Try to get a sea view room overlooking the lovely gardens and sea.
The buffet is excellent and we did not get sick.
Amazing place.

You must upgrade to the best rooms, as all rooms in need of new furniture and decor etc. must have a seaborne or pool view room too.
Charging for wifi in this day and age is disgusting hotels just making money out of you for all extras.

Staff very helpful, good food, rooms very clean. The staff go out of their way to help you day or night. Try the Italian restaurant, it has good steak and you will go back again.

Deluxe & Superior rooms in the main hotel.
Room 1210, spacious and quiet over looking the swimming pool.
Onions is a good restaurant to try, but being on the all inclusive, we did not try, but a lot of guests did.

Even number rooms face the sun, odd number rooms are on the dark side and never see the sun.

Not much around this area. Naama Bay and Old Sharm are accessible by taxi.

Naama Bay, you do get people asking you where you are from, and that they have friends all over England which is quite funny.
Haggle as much as possible, we started about a 1/4 of the price that they started from. They work your way up.
Clean and friendly place, Hard Rock cafe was good, around GBP18.00 for 1 x Cocktail, 1 x beer 2 x meals. Really quite cheep.
Have a great time.

Sharm el Sheikh is the nicest resort I've stayed in ,this was my second visit and I will definalty be going back.
Staying at the Novotel you are near everything.
If you do stay here I really recommend you go for a drink at the Sofitel hotel to see the sun set -amazing. Your allowed in the complex as it is the sister hotel to Novotel.
The bar is like a round wooden ornate bird cage and is up on the cliff top. Grab yourself a cocktail and watch the amazing sunset. Not many english go to Sharm and in a way you come away not wanting to share it with anyone , I'm sure in ten years time it will be overrun with Brits, so I shouldn't really be sharing all this with you so keep it to yourselves!!!

Friends of ours went to Naama Bay in December 04 so we had a pretty good idea what it would be like and we weren't disappointed. The resort itself was spotlessly clean. Only saw a couple of stray dogs in the week we were there and never any dogs mess.
Naama Bay Beach is a lovely sandy beach, which gently shelves into the sea. There are a couple of good little snorkelling spots just off the shore where we saw Lion fish, Parrot fish and loads of other brightly coloured fish.
The beach is divided up into hotels and some of the hotels won't let you use their beds unless you are a resident. I can't remember the name of the hotel where we used the sunbeds but they were clean, and cheaply priced.
We did a snorkelling trip which was really good aboard the "Sharmella". The staff were great fun and it was a very informative day out and The Red Sea is amazing. We have snorkelled on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the Red Sea beats it hand down!
Another must to see a bit of the "real" Egypt is to go to the Old Market. All the taxi drivers know where it is and its very busy and noisy and an assault on the senses. The butchers shop might upset some people as there were chickens in cages, rabbits in cages and turkeys wandering around all ready for a customer to pick one out to be slaughtered.
If you do go to the Old Market you must go to the Sinai Star restaurant. Its a fish restaurant which doesn't have a menu, you get told what they have when you arrive and it doesn't serve alcohol but there is a bottle shop next door and they don't mind you taking your own. We paid 135LE (roughly £13.50) for a huge fish platter. There were two small lobsters, two fillets of fish, around 20 grilled prawns with chilli and a huge mound of calamari. With this we got a bottle of water, four flatbreads, a plate of Tahini and a plate of Salad. What a bargain and very delicious.
Another good restaurant (the name of which escapes me now) is on top of The Hard Rock Cafe in Naama Bay. Typical Egyptian fare, very reasonably priced, no one trying to drag you in. Here we tried Pigeon which was very nice (too many bones though!) and Koshari which is a typical Egyptian dish of noodles, bean shoots, garlic, tomato, chilli and other spices. Yum!
We both had a funny tummy one morning after eating at the Bedouin Restaurant - even though we had different dishes - so not sure whether the cutlery wasn't clean/whether basic hygiene rules were being followed - but we were both fine after an hour or so.
AND try Sheesha pipes, they are great!

The resort was fairly quiet and you only have to walk a little way to get to the markets and bazars
The resort is being built on (adding more hotels etc.) so there is a few places were rubble and bricks are around- but it doesn't get in the way and the pavements are clean.
The beach was brilliant and really clean although the sand is in some places a little rough-but you usally wear beach shoes because of coral so it doesnt matter!
We all had a fantastic holiday -the best i've had so far!!

The main area of Namma bay was close to our hotel and we visited on 2 occassions. The only dowside was the constant calls of the shop keepers to come into their shops but it was not too bad. The taxi's are a little scary but the town comes alive at night with restraunts, shops, bars and casino's

The beach at Hilton Sharks bay is a private one, small due to the coral reef that is on your doorstep.

The hotel cleanliness was great as the staff were very good, natural, and like to help.
The entertainment is good with lots of activities all day.
Beach and swimming pool is the best in all resorts that I had been in, especially the swimming pool with the waive pool and in door pool.
I would certainly go there again and recommend it to anyone.

Sharm el Sheikh has plenty to see and do for shopperholics, though the egyptians try to entise you into there shops a bit but all are good natured.
We were there for a concert held to close an airshow this was primerely for the workers of the hotels and shops but they enjoyed our presense aswell.
The sea ofcourse is great, with superb snorkelling in the bay, water temperature was good in February and saw loads of fish. We were annoyed to see people standing on the coral with no regard as to what they were on. Please if you go in the sea do not stand on the coral everyone in the future wants to enjoy this place too!
The food there is all of good quality and very cheap.
