Take a torch for night-time. Returning to the hotel at night is dangerous.

Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

Protaras is quiet compared to Agia Napia which is great for families, lots of people walking the strip late at night with there families. Most of the bars have entertainment or football on.
There are lots of restaurants with different cuisine to choose from and the meals tend to be very large.
This was not a cheap holiday, the general cost was equivalent if not more than in the UK.
The beaches at Fig Tree Bay are sandy and clean but very busy, very hot and the sun loungers, parasols etc are not cheap. The beaches at the end of the Protaras resort tend to be quieter as they are pebbly. The sea is lovely and warm, clean and shallow with lots of fish to see. Great for snorkelling, diving and the many watersports that are available.

Protaras is a very lovely place, so lovely that after visiting there 3 times already I wouldn't hesitate to go back there again and again!!
A very clean resort, very friendly people, no ticket touts anywhere and no one trying to pull you in to their pub or restaurant!
Lovely restaurants, especially the Red Indian and Romeos and a special mention to the Parko restaurant just outside the Alva apartments, very nice indeed!!
Bars were quite good, however we did get quite sick of the Elvis, Kylie and Robbie impersonators at nearly every bar we went past!! A must is a visit to the Love Boat pub when its the hypnotist evening....Just don't wear make up.....you'll laugh it all off!!!!
The beach at Fig tree bay is beatiful, lots of water sports and lovely clean sea, however it does get very busy so you need to get down there very early to get a decent spot.
I would and indeed "Will" go back to Cyprus in a couple of years....LOVE IT!!!!!

Protaras is the best resort we have ever stayed in, there is something for everyone!!
The food in all the restaurants was lavly, i would definetly say that romeo taverna, the red indian diner and chi chis mexican restaurant were the best for evening meals, and only fools and horses and cheers were the best places for breakfasts...the only problem in cheers is they bring too much food so you dont want to go in the pool for about 6 hours because youre that full up afterwards!!
We would definetly go back to Protaras...we've alredy been there 3 times and theres no doubt that we will go back for more!! xxx

The Marlita beach hotel is in a very quiet area some 1.5km outside Protaras, having last been in Protaras 7 years ago.
I was fairly disappointed to find it seemed to have become fairly untidy and the streets seemed to have litter dumped at the sides, and the bars just seemed to be themed bars i.e Elvis etc.
The beach at the Marlita is very small, and to walk in to fig tree bay during the day was a bit of a hike in the heat of August, but the swimming pool was good with plenty of space and sunbeds in the grassed area to the rear.

Good safe resort,we like it because we have teenage sons who can go off by themselves on the strip and we know they are allways in touching distance from us. Been 2 years running now and think some of the bars could do with some new acts.
Elvis is ok but he's in most bars twice a week so whatever night it is you normally see an Elvis.Parko resturant was our favourite as you eat in garden surrounding outside with good food which is also reasonably priced.
Beach is good for kids but there are quite a few rocky areas in the sea, best place is in front of Sonrise hotel which is rock free.

On first impressions Protaras strip looked fun and had never experienced a “strip” before. However the novelty soon wore off. Fine if you want English breakfast, English grub and endless Only Fools and Horses and Friends and karaoke. Only thing to do apart from sit in a bar was mini golf. The dining itself in the resort is limited and fairly bland. One of the “Italian” restaurants served curried lasagne. Have to say would never return to this resort again, but if you like this type of holiday you will probably love it. Having two young children I do not feel this strip is the best for family entertainment.
I did find that the beach was extremely crowded as it is only a small beach but the water was beautiful. However I noticed the bins remained overflowing and did not appear to be emptied.

Protaras was a great holiday, Fig Tree bay was gorgeous and sunbeds only C£1.25 per person for the day which is cheap compared to how much everything else cost! We did find it to be an expensive place but were prepared for this as we'd been told before! A meal for two cost on average C£20. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, particularly steak houses. Try the Raj Indian on the main road, very nice! There is plenty to do for families and couples alike. All the people were really friendly too!

Protaras is lovely. The weather is incredible. The resturants and bars perfect and the food delicious. Our only complaint was that the beach wasn't cleaned as often as it should've been. There tended to be a lot of fag ends in the sand which isn't nice. It didn't stop us lazing the days away there though. The sea is warm and great for swimming and playing about in. It gets quite deep which is good. There are also loads of watersports on offer. Overall I give the resort 9/10.

Protaras is a very clean environment and it was only when we wnet over to Larnaka for the day did we realise how lucky we were.
We did not take in much of the entertainment across the resort but we spent much of the evening walking about Pernia/Protaras and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The magic dancing water attraction is very good, but me and the missus had a major dis-agreement about the value for money, and also the table service for drinks is dire.
We only visitied one beach, primarily for my 18 month old daughter to experience the Sea for her first time - but it was very clean and tidy - but a little cramped. Pernia Bay I think or something similliar.
