We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

the resort of sunny beach was lovely, the bulgarians are really nice, be ready for a bit of mither trying to get you in the bars and cafes...the beach is super and the sea is perfect for kids, we went at the beginning of the season so there wasnt much entertainment, but found a few good bars and really cheap bars.. shops along the front are all similar. clothes, shoes, souveniers, just beware of the rickshaws, buggies and silent electric scooters which whiz along the prom..lol. all in all a lovely resort.

Sunny Beach is a really lively resort with hundreds of shops but they are all selling the same. Plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs although we didn't use any as we stayed on an all inclusive basis. Did not like the small children begging for money found that quite disturbing. We went to Nessebar on the beach for 1L about 50p which was a short bus ride away. We were harrassed by gypsies selling necklaces and they wouldn't take no for an answer and followed us so this spoilt our visit.

Sunny Beach was packed with nightlife, long strip of bars clubs and resturants with happyhour lasting nearly the whole night. Most of the clubs and bars shut before we went home though which left us stuck for choice near the end of the holiday.

We went first week in October and the resort was 90 percent closed. Most bars and restaraunts boarded up for the winter, No entertaintment to speak of found one karioke bar and one bar with resident band.
Loads of rubbish dumped outside closed beach bars and then cut open and rifeld through making more mess.
Loads of people robbed and ripped off by locals. Gypsies constantly begging no street lighting, felt unsafe and anxious all week. First and last time in Bulgaria

Sunny Beach has changed over the last few years and is continuing to grow. If you want a beach holiday with a lively nightlife then it is great. There is penty of activity for the kids and we have always felt safe even when a bit worse for the demon drink. Prices are still cheap (until they join the euro) and a decent meal for 4 with a drink will set you back about £25.
The infrastructure is improving but if you are in a wheelchair you will struggle with the pavements as they are about 9 inches high (much taller when you are drunk)
The beach is vast and it pays to walk towards Nessabar as there are fewer people and it is more relaxing. However, people of a nervous disposition be aware that the nudist beach sits in the middle of the "normal" beach, which, is a shock the first time but will greatly amuse the kids.

fantastic beach , lots and lots and lots of bars, and then some more, lots and lots of restarants (though food a bit crappy in some places)

Went Sunny Beach 7 years ago, a lot more buildings and the food has def better, shame about the cleanliness of the resort and especially the beach, we were on the beach by the ship just after the nudist section and the beach was disgusting, it is such a shame because the sea was beautiful, don't think I'd go back again I prefer Golden Sands now but if available at a good price would consider it.

Sunny Beach itself is nice however, it is run by the Mafia and it is quite an eye opener watching the stall holders pay their takings to them.
Would probably not go back to Bulgaria for at least another 5 years.

in my own opinion the resort itself is like blackpool, there are plenty of shops but every one of them sell the same rubbish. i heard it was cheap before i went but i soon found out that was completely true. i tried a pair of armani jeans on (fake) and they were asking 70 lev (about £30) which i think is ridiculous for fake jeans. there are also alot of people trying to drag you in to their pub/restaurant, you are constantly dodging the golf buggies and mopeds that drive up and down the main stretch of sunny beach. all in all it was the worst holiday i have been on and would never go back
