We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby

Bulgaria is a beautiful place, very clean and everyone friendly. Most of the locals can speak a little English especially if they want you to buy something!
Not as many bars/nightclubs as other European holidays places but they make some of the best cocktails I've ever tasted!
The beach was spotless and had various water sports on offer.

Our fourth year in SB and I think maybe our last as a ‘main holiday’ destination. I don’t like the way it is getting more and more commercialised – if there’s spare land then it wall have a hotel, apartments or a shop built on it next year.
Prices don’t seem to have gone up much from last year – still get a large beer for 0.75Lv (27p) :o)
On the other hand, Red Bull in the hotel was 6.00Lv and a Bacardi Breezer in the Tropicana was 6.50Lv. It pays to stick to the local drinks.
Normal beach holiday rules apply – the nearer you are to the beach – the more you pay.
Dannys Bistro, Stop and Troya (All just beyond the market) provided good cheap food whilst The Jupiter, Malina, Marina and Briz (Villagers Yard) served up decent meals but at premium prices ( by Bulgarian Standards that is). We also had a really nice meal at The China Town behind the Globus.
We noticed that prices were dropping as soon as we got into September – DVDs, CDs, Clothes and souvenirs were all in a ‘sale’ or on special offers.
We had a day out at The Aquapark again this year and everybody really enjoyed it. We picked the middle Monday as we reckoned that it might be quieter on change over day – it was – no Queues at all.
The fact we travelled a week later this year might have effected it as well, everywhere became a lot quieter towards the end of our second week. A free bus runs from a designated stop on the main road above the Kuban Hotel.
Taxis seem to have a 10Lv minimum fare and remember to get a fixed price – not go on the meter – it will cost you at least double.
Yes those scooters are a pain but I was more concerned about the motorised quad bikes, mopeds and mini motorbikes being rented out to young kids. We saw the Police giving one rental stall a really hard time, hope they are cracking down on it. On that point, we saw more Police on patrol this year than we have in the past 3 years put together – quite reassuring ?????
The new Hotel ‘RUI Helena Resort’ looks the most impressive new hotel but is a long way out of town, just beyond the Fiesta Beach and Victoria Palace.

Everything spotless, we noticed outside our hotel was a cleaning lady with broom and she used to clean the street every morning.
The resport was also spotless, with the Bin men coming around around 9pm.
Resort entertainment was excellent.
Around the hotel was excellent and when you went on the train into the centre it was truly an eye opener, the first thing that hit you was a pub above a swartz shop with flourescent blue lights.
Entertainment was brilliant with shops/restaurants/pubs/bungy jumps even candy floss for the kids and of course MCDONALDS.
Beach was superb - every king of watersport, not deep as went down in steps, and sand lovely.
Most of the hotels on the way down to the centre actually had the pools on the front of the hotels so you could see all the waterslides and facilities they had.
If you want copies of Diesel/Adidas/Reebok this is the place to go-so cheap.
Game Boy Advance were only 20/40/50 lev's compared to our thirty quid here.
Would I visit this resort again TOO TRUE!!!!
Unfortunately Thomas Cook are not flying Direct into Sunny Beach next year I have been told (yet First Choice is offering accomodation with a Thomas Cook Airline???

The resort itself is full of shops, mainly what I can only describe as like, market stalls, although there are some supermarkets (with air conditioning, thankfully!)
There are a couple of bowling alleys, a bungee jump, and a bunch of other stuff for kids to do too. You can hire bikes, peddle cars, scooter bikes, and cars. There are also multiple taxi's, just waiting to take you wherever.
You can also book day trips out. If you have a large group of you, I suggest hiring a minibus. We took a daytrip to Nessebar booked with a guy, who's (english) wife met us in the Brothers House, a restaurant where we spent most evenings for our meal.
The restaurants are all relatively cheap. Everynight our bill came to roughly £5 a head. For 13 of us, we were surely pleased at that. Most of them are a little pushy to get you to go in and have a meal or a drink in their establishment, but there is so much competition around, I would imagine it is unavoidable. We, as I mentioned earlier, ate a lot in the Brothers House, which was a 30 second walk from the hotel. The food was a success with everyone and the staff were very friendly.
There was a problem for us with the curbs in the resort though, because they're a little higher that what we're used to here, and it caused a job in getting my friend up and down across roads and so on.
The beach is a beautiful stretch. The sand was so hot I looked like I was dancing as I walked up to the beach pub, the Red Flag. The beach was clean for the most part, you have to watch out for some broken shells and stones as you come off the beach, but apart from that it was good.
In all I found it a pleasant holiday, with a good variety of things to do. I already have plans to return again next year, with my parents.

The resort on the whole was good with lot's of water sports and activities, the beach was clean but I did come across some glass and also a used needle and syringe on the beach. When we stayed at the resort there were lot's of jellyfish in the sea, so beware!
You can shop 'til you drop along the front and there are lot's of different activities to have a go at. Most of the people selling were very nice and friendly.

The main resort was clean but if you are pushing a pram the pavements can be a pain.
The entertainment is o.k. but there is not a lot to do if you have got young children. Millies bar is o.k. (but go early to get a seat). Khans tent is excellent. You can catch a taxi (10 lev) to the Dolphin which also has a good floor show. Don't book the Gypsy night with Balkan (which is about £55 2 adults and 2 kids) the show is also good but when the bus picks you up by the Kuban and takes you about a mile down the road. get a taxi instead. The water park is a must for the kids.
The beach is safe for the kids but there are loads of fag ends in the sand.

On the whole, the resort appears to strive for cleanliness in many areas. There is a nice promenade running almost the length of the resort between the hotels on the front & the beach - however, dodging the sit-on scooters and golf buggies which also use this can becoming irritating.
The beach is excellent, being tended to in the evenings. It's not a cheap option if the hotel beds are taken; 2 beds + 1 umbrella at 18 Leva equates to approx £6/day! The beach has a gentle slope into the sea & there are numerous life guards and flags indicating conditions for bathing.
Entertainment seemed sparse; you'll find the occassional warblers in a few of the bars and hotels but they're not of great quality. Kahn's Tent is reputedly an excellent night with good food.
Don't expect a shopper's paradise - most of the 'shops' are no more better than market stalls. What you see out on the shelves is generally all that you can buy - and whilst they do have some good copies of named goods, there isn't much more on offer.

Loads to do day and night be sure to go to the Delphin restaurant, lovely meal and excellent floor show.
The 4 wheel drives trip was the best part of our holiday, well worth doing.
Gypsy night great, don't do the trip though, get a taxi yourselves, half the price
