We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

Sunny Beach is just one long stretch of uncared for beach very dirty with cigarette end and plastic bottles, endless shops selling all the same things and fast food stalls which we would not but anything from after seeing all the flys landing on surfaces and food etc. Never went there at night - daytime was bad enough, saw a few beggars with children in tow and one very strange chap wanting you to eat grapes that he was offering you (no way) and sometime getting quite annoyed with people who did not want them. It could be a lovely resort if it was looked after, maybe once the prices start to go up now they are in the EU, but afraid they are far behind Spain and have a long way to go to catch up with other tourist countries.

The resort is specifically built for tourists with no residential area, just loads of hotels. Shops are full of fake designer gear, cs gas and stun guns (not joking) Evening entertainment is karaoke, bingo, quizzes etc. The beach is large but not very clean. Loads of chips, doughnuts and pancake stalls. Some nice restaurants, Caribbi have an extensive menu and you can see the meat roasting outside.

To be honest, resort holidays are not my thing really and I found sunny beach to be like blackpool on crack. Full of english yobs shouting, swearing, way way too drunk, fighting, acting lewd. Prostitues everywhere. Cheap and tacky trinket stalls selling the same thing over and over. Kebabs, burgers, chips, pizza. Where was Bulgaria? If thats your thing, fair enough. But you might as well stay in England becuase everything there is English. No culture, nothing, only 1 excursion takes you anywhere nice.

Dont go dirty full of drunks rubbish shops rubbish food rubbish weather in Sept. Beach nice full of fag ends. Fake everything, uncooked food rubbish night life. If you have booked unlucky you. You will like it or hate it I hated it. If your a scruffy tight wad who wants to spend nothing but get lashed on cheap beer and sleep with pros and smoke at every oppertunity you will be fine. Would not take kids either nothing for them at all. Actually theres nothing for anyone ar this dump. Its not as cheap as everyone says either £1.50 for coffey av £5 for a brekkie or a snack thats ion the cheaper places as well. Only beer is cheap 0.50p-£1.00 a glass however its weak stuff. Cocktails dont have a lot in them but just stick to local spirts. I can see why so many people went out and got legless all the time becuse there is nothing else to do other than tramps about tat shops selling over priced fake rubbish or drink in the bars ! It was an experience i will say that for it. I would say tho in defence the beach area is the best part at least theres a few half nice bars there. Where we stayed the bars where awful. If you do go take my advice get the best hotel you can do your reserch and stick with the beach area in high season so u get some sunshine.

Did not like Sunny Beach Resort at all. There are cigarette butts everywhere and on the beach, it should be renamed "Smokers Paradise Resort"!
If I had known what it was like, I would have gone to Blackpool or another seaside town in the UK and saved some money.
Tat shops everywhere, not cheap. The reps told us barter for goods to around half the cost, but one trader said, "this is not Turkey"!! There is nothing worth buying, although we bought a Russian/Bulgarian doll. Did not like the fact that some of the things they sold were all sizes and kinds of knives that are not presented in locked cabinets or anything.
Was sick of trying to be lured into places with "Happy Hour - All day", "1 lv large beer" "you like football", "2 for 1 local BG drinks and cocktails".
Every restaurant is a Steakhouse (should be smokehouse as there are no non-smoking areas), that sells every kind of food, but no lettuce only tomato and cucumber garnish. We enjoyed the Shopska and Shepherd Salads. If you ask for some salad garnish, you get nearly 4 tomatoes and a whole cucumber sliced.
The music, well someone told them we must like 70 and 80's music - SB is stuck in a music time warp!
The train is expensive 3 lv each for a mile if you are lucky. The buses are good 1 lv each to Nessebar and 5 lv to Bourgas; they can get very busy, even when you think they can't let anymore people on, they do!!
Liked the food and staff at Venus, Lotus and Havana. Don't go to Forest Hut and complain about their food, after he asks why did you not eat it, or he will call the police!
Did not like Georges that others have recommended, such a surly lot, maybe because we were at the end of the season and they were tired!
Gypsies selling fruit were too pushy, did not take Ne, Blagadaria on board (no, thank you).
Nessebar had very aggressive women selling bead bracelets and necklaces on the steps by the amphitheatre.
We did take phrase books and try to learn a few words, which always brought smiles to the faces of the Bulgarian's, think they like the idea that you try to speak their language, never saw another phrase book in anyone else's hand though.
Pavements/side walks that lead to nowhere, so back onto the road.

THe resort was cleaned most mornings were we see road sweepers on a daily basis. Most bars had some entertainment live singers or Karaoke. The beaches were fairly clean, but not as clean as when we have been to Greece. We would never ever consider going back to Bulgaria ever again, the people were rude, if they could ever get a extra Lev out of you they would, you had to watch your money, the weather wasn't to good 4 sunny days out of 14 days, was glad to get home, my partner called it rainy beach instead sunny beach. The bus service was excellent, and very cheap compared to London, but must add a trip to Nessebar is worth a visit

The resort overall was clean although looking a little worn. Public toilets you have to pay and not many bars have their own and those that do also charge. Sunny Beach is a resort that I would say catered mainly for the younger generation and a slightly seedy side with all the sex shops and prostitutes. Most of the stalls along the prom are selling fake designer clothes, bags, watches etc.but in between there were some nice restaurants as well as the mcDonalds. Away from the main strip things were more low key. I would not go back to this resort. Been there done it tried it and the weather spoiled it for me, but we were just unlucky.
