Expert Opinion

Paphos is a picturesque town with a small harbour. There are lots of touristy shops and restaurants along the front but you can venture into the back streets for other options, or into Paphos old tow…

The beach isn't very big and is covered in seaweed. Coral Bay is a nicer beach, and is a small distance on the bus. Went to the old Market at the old Paphos town ,wasn't too bad. Went on a glass bottom book, saw a sunken ship but no fish. The Restaurants were the best part of the holiday. Tai Fusion and Chloes Chinese Restaurants are the best places to eat. The weather was lovely 30-35 most days. Ayia Napa is nicer and has better beaches in my opinion.

Lot of developments near the harbour area. Taxi drivers are also a rip off, many over charging for a short journey, e.g. 8 euros for 4 minute journey.

Much has changed since we were last in Paphos, the waterfront has been pedestrianised which is much better than it used to be. There are plenty of pubs and resturants to choose from. The local bus service runs every 15 mins so no trouble getting about. The area is clean and tidy, if you want entertainment there is plenty about if you just want a quiet drink you can find that as well. There is no actuall beach in kato paphos but there is an area where there are sunbeds and a changing area with showers by the area which has been pedestrianised. Love the area would deffinately go back.

This was our first time to Cyprus, and whAT CAN I SAY, PAPHOS IS BEAUTIFUL, the cypriots are very friendly, the harbour is very pretty with lots of small tavernas, and nice fish restaurants, we tended to go were the locals ate and drank, so we knew it would be a good deal. All in all the resort is a must for couples and families, there are no lager louts falling all over the place, we loved it and will be going back soon.

just a few words it was all so very expensive, we thought it was just us thinking it was so expensive, but talking to other mums in the pool, they all said the same thing, unless we do half board or inclusive we wouldn't come to Cyprus again , how ever much we tried to cut down, all the meals seam to come out 50 60 ish euros each night, this was burger and chips for the boys i would have scampi and my hubby would have gammon, no starters or desserts, 2 round of cokes.or may been 2 beers.
Building work was going on right next to the beach so we didn't brother to stay on the beach,

We would say after being to the other side of the island that Pathos is for the older generation. There isn't a lot for families to do. We went to Pathos bird park which was ok but nothing special and as it was a stinking hot day 39degrees there was know where to shade. We went on a free transfer from our hotel so only paid the entrance fee. You pick up at lots of other hotels on route its like a mystery tour they drop you there at about 11am and pick you up again at 3pm, 4 hours is way too long. Don't waste your money and go to the aquarium it's a load of rubbish for whats inside it. If you want beaches go to the other side of the island as its all rocks and building sand at this side (not nice). They have finished the pedestrian walkway along the harbour and it is a nice walk. If you fancy a night out for a fantastic meal go to Chloes chinese restaurant the food is fab and the decor and staff are ace!! Not a lot to do along the harbour except to look in shops with all the same things. It was a lovely walk from our hotel along the beach paths to the harbour but did take at least 45 minutes, and it's not right to the harbour. There are recognised shops here - Debenhams, Peacocks, Starbucks, McDonalds etc. Also up in the old town there is a Debenhams, Next, Mango etc. We would say Pathos is ideal for older people (couples).

Paphos is a lovely place with a delightful harbour which has plenty of souvenir shops and also some English chains like Debenhams and Next. The town is really easily accesible by the local buses which are very inexpensive. OK there is a smattering of novelty pubs/bars but also some very nice fish restaurants as well as a new Japanese/Thai.

The resort is very clean in itself, however we did not visit the beach. Pahos Harbour is lovely but I dont think there is a lot to do there.
