We visited this hotel in July this year 2006 with friends. Both of our families had children who really enjoyed the pool.

Upon arrival we were greated by the staff who are very friendly. Our luggage was taken to our room by the porter who was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very clean , the chambermaids cleaned the rooms every day leaving clean towels. They would also come and turn your beds down for when you came back late at night. This was a nice touch.

The animation team work very very hard to keep all entertained from morning up till the bar closes at 12 midnight.

Overall the food, hotel, pool and animation team are all fantastic. I have got no negative points about this hotel at all.

We also did the tour over to Cairo to visit the pyramids I would strongly suggest you give it a try.

We booked this through our Thomson rep at the hotel.

A fantastic holiday and we would go back again.

We stayed at the Cypria bay as we got married at Aya Kyriaki church on June 13th. The hotel is extremly clean and has a lovely pool. We did change room once as we had paid for a sea view and instead had a view of the construction site next door!

The hotel being built next door is nearly finnished and does not cause any disruption or dust etc. Staff were very helpful and it looked as though in our last few days a new animation team was brought in to liven up the entertainment and provide activities in the coming school hols.

Although it was a 25min walk to the main harbour area there are plenty of shops and restaurants within 5 mins walk (and thats with a buggy!)

The food was always well cooked and a good variety provided every night although breakfast was always the same, but not a problem as there was still so much to choose from.

We stayed at the Riu Cypria Bay from May 24th 2006 through to the 7th June. Myself and my parnter got married at the town hall during our stay.

We opted for this hotel at the point of booking as we had heard good reports upon it. As there was quite alot travelling in our party roughly 70 in total even though not all were staying at this hotel we wanted to bring them all in for the day of the reception.

We had to pay cyp20 for each guest to come into the hotel for the day and that would entitle them to all the benifits of an all inclusive guest i.e all drink and food. We arranged this with the help of Kristos the manager who was helpful in everyway.

We found the hotel to be really clean and tiday at all times. We paid more for a sea view room and it was well worth it.

The cleaners made a great jopb of cleaning the room each day and leaving little notes for you on the bed with decorated towels.

As we were all inclusive we had all our meals at the hotel restaurant now for the first few days this was fine but there after it got too much. All of our party felt the same in the sense that there was no variety with the food they didn't cater for all types. We then started to eat out more and never had breakfast or dinner in the hotel at all.

The location of the hotel is not too bad never have a taxi from the hotel always flag one down outside you will always get one. They charge you more from the hotel and always ask the fare before getting in. We felt it was too far to walk into the paphos harbour and often got cabs.

I previously read about building work next to the hotel and this is a present nothing to worry about the hotel has been built they are just adding the final touches. The staff at the hotel do a fantastic job especially all the bar attendants who literally never stop.

There is a definate shortage of staff on the bars. We became very friendly with Lilly, Jay, and Jack who between them made each trip to the bar plesurable.

The entertainment at the hotel is ok we had read various reports as to how bad it was. They have definatly made it better and again these guys work so hard they never stop they did Grease and Cabaret both while we were out there and yes perhaps not everyones cup of tea but you can't deny them that they tried. All entertainment in the evening is done in the Falcon nightclub which is next to the restaurant. I

'm glad we stayed at this hotel as it truly has the best pool facilities in Paphos all that let it down was the food. I had an amazing time as we got married there and it was a truly magical day.

Have just come back from a weeks holiday which was lovely but would have been perfect if the weather had of been better.

Could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel and all staff were very friendly and helpful.

Entertainment was good which suited all ages.

Our Thompson Rep was also very approachable and helpful and was always around if we needed anything and considering he had only been there a month he did a good job.

Would love to go back to Cyprus again but next time it would have to be when the weather is guarenteed to be better

We have never booked all inclusive before and were a bit apprehensive at first as to reports we had heard previously about drunkenness and slobbery with the free drink at similar places, but the price we paid couldn't be sniffed at. How delighted we were to find that this hotel had a strict code of conduct regarding behaviour and every resident conducted themselves perfectly.

Not having to pay for everything we touched was a bit of a novelty at first but we soon got used to it.

Firstly the hotel was pleasantly sited with lovely grounds and a fabulous swimming area both inside and out, and a gym, although the weather was uncharacteristically cold while we were there and very few used the outside pool.

Food, rooms, staff and cleanliness could not be faulted, with towels etc changed every day and little personal extra's like making the towel into the shape of an animal on the beds showing that they take that little extra time with their residents.

This is the first hotel we have used where we could honestly say that we could find nothing whatsoever wrong.

The hotel was very clean, comfortable and very well run.

The food was great and the drinks where fine, just like any other AI.

The location is a bit out of the way but the hotel is on a bus route.

The bedrooms are well maintained and the house keeping staff are very pleasant.

The entertainment was mediocre but no different to alot of hotels we have been in.

One thing to warn you about, don't change money in the hotel as the banks give you a better rate.

The overall look of the hotel is lovely.

The pool area is large and you cam get pool towels when ever you wish.

This hotel is much nicer than the sister hotel next door. A very nice place to stay and relax

The Cypria Maris has been gradually been in decline from the second year Riu took over the management for it from DH Cyprotels. It is being closed from November 2006 to March 2007 for refurbishment work that has been needed for about 4 years to it in certain areas of the hotel, having said this alot of the hotel is very nice, but not necessarily to everyone's taste.

The staff are always friendly but lots are now all Russian or Eastern European, they always used to be Cypriot until Riu took over.

The food is OK but their isn't a lot of choice and it is very much the same day after day. but what there is is to a good standard.

The Cypria Maris may not appeal to everybody's taste but me and my family have visited it for the past 9 years over Christmas and the New Year when it has been open and I can honestly say hand on heart I wouldn't go to a different hotel in Paphos.

When you arrive it just feels like home and you can sit around feeling perfectly comfortable unlike some of the other hotels which are all marble and bright, but you don't get the warm feeling like you do at the Cypria Maris.

First impression was of a rather dark and slightly tired, decrepid decor. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and like the reception area had very low lighting levels, only one electrical socket and no balcony lighting at all.

The pool area with its green, cloudy water was like a lot of te things in the hotel in need of updating - trip hazards like rusty manhole covers enhanced my view.

If the hotel is upgraded please don't turn it into the clinical monster next door more like a hospital tan a hotel.

The gardens with shade provided by trees plus free loungers was excellent.

The staff were on the whole friendly and willing to assist and offer advice etc.

Meals were the best part - my waisteline is proof!

Excellent food well prepared with plenty of choices.
Entertainment was dire. We escaped out of the hotel because we found the bar prices too high.

Our holidy rep. seemed to expext us to search for rathe than someone actually visiting. Our rep. seemed to be on "auto pilot" and showed no interest in us as clients unless we were spending money on trips etc.

Would we return - of course. In spite of problems we had a great time!

The choice of food in the hotel was great a wide variety for breakfast did not have anything to eat of an evening as went into town.

The maid service was fantastic the rooms were cleaned every day towels changed whenever you wanted also you are supplied beach towels which you change at reception when needed.

Found the staff to be very friendly always asked how the room was and how we were enjoying our holiday nothing was too much trouble for them.

Entertainment was practically none existent

Would return to this hotel as it is situated far enough away from the main nightlife takes about 30mins to walk to the harbour which was ok.

We have just returned from this fantastic hotel, both myself and my partner are very fussy about quality and food, but this really was very worthy of its' 4 star rating.

The pool was definitely the best ever, the 4 jacuzzi pools in the swim up bar were very enjoyable to escape the afternoon intense sun, but I must admit, most of the other residents agreed that it should be made adult only as the children jumping in was a bit annoying when you're trying to relax. As we went in the school holidays, I suppose it was to be expected.

I have stayed at many all inclusives in Mexico, Majorca etc. and this was the best food option we have ever had, even the ice-creams were free!

The food was fresh and cooked on a grill during the day and of the evening. If you couldn't find anything to eat then I would be very surprised.

The rooms were impeccable, thought the carpets along the corridors were a nice touch and what you should expect from a 4 star really.

The air conditioning was a life saver as the temperatures outside even at night were unbelievable.

Didn't really see the entertainment too busy chatting in the reception bar, but I believe I didn't really miss a great deal.

If you go at a peak time like we did during the kids holidays, be ready for a battle for the sun beds. Don't get me wrong, there were loads of them there but just not enough for every guest when the hotel was full.

Some of the staff were a bit miserable but if you give them a little tip they do give you a smile !

Definitely recommend this place, and we will be going back again.
