Ayia napa is well known for its wild night life. I went there with my mom (aged 44) and young sister (aged 14) and did not have any problem. You just need to stay out of the main square. Loads of souvenier shops!
The beaches are lovely - clear blue sea and sandy. Nissi beach has a few weeds. Protaras (fig tree bay) is also well worth a visit (more family orientated)- beautiful.
There is a VERY nice mexican restuarant called los bambidos by the square - but be warned - you have to book in advance (extreemly popular). I heard another nice place to eat is Jasmine Inn for a variety of food and good atmosphere.
If clubbing and/or beach is you idea then go for it. (huge variety of pubs and clubs).
If you want a quieter family holiday then Protaras is a better choice.

What can i say? the nightlife is absolutely amazing! Its like walking through a cartoon, with all the themed bars and clubs, i think my favourite has to be Coyote Ugly club, as it is just like the film-you can dance on the bar and you get sprayed with water.
We made a lot of friends with the PR's for all the clubs, they are all really friendly, i am hoping to go out their next summer to work myself.
Harbour beach and Nissi beach are gorgeous, i would definately recomend going on a banana boat - a right laugh! two of my friends did paragliding too which looked amazing and i wish i had done too.

Sandy beach which is just behind this hotel is great. It isnt very big, as its like a little cove, but the sea is crystal clear and lovely and warm.
You do have to pay for sunbeds, but its only about £2.00 all day!!

Ayia Napa is great. There is something for everyone there. Loads of restaurants where the food looked great.
As we were Half Board, we did not get the opportunity to eat out. Loads of bars too.
There are quiet bars and loud bars. A pint can cost about £1.40 UK pound when there are offers on and then in the main square loads of bars and clubs which also do offers but many are quite expensive there, so check out what deals they are doing.
Resort is very clean. Most bars scrubbing the pavement down in the day to keep it clean. Beach was lovely. Just by the harbour. We did not make it to Nissi beach as weather too hot to be walking around in but this is supposed to be alovely beach.
No problems with our beach though. Weather fantastic. People sunbathing at 8.00 in the morning as we were going down for breakfast. You could feel the sun burning you at that time in the morning.
If you like Hot weather & great nightlife go to Ayia Napa. Got the brochures for next year!!!!!!!!!!!

Good resort, surprisingly catering for all age groups.
The central area around the "Square"resembles the ghost city of Famagusta during the day, but springs to life during the evening with some of the most outrageous bars to be seen anywhere! I wish I was 40 years younger !!!
The area between Agia Napa and Nissi beach is populated with lots of Taverna, Bars and International venues to suit all tastes and agegruops. Something for everyone.
Add to this the typical Cypriot Hospitality then you have a resort to suit all age groups, families, singles, couples and even the dreaded Stag and Hen Parties.
The only draw back is you have to use the hopeless Larnaka airport, where arrival and checking in is a long slow laborious process.

I have visited Ayia Napa twice and loved it on both occasions. Great for a quiet holiday and great for nightlife.

I really liked Nissi Bay and the fact that the hotel was within reach of Ayia Napa but not in the middle of it was ideal for us as a family with young children.

Ayia Napa has something for all ages but has had some very bad press in recent years which is totally unjustified. Don't be put off if you're over 35 - there are loads of great bars and restaurants you don't have to go to the Square and party every night to enjoy it.

I was a bit apprehensive about visiting Ayia Napa I have to say. My husband, myself and my 11-year-old son travelled with another couple and their 7 and 10-year old sons. In a nutshell I would say it's definitely not a resort for families. If you're a young couple or a group of lads or lasses out for a good time, to sample the delights of The Square then it's definitely for you. OK some of the bars had a karaoke on every now and then and some even had a pool table but it's still not somewhere I'd visit again as a family. We went to some nice restaurants. Just along from Thalassaki Hotel is Gary's Bar which is a must for breakfasts, even their take-away bacon sarnies were to die for! Next door is the Pompei Italian restaurant which again is very very good, although I wouldn't recommend the chicken kebab... We also tried a lovely restaurant called Castelli's which is up near the square, quite posh with nice tablecloths etc and the food was superb. We went to the Sea Horse bar once but I wasn't impressed. The Pre-Club Bar is better, I think it's part of the Anthea Apartments. It's quite an expensive place to eat and drink which is probably another reason why I wouldn't return. But if you are a family visiting Ayia Napa then I would recommend May, early June and then probably September because the resort is full of lots and lots of groups of young lads and lasses. Oh, and the weather is fantastic too!
