Beaches

The beach was a disappointment, was dirty and the sea was difficult to get into, full of seaweed. However there were portable toilets on the beach which was good.
A few bars had entertainment in them and we used the bar opposite our hotel to watch footabll and rugby and the bar manager was very attentive and amusing.

"Macronissos" is actually where the accommodation was as opposed to Ayia Napa as described. There's a few bars and restaurants but they are a good distance apart. Can recommend The Garden of Eden Restaurant and the Kings Sword Pub (where the mash potato is heavenly). Ayia Napa itself is actually 4km away and although there's plenty of restaurants between Macronnissos Village and Ayia Napa its a good 2 hour walk to get there.
Nissi Beach and Macronissos Beach are clean and small bays, the water is crystal clear though. Macronissos has watersports but the beach bar food is extremely basic (burger and chips).

The resort was very clean, only thing was a number of fag ends on nissi beach but suppose that can't be helped, there a number of bins about so can't see why people can't put them out and put them in the bin!
Fantastic choice of pubs and bars, few of my faves were pepper bar, square pub, volcano pub, kosmopol, bedrock, paddys inn and Guru. Reasonable prices on drinks, few places do buy one get one free. Music has to stop at 1.30 on week nights and 2.00 on weekends at the pubs by order of the Mayor which I think is a bit of a shame.
Restaurants - Los Bandidos - good atomsphere, nice good, lovely strawberry margaritas!
Sapparo Japanese restaurant - my favourite! Your food gets cooked right in front of you, the guys do some great tricks with pepper shakers, eggs and spatulas whilst cooking the food! Only around £25 for two people with starters mains and two drinks.
Limelight Taverna - steak was lovely, massive portions. Staff very friendly.
Nissi Beach I thought was by far the best. Crystal clear waters, you can walk out for some time before it gets deep. You should try the fly fish where you get pulled along by a speedboat on an inflatable, terrifying but great fun!
Day trips I would recommend is the water park where there are plenty of slides and the catamaran trip, try and get a seat on the nets at the front these are the best place to sit/lie.
Ayia Napa is a place for all ages, groups of people, couples and families and there is plenty to do!

Litter abounds everywhere you look, dried sick on many pavements. Lots of dust.
Entertainment is great if you like rowdy bars and night clubs.(if you are looking for varied entertainment visit florida, its amazing!)
Beaches littered with rubbish and cigarette ends, bottles and cans.
Would not visit resort or cyprus again mainly down to overall quality in general.
As a world traveller I appreciate the finer qualities that most countries can offer but the star ratings of hotels in this resort and country are well over rated.

Been to Ayia Napa before and I thought it had gone quite grubby since our last visit especially the pavements they looked very dirty and worn.
The entertainment is good but you must watch your drinks as my friend and I were drinking vodka red bulls but I am pretty sure they were putting water and not vodka in them and charging us 2cyp for the privilige.
We visited nissi beach which I also found to be very dirty full of cig buts paper etc but we still enjoyed.

We found the resort of Ayia Nappa to be very clean with varied entertainment including the Ayia Music Festival which we enjoyed. We did not visit the beach so cannot comment. We would visit this resort again.

What impressed me most about the resort was its excellent restaurants. The only poor meals I had were the ones in the Garden of Eden.I would highly recommend the more expensive Abacus and the Los Bandoes. The former had the best prawn starters I had ever tasted. For value for money I would recommend the Kings Sword and the Golden Dragon (beside the Paloma bar). They were a lot cheaper than the larger restaurants beside them and just as good if not better. If you like fish restaurants beside a pleasant harbour and beach I suggest you visit Potomas just 4 miles along the coast west of Ayia Napa. Here you will find an excellent family run restaurant right on the shore (not the first one inland) where they serve excellent fresh fish dishes.

Great beaches in this area , especially Macronissos beach. The waterpark is highly reccommended for a great day out, although the toilets there are not the best. Ayia Napa is a good place for a family holiday if you stay outside the centre and is not as noisy as you would think.

I would say the entertainment in Ayia Napa was to everybodies taste. If you didn't like it in one bar, you could go to another.
Nissi Beach was amazing, but very busy, so get there early.
