clean. just be careful of the jelly fish. the down side to the beach is the price of the sun loungers. £3.50 each and the same for the umbrella. this can work out at a lot if you want to go every day. the resort can be quite dirty in places but overall the standard is ok. much the same as at home so didnt bother us too much. just a few more pieces of advice,
#1. expect to pay for the toilet even in pubs and clubs.(25-50p) standards in these places are usually ok but the public ones are usually worse and stay away from any you dont have to pay for. these are usually filthy and have no paper.
#2. visit khanas tent if you can. its a great night out
#3. for any of you irish looking for a good irish bar i recommend daks just off the strip. avoid the harp. it claims to be irish but we went in one night and they were showing the english euro 2012 qualifer instead of the irish match

sunny beach for us was a bit too much like blackpool, its great if your 21 and with your mates, the stalls all sell the same stuff and the bars was all the same, food was hit and miss but very cheap, didn't find the locals very friendly at all we would definately not go back there. weather was poor 7 good days out of 14, very windy the flags was up for 3 days preventing anyone from going in the sea. there was quite alot of jelly fish in the sea and theres alot of sea weed washed up on the beach which could have been cleaned. theres also a nudist part which was abit embarrassing for my teenage daughter. nessebar is the nicest part of the beach but there are some cool beach bars further down in the day time. at night its pretty dull after the first few nights just more of the same, good food in maestro with excellent live music, also in d'jannys we thought the food was excellent and the decor classy food cheap shame the chef was smoking whilst cooking coz we thought we'd found the perfect place, we had a few chinese meals which was all very nice. the paving is all over the place difficult in heels or if you are un-steady on your feet. supermarkets are open till midnight but only sell basics take english tea bags if you like a decent brew and we craved bacon butties the whole time dont be fooled with english breakfasts theres nothing english about them! cash money at crown for best price 2.45 lev to £1.00, taxi's rip you off check price first they say 25 lev to nessbar but we got it down to 15 lev many times, fags are £20 for 200. red lion pub shows any football match you ask for and there is internet cafes everywhere. hope this helps!

The area where the apartment was was next to waste ground where the gypsies congragated. There was alot of rubbish lying around this location and when walking down to the main centre quite intimidating at night when approached by gypsie kids begging and their parents nearby watching.
