Most rooms have pool views.
Visit Taverna Odas in the old town and The House on the main strip is brilliant for any time of the day.

The best rooms to stay are typically the ones that are located nearer the strip. Like Nefeli for example. It was 2 minutes from the night life but when you wanted to recover it was also out of the way, sharing a personal swimming pool with neighbouring ho

Make sure you buy or have air conditioning when you go.
A lot of great places and bars to visit within 15mins walking distance. Gets very hot alot of people tend to hire quad bikes to get around.

Malia centre is not for the faint hearted and is a haven for drunk adolescents on quad bikes and scooters which are hired out indiscriminately regardless of age or qualification. The main street is tolerable during the day but after dark takes on a seedy and slightly menacing aire as stewards lunge out of dimly lit club and bar doorways urging the passer by to enter and sample their alcoholic wares.
If you are looking for a traditional Greek resort I think you may be disappointed with Malia, I was.

Malia is all for the nightlife, the bars and clubs are brill. Some good restaurants aswell. I didnt like the beach we visited, it was dirty and very over-crowded.

Malia not dirty place generally clean. Many beaches to choose from, sights and trips to take. Malia plenty to do when it comes to entertainment malia is not short of, water sports, clubbing, boat trips, moutain and cave trips, trying local cusine in local tavernas, hire car sightseeing. I will mention best to stick with car rather than bikes; if going to use bikes always advise crash helmet as not like our road here. weather great people very nice, Enjoyed our time in Malia.

The resort was very nice always clean. Plenty of good bars and tavernas we had some lovely meals , your spoiled for choice there are so many . The locals are all very friendly and make you feel really welcome. Not a lot of entertainment but most bars had tvs some showing movies most just football , a few bars did quizzes . The beaches were really nice always clean and not expensive for beds. We would definately go back here again . Just a shame about the mosquitos they find me very tasty.

The resort of Malia is amazingly good fun. Wicked bars and clubs and some good places to eat. Hit Charlies bar for some good deals and cocktails, a visit to Electra/Crazy bar is beyond a must, staff are hilarious and amazing and the tunes are banging. Other bars worth a mention are zoo, Safari and Pop bar (though these may have changed names again this year). For food nothing beats the Sunday lunch at the Red Dragon, the amazing Pizza at Sirtaki, the milkshakes and chips and peppercorn sauce at the Sportsman and the all you can eat chinese/indian buffet for a last feast before the journey home.
Day times (if you don't spend them asleep) can be a little bit boring in Malia as there is not too much to do but I'd recommend a trip to the waterparks or a more cultural trip to the amazing island of Spinalonga.
Only things I would warn anyone about in Malia is don't do the beach late at night, don't be a drunk idiot brit abroad to the locals and DO NOT rent a moped, you'll look an idiot, you don't need one (it's pretty much one street) and you will probably end up being charged an absolute fortune for 'damage', normally of the invisible kind! Plus you may well end up like someone I saw last year with his skull pretty much in half after coming off.
All in all would recommend Malia to those who want to have a good time, get merry and meet some amazing new friends.
