Take a torch for night-time. Returning to the hotel at night is dangerous.

Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

Protaras is a lively resort full of karaoke bars, restaurants and shops and has some lovely beaches including fig tree bay. Pernera also has some lovely shops , bars and restaurants to visit and is a lovely 15 minute coastal walk from the hotel. All in all, would definately return to this resort.

protaras is a great place for all the family, good places to eat and reasonably priced. There is one main strip with plenty of bars with entertainment on every night. The beach is nice but is a good 15 mins walk from sweet memories you can get a bus, which is advisable on the way back in the heat and the one beach is up hill coming back.

Protaras is a beautiful resort with an outstanding beach. Everyone is friendly (apart from the cow at reception) and are willing to help you. What is great is that they dont have idiots trying to get you into their bars like some other resorts do. You can have a peacefull stroll up and down the strip and not be hasseled. There are plenty of themed bars to visit, like a friends bar and an only fools and horses bar. Would definatley visit again only book a different hotel!!

Protaras and Fig Tree Bay are lovely for all ages. The main town centre had some fantastic restaurants, the best one being right near the luna park, on the corner, can't remember its name, but it looked posh, but was very good value for money and the food so fantastic that we drove back on our last night from Ayia Napa to have a meal again. The beach was lovely but way too packed, and people were sitting on inflatables if they could put them on a bit of sand. This was mid september, when all the schools and teens had gone!!

Protarus is a reaaly good resort with plenty of bars & restraunts, there is a light & laser show every night which is a must visit, the bars have entertainment of some kind every night with plenty of big screens for sport, the baeches are fabulous fig tree bay is about a 20 minute walk but protarus beach is just as nice but nearer & quieter we used to settle in front of the sunrise beach hotel, the water is fabulous.

I didn't really like Cyprus to be honest, mainly because it's a four and a half hour flight from the UK but it offered no more that the Balearics or even Spain itself which is half the distance. Also, it's dearer and much hotter and more humid, so not pleasant at all really.
Protarus itself is nothing special, but it seemed safe, friendly and clean. Fig Tree Bay is lovely, but tiny and overcrowded. There are plenty of beach top bars and cafe's to use for lunch and snacks.
Not a lot of entertainment here really, we went to the dancing waters show, at the northern end of the main strip, that was £6 each well spent, a good show for an hour, they serve drinks while you watch a light show with pyrotechnics and fountains, set to music.
One escape is the day trip to Cairo, bookable in estate agents in the strip (you can book hire cars in there as well for fairly good rates), a really great 23 hour trip (it's three hours by coach each way to the airport) 4am pick up to 3 am drop off, but so well organsised, you see all the really good bits, Pyramids, Spinx, Tutankamun etc. Plus a Nile pleasure boat cruise. A bit pricey though at £200 each. A cheaper option is the 3 day cruise trip.
Nice, I enjoyed the holiday, but won't be returning.
