Expert Opinion

Paphos is a picturesque town with a small harbour. There are lots of touristy shops and restaurants along the front but you can venture into the back streets for other options, or into Paphos old tow…

Paphos itself was lovely, very safe to walk around at anytime of the day.
Hassled by the restaurant staff to eat with them on an evening but it is the same anywhere in the med.
Beaches were clean on the whole, lots of seaweed on the more secluded beaches but sea lovely and clean.
Lots of places to eat and get shade but more especially for the kids to get ice cream.

We only visited Paphos twice, we chose to spend our time at the hotel but we did venture down to the man-made sea pool and beach once or twice. There were watersports, jet skis, etc, a beach bar and small beach. It was very nice. Paphos itself is your normal med town - the new harbour area is lovely, all paved, with restaurants and bars speckled around it. Alot of tacky touristy shops selling the same things - didn't see many authentic shops but I think you have to go furter into Paphos for that. We decided to visit in the middle of the day so after an hour or so we were so hot we had to return to the hotel to cool off. We did return at night by taxi (buses too hot)- it was lovely, all lit up with the restaurants bustling with people. A nice place to visit if you like heat!!

could only rate beach standard as 2 as access only avaliable through building site, catch the bus across the road and go to coral bay, stay on bus to the very last stop the beach is much quieter, paphos is paphos if you have been before you will no what its like if not you will love it,plenty of developement on going but dont let that put you off, enjoy you holiday

Paphos is a wonderful resort. And the alterations making the harbour area non-cars is a great improvement.

Resort great for single, couples and families. And has something to offers all ages.

I have been there 14 times, and have already booked to go to Paphos in 2009. Can't wait.

Paphos has changed over the years we have been coming.
But have to say for the better. The pedestrian harbour area looking good, and much better for your evening stroll
or pub crawl.

Would highly recommend a stay here. Good for couples,
families and children. Something here for everyone.

i was amazed by how clean the resort was!!
The bus service is very good and for 1 euro 50 you can go anywhere in paphos. there is a bus stop next to the church opposite the phone boxes that will take you down to coral bay. it is about a 20 min drive away but well worth it.
as it was so hot most of the time was spent in the sea, but sunbeds are reasonably priced. there is a vast sellection of water sports on offer which were great fun but beware of the people who are in charge of these. they are so arrogant and rude!!

down at the harbour for 80 euros an hour you can hire speed boats for 6 people. this was excellent, so much fun.

As they drive on the left i would recommend hiring a car, or for the more daring thgey had plenty of quad bikes to hire out.

the waterpark is also a great day out with all the usual slides, kamakarzie, black whole, slides with infalables, lazy river and wave pool.Next to the waterpark is a go-carting place which looked good.

Nighlife was very good. bubbles bar is good fun and before ten thirty its happy hour- two cocktails for 5 euros.
starskys night club has a foam party regular and flares was great for garage and rnb music. Had mcs such as pide piper whilst we were there. Down by the harbor and at the bottom of bar st there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, also many restaurants and bars can be found on tomb of kings rd but i never tried these so cant comment.

The only downside of this resort was that it was so far to get to a decent beach, other than that it would be the perfect holiday destination.

The harbour is very nice with many bars and restaurants, you can book sundancer cruises from the Akti but they are very good value for money and although it says you have to pay 2 Euro each person for the bus they never asked us for the money. As I have repeatedly stated you will need a hire car if you want to explore outside the hotel!
