We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

Resort was very lively at night with all pubs and restaurants always full. Can be quite airy in October things start closing up for end of season in second week of October, still odd things to do but starts getting bleak.
Lots of young local youngsters aged 12-16 on streets begging some times branishing knives as we saw, we found this quite intimitating.
Market stalls got some good bargains. You can fill suitcase full of designer clothes for next to nothing as we did. Beware of cheap copyright DVDS don't always have great quality as we found out.

Stayed for a week in Sunny Beach resort from 31/8/04. Found resort to be much bigger than expected but really it is full of the same things...the restaurants all serve same type of food and there is not really separate bars - just restaurants that serve drinks. Generally the food throughout the resort is not up to much...and you need to watch for meat being under cooked. It is cheap to eat and drink out - but if you want branded drinks/bottles then it is the same price as at home. Loads of stalls selling fake clothes, bags, perfumes etc and watch that you don`t buy branded cigarettes from the vendors on the promendade as these are also fake and unsmokable! Couple of places on promenade where guys have snakes, iguanas and a little alligator that you can hold and get your photo taken - alligator has it`s jaws taped up and I didn`t like this. Overall resort was okay but wouldn`t go back.

Sunny Beach.
Not a great deal to say, cheap, sometimes nasty (dancing bears and begging children) but plenty to do.
Not yet felt the full force of the brit invasion but seem to like us best out of all their guests.
They have they own brand of larger louts (young Macadonian men)who cause all the trouble at present but I can honestly say I didn't see any or felt anything else but safe during my stay
Expanding and developing at a tremendous rate so it should become a regular feature in our holiday brochures in the future. Thomas Cook, Thompson and Portlbnd all in the respot for the first time this year giving Balcan a run for their money. Can only be for the good.
I expect the centre to be redeveloped over the next 3 to 5 years as more and more proper 4 and 5 star are built. Certainly UK punters will not accept low standards if they have stayed in placed like the Helana, Fiesta and Victoria Park complexes.

The resort is really clean and tidy. the beach is also nice and clean. The bin men, and i think it must be the bulgarian equivalent of road sweepers are regularly out cleaning.
The resort has plenty to offer for everyone, young and old. whilst we were there we went go karting, quading, hired golf buggies, scooters, push bikes, and lots more.
There are a couple of main disco's for the ones who want to go, they are open till 6am. The beer is really cheap, ranging from 50p to 80p a pint, and spirits are cheap too, about £1 for a double vodka and orange.
I felt that the resort was aimedmore for the germans though than anyone else, as most people spoke german, and only a few english, but they are learning.
POINTS TO BE WARY OF::: these are the sunloungers on the beach are for hire and not free, AND on the evenings just watch out, keep hold of your bags or wallet as one of our group was mugged. Also don't just get in a taxi, barter the price before the journey.

Sunny Beach is lovely and is very very clean, however the pavements are in a poor state of repair so leave your stilletoes at home ladies (I managed to ruin the heels on 2 pairs) The beach is also very clean and very big - with lifeguards posted all along the beach as well.
I think its more the place to go for a quiet holiday than a fortnight of drunken wildness.
I am not sure if it was maybe just the time of year I went (first 2 weeks of September) but there wasnt much happening in the main square and all the pubs were really quiet. Most people tending to just have their dinner and go back to their hotel.
We spent a few nights just wandering about looking for a lively pub. There is a few night clubs, however I would only recommend the Lazur - which has a swimming pool!!! or Club XL. (Heard a few dodgy things about Dance Mania)
The food was much better that I was expecting, I would recommend the Hong Kong Chinese restaurant, on the main road and Las Palmas (not far from the Pomorie) for "conventional food" They done a delicious steak and also do lovely cocktails.
If you get the chance go to the Aquapark, however some of the slides are not for the faint hearted!!! (cheaper to do this yourself than via the rep as there is a free bus service) also book to go to Khans Tent - it is a fantastic night and excuse to get glammed up!!
Sadly there were alot of child beggars in the street, who can be very "pushy". I tended to ignore them as if you gave them anything - they would follow you the next night looking for more. If you want to give to them maybe wait till your last night to save you any hassle.
And it IS as cheap as everyone says - I saved around £500 in spending money compared to my usual desinations of Greece and Spain.
I think I will go back to Sunny Beach but in a crowd or earlier in the season.

This was my first time in Bulgaria and my last the best part of the holiday was coming home.
The resort is one of the most dirtiest scruffiest shabbiest places I have ever been and the smell was awful.
The only decent place was Sharkies bar across the road. There is constant noise for 24 hours a day and the sea wasn't nice as there were jelly fish in it that nobody thinks to tell you about, the flag system in operation is a joke as it does not go on the sea currents but on whether all the lifeguards have turned up for work.
The airport is a joke and there is a scam operating there as regards your duty free goods, if ever you are told you have to at airport for your goods coming home, ask the guard for a receipt to show at your home airport they will back off and let you through.
Do not give them any money at all because they cannot confiscate anything from you only customs at home can do that

Sunny beach is lovely and clean there wasn’t any litter anywhere.
There’s plenty of entertainment in the centre. People from the bars are always there trying to get you in for a drink and a meal and it does do you head in a bit but you should try a couple there is some really good ones. It's happy hour nearly all day the beer is nice and the cocktails are lovely doesn’t take much to get drunk.
The beach is clean and tidy the sand is gold and the sea is blue it’s out of this world and it goes on for ever.
I will be coming back to Sunny Beach again in a couple of years time. Its great for families and kids and its very very very cheap
