Rooms are spread out and it's a big resort. It does have a good transport system. Ask not to be put near a large generator area in the middle of the resort it's noisy and smelly. Think it has something to do with the sewers.

The resort is spotless there are cleaners around all day and most of the evening the tile floors are gleaming the grounds are well maintained.
Entertainment was quite good something for everyone's taste a theater a bowling alley a lounge where you can enjoy a drink and listen to some live music or singing, and a disco if you want to dance the night away and they also have a casino.
The beach is lovely white sand that your feet sink into it is so soft its like treading on flour there's loads of sun loungers and there are also some with covers over for those that do not like to be in direct sun.
If you asked me would I go back to this resort the answer would definitely be yes. ps forgive my spelling.

We did not venture outside of the resort during our stay, as there was always plenty to do.
The beach was very nice, although it was a little rocky in the sea, so we had to be careful. The sea was also rough during our stay, with the red flag being displayed at some times. It was very clean though, often seeing staff collecting rubbish and raking the sand.
We would definately stay at this resort again.

The resort is about a 1 hour journey from the airport,the first thing we noticed was how clean the resort and beach was,entertainment was ok but could do better,I would definately visit again.

Not much in the resort as the hotel is in isolation. A few shops 200m-300m away along road with tourist police presence but nothing else within miles.
Beach swept daily in front of hotel only, not to either side but not too bad at the sea just a little scruffy and littered towards the tree line.
Never saw one beach vendor in 2 weeks at hotel. Further up the coast about 1/2 mile were some beach shops but no hassle understood "no" meant "no".
Take beach shoes (can buy locally but more expensive. £15-£25) if intend to use water as coral (in places) at waters edge and v sharp.

Resort was constantly being cleaned and the gardens tended to. Entertainment by the beach pool was always good fun and very good humoured.
Beach at resort was always kept clean and if you got down to the beach around 7.30am you would see staff cleaning everything up from litter to seaweed for the day ahead. The resort is great and I would recommend it to anyone.

as it is still a developing country, outside your hotel you would think that a bomb had went off, there is rubbish everywhere and the roads were a mess with potholes that a monster truck would have struggled to get over, also if you get a taxi hold on tight as they drive like maniacs

We booked quite a few trips, but due to the weather many were cancelled - its just the time of year.
We all went on a trip called 'Caribbean festival' where you get to do some snorkelling & they take you out to the ocean to an enclosure where you snrkel in & its full of Nurse Sharks & Stingrays - it was a fantastic trip some of the sharks were 10foot long!! Excellent value for money.
The other trip we went on was Outback Safari, Very interesting & a chance to see a bit of The real Dom Rep. you meet an 80yr old grandmother & see how her family live, no gas/elec, running water. Take some old T-shirts to give to local kids as they do need them & were very grateful for this. You drive past plantations & the guides seem to know everything. Other trips we were unable to do due to weather, drive your own speedboat, saona island (known as paradise island) there were dolphin enclosures etc, etc. loads of choice & your rep will be more than happy to sell the trips to you.

Beach had so much seaweed on it when the hurricane hit that it was un-useable. Sea also went from being a see through clear blue to a murky grey.
Spoke with a few locals and was told that the staff wait until the sea is finished chucking out all the seaweed before cleaning it all up. We were just unlucky due to the hurricane although the pool was good enough.
