Try to get a sea view room overlooking the lovely gardens and sea.
The buffet is excellent and we did not get sick.
Amazing place.

You must upgrade to the best rooms, as all rooms in need of new furniture and decor etc. must have a seaborne or pool view room too.
Charging for wifi in this day and age is disgusting hotels just making money out of you for all extras.

Staff very helpful, good food, rooms very clean. The staff go out of their way to help you day or night. Try the Italian restaurant, it has good steak and you will go back again.

Room 1210, spacious and quiet over looking the swimming pool.
Onions is a good restaurant to try, but being on the all inclusive, we did not try, but a lot of guests did.

Even number rooms face the sun, odd number rooms are on the dark side and never see the sun.

The hassle from the shops is good humoured and not to be feared at all! Learn a few words of Egyptian and the people love it!

Wonderful resort, very clean. The resort was more geared up to evening and night time visits. In the daytime as visitors were so few the hassle factor was high, but in the night time, the shop owners seemed quite happy to let you browse and barter at leisure.
The beach we used was private and belonged to the hotel and was extremely high standard. We did however view the other beaches whilst walking along the promenade in the bay and certainly had no problems with any of the areas. Extremely safe environment, we didn't feel unable to visit any areas and were always welcomed. The people are very friendly and really appreciate tourists.

We stayed in Naama Bay , right in the centre. lots of shops, got stopped a few times , but just say no and they leave you alone .
Lovely friendly people. wouldnt go to shrm with a group of girls though, need to travel with a male companion. went on a day trip to the desert quad biking ,brilliant , also went snorkelling on a boat trip, fantastic.
There is a lot of places to visit in sharm. Food is good their sea food is excellent found one resturant in the street meals were brilliant. A tip is always expected. I reccomend Sharm el Shiekh to couples.
Definitely returning. Lots of security since bombing.

This hotel is at the top of Sharm. There is building work throughout the coast, but the hotel complexes are so big and wide, you do not hear the building work.
We had to use the shuttle bus to get to Naama Bay it was 35 mins away, you can't go for walks outside the complex as there is nothing there, but their is a promenade type path following the coastline, so you walk past the hotels that way. Very nice in the evening as the sun is going down.

The resort area is very basic with lots of building work taking place, and entertainments are almost non existent unless taking place in a hotel.
The beach was a private beach owned by the hotel and was very well kept.

We did not really go out of the hotel much apart form on organised trips. We went into Naama Bay once on the free shuttle bus from our hotel but there were so many shops that you did not know whcih way to go. Having too young children with us they found the experience quite frightening but I think that it was an experience and as I said we only went once and did not have a meal or anything as we were all inclusive in our hotel.

Sharm El Sheikh is not the real Egypt and is built for international tourists. Do not travel through the airport on a Thursday, if you can possibly avoid it! The world arrives & leaves at the same time. Its modern & clean but just cannot cope with the traffic flow.
For a safe, modern, clean holiday resort, Sharm is fine. Do not go for history, antiquties or the real Egypt. A sun tan and international setting is what its all about.
Very safe. Nice people. International food.

Naama Bay - This is a busy, thriving area, a popular tourist spot. We visited twice, and that was enough for me!
The hassle from the shop keepers to enter their shops really gets you down after a while, and it doesnt matter what you do they will not give up on you. We tried being friendly, but then they get aggressive when you say you dont want to go into their shop, we tried ignorance, and they follow you, we tried walking with our eyes to the ground and were left alone, but got pretty bored of looking at the pavement all the time!!
I would not want to go here without a man by my side. All the single women we met that had gone into Naama Bay had had nothing but hassle, and would only go in if they could tag along with a couple.
Naama Bay is purely shops and bars/cafes. There is nothing else to see here, but its worth a visit in the evening just for the bright lights, tho I did keep thinking of Blackpool!!
There is a Hard Rock Cafe which is popular and fun, but you could be anywhere in the world!!
Old Sharm Market Town - If you want to see traditional, then go here. It has a lovely atmosphere, and the shop keepers dont appear to be as aggressive as Naama Bay.
We ate at two restaurants, The Red Sea Fish Restaurant and the Sinai Fish Restaurant. Both excellent, and value for money. The first is Muslim run so no alcohol. Lots of lovely bars/cafes in the town, but always make sure you agree the price of your drinks before you sit down. If you dont you will pay LE30 (£3) for beer. If you do your beer will cost you LE10 (£1).
Haggling is a must in both Naama and Old Sharm. Stick to your guns and you will get a good deal. Never pay what they originally ask for as they are out to rip you off. Same goes for Taxi drivers.
From the airport the driver wanted £25. We got it for £10, eventually, but were told by the hotel that it should have been £8. Taxi to Old Sharm is LE25 (£2.50) its a fixed price so dont be fooled when they try to charge you more, and they will!!
Cairo - We had a day trip to Cairo by air. Was a brilliant day tho very long and tiring. Cairo has to be seen, but one word of warning, the vendors at the Pyramids will drive you nuts. They constantly hassle you to buy their wares and it can get nasty. Dont let this put you off, you have to see the pyramids to simply believe them. They are amazing. Just be aware before you get there that you may experience some aggro from Vendors, and if you think the Tourism Police will help you, think again. They took our photo for us and then wanted paying!!!! Despite this I would recommend anyone to go to Cairo.

We stayed at Sharm el Sheikh in the Nabq area golden resort. The area itself is under construction with hotels being built along the road on both sides all the way from the airport which was about a 20 minute transfer.
At no time did we hear any building work yet there was a hotel being built only 100 yds from the pool. The whole area was very clean probably because due partly that there is nothing to do close by there are a few shops 1/2 mile from the hotel but not really worth the walk.
The beach was very good the golden resort has its own bus service to the beach this might put you off don't it is only 5 minutes away and a very plesant and safe walk through the sister hotels garden.
If you want a bit of excerise there is a beach bar waiting for you clean toilets towel exchange and some glorious snorkellimg and even a safe place to paddle for those who don't swim. Would I visit again yes.
