We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

Not all that impressed with the resort, could be made nicer if they took all the stalls away from the front as the hotels look great. Bars on the front were good so much variety.Water park was great.

Sunny Beach Resort is a nice place.
Watch out for pick pockets and bag snatchers espcailly in the centre and south end of the resort.
Try the local resturants as they offer really good value for money. Espcailly Djannies.

The resort itself is kept spotless. Street cleansing is done at night, refuse collection is done also at night and very quietly too by the men and the women of Bulgaria.
Sunny Beach is obviousley geared up for the holiday maker and is a purpose built resort. There are tree lined roads and well stocked gardens to most of the hotels.
The street beggars can be a little frightening, especially the children who are all very voicefull if you refuse to give them money.
The eateries are quite reasonable we had a full 3 course meal with drinks 3 times for 4 and it only came to £45, you would not get this anywhere in England.

Sunny Beach was one of the most beautiful - but is being over developed. Hotels & apartments are choking it. Every square inch is under construction.
You have the beach, a walkway once bounded by trees, now lined by garage like stalls + up & over doors, then without boundaries the swimming pools then the hotels.
Then the same again with narrow roads inbetween - the buses have trouble getting in & out.
The stall (shops) are mostly selling the same items
copies of jeans, perfumes etc.
The food outlets, incl.MacD are touting for business permanently.
The beach is beautiful.
Staff locally seem to be paid pittance.

Sunny Beach is beautiful but presently spoilt with all the construction being carried out, by Hotels being build and the current buoyant Apartment trade. As a result there is dust and grit everywhere so the resort cleanliness is having a hard time.
As we were there mid May most places hadnt organised much in the way of entertainment. The Victoria Palace end of the beach is way cleaner & the sea was calmer - we swam there and the water was warmer than the hotel pools. The cost of a good lunch for two with a glass of beer each would average 12 lev = €6,
Good copies of designer clothes are available, but check their sizing, even 2 pars of jeans 32 x 32 were very different, so if you intend bringing some home, bring your tape and measure. They are worth the effort.
People are very good humoured although they are paid badly, sales assistants paid only on a low commission, etc.

The whole resort is a building site. For every hotel, shop, or restaurant that's open, they're building another one next door. You can't walk 50 yards without walking past a construction site. 2 of our party are asthmatic, and they both sounded like Darth Vader by the end of the two weeks.
We went in the first two weeks of the season, so we expected that not all the commercial facilities would be open. However, we didn't expect that none of them would be open because they hadn't been built! Many of the facilities pictured in the brochure (eg waterpark on the beach) didn't open until towards the end of the second week.
Restaurants - initially thin on the ground, these started popping up as the days went by. Generally OK if you go on opening night - revisit the same place three or four days later and we found that the quantity and standard of food had declined while the prices had gone up.
The beach is excellent - it gets cleaned by hand on a daily basis.

Not a fan of Sunny Beach. Was pretty much a building site near to were we stayed. Could not find any restuarants that served good food and at that I mean basic. Service wasn't particularly good in restaurants either. If you want to lose lots of weight, this is the place to go.

Beach cleaned daily. No problems with beggars or photographers approaching with animals whilst on our visit. Nesserbar town is a must found on a short bus ride which was an experience (how many people can you fit on 1 bus) not for the claustrophobic. Club touts trying to get you into the clubs could be a problem. If you see "Daniel" at the Amigo bar telling Kay, Doug & Eileen say Hello!!

Sunny beach is great, but only if you are either without kids or you are pensioners.
There are bars and restaraunts everywhere some good some not so good but all very cheap.
Our main complaint was, there isn't as much there for kids of a very young age as I expected, as a lot of the entertainment wasnt starting until aprox 8 at night by which time kids of 3 and 1 are getting tired.
Bulgarian people very friendly. Beach very clean.
would go back but only when kids are older.
