Take a torch for night-time. Returning to the hotel at night is dangerous.

Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

The resort of Protaras is beautiful and very nice for families or those wanting a laid back holiday.Lots of different bars and restaraunts ,we had lovely meals in Romeos (check out the greek night), Da Sonia , Anatolia,Island affair and Parko but sadly on our last night we chose the prince restaraunt which is on the right if you are heading towards mcdonalds ,about halfway between.I don't know if we just picked a bad night but the service was rotten and the food even worse,we waited ages for our starters and even longer for our main course and could not help but notice that lots of other customers waited even longer! Not one of our 4 meals was nice and we wasted loads of our last night in there as they were so slow.I would definately give the prince a miss as there are so many other lovely places.
There are 3 small amusement parks and we played mini golf in 2 of them , great fun.
We booked excursions from one of the local travel shops and it was considerably cheaper than through airtours for example our jeep safari to the Troodos mountains was 7 cyprus pounds per adult cheaper and was a great day out.We also visited the water park in Aiya Napa and went on the glass bottom boat that goes to show you Famagusta (incredible ) and takes you for a swim off cap greco.
The beach gets very busy on a weekend but the water is crystal clear so a few midweek visits are a must.We found that as we were so close we tended to pop down there after 3 or 4 o'clock when the sun was not so fierce.

We stayed just outside Protaras and went into the centre on a few occasions. Clean, lively and a good selection of bars, restaurants etc. A bit too 'English' for my liking but at least there was a good selection of restaurants to suit every taste. Beaches lovely, clear water and very clean.

The hotel is situated in Pernera, a few minutes walk from Protaras.
There are plenty of pubs putting on different nightly shows for the young or old.
The nearest sandy beach is about 10 min walk away in Protaras but there are numerous sandy coves within easy walking distance of the hotel.
We have regularly visited this resort for the last 4 years (staying in different hotels)and it seems to be growing each time we go back but it still retains it's easy going atmosphere unlike Protaras which is slowly turning into Ayia Napa at night !!

Protaras was a nice place, the beach was lovely with plenty of watersports which I thought were reasonably priced. There is a small waterpark in Protaras which was ideal for us as we could sunbathe and let our 10 year old daughter wander safely within eye contact at all times. It was very clean, not too busy and the staff were really friendly and helpful. On your first visit you were given a 25% discount card for subsequent visits which meant that 2 adults and a child were admitted for £15. I thought it was good value for a day out ( or even a half day ) as it was only a 20 minute walk for us.

Pernera is just outside of Protaras but only costs 55 cents each(about 70p)on the bus. Enough to do & places to eat in Pernera if you dont want the hustle&bustle of the main street in Protaras with all the souvenir shops etc. The beach is just a short walk away from the hotel and is quiet&clean. 2 sunbeds & a parasol can be hired for £3.75CY (about £4.25) per day & is so worth it as the sand is screaming hot! The sea is very shallow and so really safe for the young 'uns.Take a snorkel/goggles to see the fish. Just enough hotels in the area and not over- developed. Hope it stays that way. We will definitely be coming back.

Protaras is lovely and has something for everyone. Excellent restuarants and would definitely consider B.B next time. Beautiful beaches and crystal clear water. I would recommend the small boat for the boat trip as it was very good value and we were made to feel very welcome.

absolutley loads going on,literally two minutes from the hotel.
the beach wasn't exactly a beach, more of a shingle cove, even so plenty of places to relax, not at all crowded unlike some of the other beaches we visited.
go there, you'll enjoy it,i promise.
