We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

Keep away please.

Plenty to do at night and we visited nearby Nessebur and St Vlas by the local bus (cost about 40p each). Lots of places to take the family or to enjoy a quiet drink.

This is my second visit and the resort itself does have some dark lit streets and can become littered but this generally is more toward the central strip where the majority of young folks go for the clubs and bar crawls so if thats your thing then this is the place to be. For a quieter holiday its best to stick to the edges of the resorts. Entertainement is fairly good with karaokes and several excursions plus the beach is clean and has several facilities on the beach front. You have to pay for the toilets in most places which is 50 stotinkis which can be annoying as rarely do you get this value in change so can be a minor annoyance although bar and restaurant customers can use theirs free. The tourists to Sunny Beach are a mix of Bulgarian, other Eastern Europeans, Russian, British, German and Scandivanian and this clash of cultures makes the holiday more enjoyable and I have met many new people from other countries just through chatting starting conversations. Overall good resort, with perhaps room to improve but this place is still growing popular and continuing to expand.

The resort is continually changing, we were particularly impressed with the new upgrade to the main bus station and the improved travel information regards destinations etc.
The broken pavements are still a cause for concern for both the young and the old. The amount of new bars on the main beach promenade, appears to have increased and so has the boom-boom music output from them, each one trying to out do the others in sound output and touting for customers.
The promenade is kept surprisingly clean, as is the beach.
There is still friction as to the charges for using the beach and where people who do not wish to hire parasols, loungers etc can sit. I must add we do not use the beach.
The entertainment is varied for all ages but the loud uncontrolled sound systems do tend to invade all parts, the young men and women do enjoy the attractions of the beach, main square and the night clubs and so they should ,they are on holiday. the resort is well policed and providing people take normal sensible precautions they should have a very safe and enjoyable holiday. We particularly enjoy going into Rosa's on the beach, opposite the Globus hotel the food, service and entertainment at Rosa's is very good.

resort its self not to bad but entertainment for kids rubbish.Just returned home few hours ago and glad to be home.kids are aged 7 and 11 did not like it, enjoyed the swimming pool but there is only so much swimming you can do.would not recomend this place to young families , if already booked would do more research on it. Wished i followed the reviews would have saved myself alot of dissapointment.Have to pay for painting small plaster of paris figuires, which i found to be a joke, felt already paid enough for the holiday

Sunny Beach is lovely there is plenty to do with lots of restaurants and bars however in the town the price of drinks and food is more expensive than outside the town, but there are several bars that offer happy hour two for one all day. There is quite a lot of building work going on, but nothing offensive or a nuisance. We had quite a bit a rain the first week of our stay and the drainage on the roads is not good so watch out for traffic splash! also cars will not stop for you so remember your highway code! We went on several trips one to Khan's Tent just outside of Sunny Beach which was a fantastic night of entertainment which I would definately recommend. We spent a day in the blue mountains and went on a cable cart ride, very old and scary but picturesque, the Virgin River to see the turtles wasn't great and you could miss that trip out and there are plenty of waterparks. The old town of Nessabar which you can walk to from Sunny Beach, was lovely and worth a day trip and food was alot cheaper than Sunny Beach. The country has lots of history if you are into that and if you like the beach it goes on for miles with lots of watersports. There is the typical touts trying to get you into every bar but they accept it when you say no which is nice. The clothes are really cheap and if I returned I would take half the amount of clothes and buy there and wish I had been told that before I went. We felt safe all the time and the locals are very friendly. I would definately go back to Bulgaria but would like to try a different resort for variety.

we stayed in sunny beach, but the town of nessabar is worth a visit, its very pretty with its cobbled streets. Sunny beach has loads of bars and nightclubs, and the beach is so clean you dont have to worry about wearing shoes.
