We stayed at the hotel a few months after it had been built and we had one of our best holidays here.

The hotel is set out beautifully, the rooms are tidy, spacious and of top quality.

The pools both indoor and out are of top quality, the gym is slightly small and the beach is not the best.

The hotel is a short walk into the harbour and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hi,
Having browsed these boards for almost the past two years and found out a lot of useful information from them I thought I should give something back and post a review of the Rui Cypria Bay Hotel, Paphos which I stayed at from the 9th -23rd June 2004.

The Cyrpia Bay hotel was only opened in 2003 and is the sister hotel to the older Cypria Maris hotel which is right next door.
The hotel is well up to its 4 star rating and anyone who is booked to go to there will have a great time. The hotel itself is only a 15-20 minute transfer from the airport and we were greeted with a lovely ice cold orange juice at the reception and were shown to our rooms. The staff in this hotel are some of the most friendly I have ever came across and I have stayed in many hotels of this standard in differnt resorts/countries. The rooms are well furnished and the fittings are all still very new. The rooms have a TV (english channels Euronews/BBC World),Pay Mini-bar, Safe (1.50CYP per night to hire), wonderful air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Shortly after going to our rooms we received a call from reception asking if we were satisfied with the rooms. Beach towels are provided free of charge in the bedroom and can be changed at the reception or the indoor leisure centre anytime.
There are 219 rooms in this hotel and 500 sunbeds with 250 umbrellas so no reserving of sunbeds is ever required which is great!
The food in the hotel is good and always well cooked( i.e the hot food is hot!) although perhaps the variety could be better although we never went wanting for something to eat. Dinner is two sittings 6.30- 8.00pm and 8.30pm-10.00pm- you can choose whichever you wish. Breakfast is 7.00am -10.00am.
Just one note of caution maybe, Rooms 1101-1125 and 1178-1179 are directly above the hotels nightclub although the music tended to finish anytime between 11.00pm and 12.15am so it was never really a problem to us. We were in Room 1118 which is a corner room and considerably bigger than the others and on the ground floor level, so I would recommend this room!
If anyone has any queries on the hotel of indeed Paphos then I will respond as best I can.

Jim

We have been to Cyprus many times, and I can quite honestly say this is our favourite hotel. The staff fall over themselves to help you. The rooms are spotless and the king-size beds are to die for. The pool is fabulous. one word of warning, the poolside snacks are very dear, but there is a great little sanwich kiosk just across the road. The food is great particularly the breakfasts and the service in the restaurant excellent.

From the minute you arrive and sip your welcome drink in the courtyard style reception you know your holiday is going to be a winner.

The entertainment is not brilliant, but you can go nect door to the Cypria Bay or take a stroll.

Any regrets? Well we only went for a week, so we have booked for two weeks for May 2005.

I first stayed in this hotel in 1995, and we liked it so much we went back the following year. Things haven't changed much in the 8 years since I last went to it, although the staff are familiar.

This hotel is fantastic.

I came here with my girlfriend on our first holiday together and we loved it. 2003 was a hot year.

This hotel is about 30 mins walk from the harbour and there is a bar opposite which we indulged in.

The first time I went to this hotel, we stayed in the main rooms itself, however last year we stayed in one of the outside bungalows which were just as pleasant if not more.

The food was good, albeit a lack of "English" touch- you don't get sausages- you get frankfurters instead.

The staff are brilliant, very helpful and they can make a mean milkshake at the pool bar!

The hotel really isn't designed for entertainment, we went into Paphos town a lot at nights, either getting the bus or walking it! But there is a bar inside and opposite over the road, and the complex did have a pool table etc etc.

This timeless hotel is lovely, and although I'm not sure I would go again because I want to try others, but for those who want to go for the first time, yes do go! PS, the swimming pool is huge!
