Rooms are spread out and it's a big resort. It does have a good transport system. Ask not to be put near a large generator area in the middle of the resort it's noisy and smelly. Think it has something to do with the sewers.

This resort is nice but the sea is a little too rough with a strong undercurrent. There is a lot of real estate going up and I think the resort will improve over the years to come.

Great resort. 20 mins from airport in an air conditioned bus. Fantastic reception and lobby area. The bell boys sort all of your luggage while you are checking in and the next time you see your cases they are delivered to your room. The place is spotless they have cleaners on shift 24hrs per day

excellent resort to visit, very hot , can rain at night and the wind is deceiving in terms of burning ! Iam used to the sun , used factor 50 and still burnt !
Bavaro is very much white sands, palm trees, blue warm sea and plenty of water sports ie parasending , speed boats, bananas windsurfing etc..but not tacky ! loads of sunbeds on the beach but not the place if you want to explore at Nights off the vast complexes ie the RUI group or Bahia Principe group,
The locals are very very friendly whatever nationality you may be and make you more than welcome, beach is cleaned for seaweed each day and there is a market at the end of the beach which you can barter to your hearts content,
would i go again to Bavaro -yes
Wouild i recommend this as a value for money Caribean break -yes...go and enjoy !

This beach is the third best beach in the world and I can see why! Its all you ever dream of pure white sands, crystal blue water and palm trees. It really is the best stretch with little going on its peaceful and relaxing with a Diving hut for all your water sports- The guys and girls here do some fab actives half the price of any of the reps. Our son of 14 took his PADI in diving which took three days he had a private teacher Glen from the U.K who is a top guy, it cost us $300 in total and he passed with flying colours this allows him to dive anywhere in the world for a lifetime.
We didnt feel the need to go out of the resort as it had all we wanted on the doorstep, after all you dont go on holiday to go shopping surly!
The Trapeze is a must great for all ages, Our son lived on this and the guys who work on here really are great they have been there since our visit in 2005. They really do build up anyones confirdence.

The whole complex was completely spotless, not only the rooms, restaurants and bar areas but also the gardens, pool and beach areas. The entertainment was mainly the animation team who put their heart and sole into everything they did. The beach was tranquil and relaxed with daily bar-b-ques and held a weekly dinner party which was great fun. Thanks to sunscape the beach our wedding was perfect and look forward to visiting again one anniversary.

The resort is very large and spacious, and does not really feel crowded with the exemption of the beach side pools, however they are a lot of fun.
The food was excellent at every place we ate. The A La Carte restaurants I ate at were the steakhouse, Mexican, French and Mediterranian. My favorite was a tie between the French and Mediterranean, but the steakhouse and Mexican were really good also.
The steakhouse got some peoples cooking instructions mixed up (too cooked or too rare) but mine was perfect. The main buffet was always great, and even had a steak and lobster night.
The resort is extremely clean, the rooms also really large and very nice. Do not leave money out in your room….they will assume it is a tip. I put out $40 to dry and left the room for only a half hour and it was gone when we returned.
All in all the staff are quite friendly and try very hard. I speak a little Spanish and it proved invaluable in many cases…I would suggest learning some simple common sayings and words at the very least since there aren’t many people who speak English. They really appreciate it when you try to speak to them in Spanish.
If you want to buy a carving in the market square, be sure to barter with the vendors and walk away at least once. You can generally buy things for about ¼ to ½ of what they first ask you for. There is lots to do and we were with a big group so we had a blast at the shows, the disco, casino, beach and pools. We booked through Sunwing and we were located at the furthest place from the beach, but it had the quietest pool, best lounge bar nearby, and there are trolleys all the time to take you anywhere fairly quickly.
We played beach volleyball and went kayaking out to a big shipwreck that is close to shore. About the only complaint is an odd septic type smell that is near the main lobby. We didn’t spend much time there so it wasn’t really that bad.
