We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

As a family we didn't really find any entertainment but there agin we are not big drinkers spent most time walking up and down the market streets. check your change because some will try to short change you but few and far between but you do get paranoid about it.
there is vey little in the way of food that we enjoyed supermarkets hopeless we ate out nearly all the time, we went to the fat cat that had been recommended but service was useless, had a nice sunday dinner at The brothers which was in the centre, had a nice breakfast at Ole Ole also in the centre very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you, the best place we found was Djanny's which is in the centre but down by the markets it is the only place people queue for, no one outside trying to drag you in, try the gravy it was lovley.
went on the boat to nessebar cost 35 lev for the 3 of us from outside victoria palace, people there trying to get you to change money don't do it, its a con, used to be a quaint little village now just full of tat.
catch the buses which run on the main road a couple of streets back only cost one lev each, caught the bus back from nessebar cost us 3 lev for all of us. mini trains cost us 9 lev, 3 lev each, it is so easy to get the bus though we did this nearly every night caught the bus to the centre and walked back.
only change money at the crown booths or in hotels we used hotels better rates. did witness these other booths conning people.
tipping drives you mad if you buy an ice cream they have a tip jar, didn't bother half the time just to much.
there are golf carts, and bike rides which drive you mad up and down the market streets beeping constantly for you to get out the way i think these were really dangerous so watch your little ones.
there are monkeys, crocodiles (baby ones) and snakes there for you to have your photo taken. please don't. they just stand there for you to approach them dont put animals on you.
we have been to sunny beach before and enjoyed it, went back because we thought it might have improved but hadn't in fact i think it had got worse, very commercialized like blackpool harrassed to eat or drink everywhere. food a big problem if your fussy, very little in the way of english food and i know your abroad and have to try the food but we were there for a fortnight and got fed up of kebabs etc wanted a dinner etc, fruit very expensive. there is a kfc, macdonalds and a subway, just little things like a sandwhich bread mostly stale couldn't tell the difference between ham and bacon so had cheese triangles. i suggest taking things with you if your self catering. can get a beer for 1 lev saw one for 0.79. fags cost 39 lev for two hundred.
wouldn't visit again but this was our second time and i think they have ruined it. would be nice if your first visit.

Good resort - something for all. Workers out every morning clearing debris from main roads - but side streets could do with being cleaned up. The path for the electric train from Nessebar to Sunny Beach should be developed and shade provided. it would make a lovely promenade. Traffic a bit of a hazard and better pavements and pedestrian crossings would be a bonus! Also difficult to find information on getting around on your own - could do with Tourist Information offices and some signage to places such as the bus station. Emphasis on tour companies selling tours and not much on the independent traveller.

Sunny Beach on the whole is on a par with most holiday resorts in europe, it is worth remembering that Bulgaria is still on the whole quite a poor country so you will see the odd bit of dodgy infrastructue and some not so nice places if you head off the beaten track, but the main tourist part of the resort will be more than acceptable to most people.
One thing that you won't find is noise from building work....this has to be undertaken over the winter and I believe has to cease around May. So you might see the odd unfinshed building but you won't be disturbed by the usual noise.
Sunny Beach is a great for just about everyone, a great variety of shops, bars, restaurants, entertainment and activities will ensure that anybody will find something they like to do.
The beach is great and even though it is covered with sunbeds and parasols that you have to pay for there are areas towards the the rear of the beach where you can place your towels for free.
I have visited Sunny Beach before and I intend to do so in the future.

Got my phone robbed over there, stay in groups. You get alot of mither with people advertising there bars too. Alot of class bars/clubs etc. Really enjoyed the night life and some class kebabs etc. Everything is there on a night and that made the holiday. Bar crawls are superb too.

What can i say i love SB, the beach is always so clean and all the restaurants are really well priced. Have a meal in Fat Cats it is closer to the Victoria Palace end of the main strip, my son loved it as we could have a meal right on the beach so he could play away!
Only thing that annoyed us abit was the bikes etc on the main strip at night, the main strip was so busy that there was not enough room for these things to go up and down all the time.
SB has really changed since 2004 when we were there last, a lot of new hotels come up and alot more people - i suppose this could be a good thing for the Country - just hope it is not gonna turn out like a typical Spain!!
Defo go on a horse ride down the beach it was lovely just make sure you agree on the price with the guy and hand over money before you get on the horse!
Great place!! Wanna go back now!! Caroline, Mike & Liam X

Plenty to do out and about in the resort, if you like bars, clubs, discos, live acts weren't brilliant, mostly duos but watchable.
Beach clean, sea was like bath water but quite choppy with lots of seaweed wrapping itself around your legs.
Beware of dodgy fruit sellers around the resort, offering you a couple of grapes to try, if you do take them they will not leave you alone until you have been totally ripped off buying a bag of their crappy fruit and then short changed. Take my advise and just ignore these people.

I was pleasantly surprised by Sunny Beach resort. It is very large with literally hundreds of hotels, but it was clean and safe with a huge sandy beach. There are loads of restaurants, many with entertainment and lots of bars catering for the full age spectrum and some Blackpoolish type stuff for the children. The snack bars in the streets do some great cheap food - well worth indulging! There were lots of Russian and Czech tourists when we were there and they were generally well-behaved. One caveat is the price of resort taxis which I thought were expensive. I would definitely go back to both hotel and resort. definitely go back to

Sunny beach is a very lively resort and there is definitely something for some one, whether it be a nice romantic dinner with a sea view, clubbing, family meals in all restaurants, melting in the sun all day on the lovely golden sandy beach. a walk around the sea front or into the centre, excursions to Bourgas for shopping or Old Nessebar for shopping and sight seeing. it was a very tidy resort no litter to be seen anywhere. there is entertainment for everyone from kids to adults in all the restaurants. The food is very cheap the last day at a steak house of which I cant remember the name the four of us had, Chinese chicken wings and 2 garlic brads to start, 1 sirloin steak with chips and salad, 2 peppered steaks with chips and salad, 1 lamb cutlets with chips and salad, 8 beers and two soft drinks betweens us, the total for the lot was 110 lev, which is about £50 or 60 euros. it was very nice too. with us picking places to eat it was always a gmble wherever you went weather it was nice or not. a very nice resort will be definitely visiting again...
