The best Villa in Maroulas Village. River beach is a great place for sunset and to eat fish.

we were just on the outskirts of the resort - five minutes in a taxi from the harbour area and Old Town
this suited us perfectly
enough places to eat and drink without being too busy.
there is a supermarket just minutes from the apartment that sells everything you will need.
the beach is great
all in all this was one of the nicest places we have stayed.

Nearby resort Platnias has great selection of bars and skypark!!! Which you HAVE to visit for a bit of nightlife!!! All in all we had a great wee holiday in these resorts, Adele and Platnias are right next to each other well within walking distance.
Very very clean, plenty going on in both although perhaps more in Platanias where thay have lots of bars etc (Relaz was our fave!! they set their bar on fire at regular intervals)

Not really a resort as such because the Rithymna Beach has it's own private stretch of beach. The beach is not very sandy more shingle but it is very clean. A bit rocky to get into the sea though. Outside of the hotel are a number of supermarkets and souvenir shops, and also some bars and restaurants. A very busy road though which can be quite difficult to cross.

Rethymno is a lovely area, the people were very relaxed and you never got hasselled, the local resturants/taverna's are excellent and good value for money - try Kyria Maria's for cheap and cheerful Greek food (the Mynah's birds name is Nico, but he will let you know this quite quickly!)Or for a special meal try the Veneto Resturant or Erofili (opposite the Catholic Church). The Venetian fort is lovely - so peaceful now with wonderful views over the town, and the nearby museum is also worth a look. I would like to recommend a little walk organised by the people who run the little tourist train at the end of the main "strip", we wnt with them to do a small gorge walk at Myloi (20 euros per person) which was excellent - however be warned it can be very steep and very wet so wear a pair of trainers! This walk only takes a morning so no where near as strenuous as the famous gorge walks. We also did a couple of organised tours to Knossos and Phaestos which though expensive (you can do cheaper deals in town) were worth a visit.

REthymno is an excellent resort. There are many resturaunts and the 7 that we tried over our holiday were all excellent. Rethymno has a stunning fort and old town. The beach is very well organised, clean and had showers. The sea is shelves gently and there is little currents and waves so it is safe for children. There is little or none nightclubs which make it quiet. A great resort for families and couples.

Plenty of bars and Tavernas here and lots of shops and night life. beaches are better to the west of the town.

The resort was lovely very quiet a few bars and restaurants but enough to keep you busy.
The Marina is lovely of an evening and the small greek tavernas are lovely for a few drinks. There are plenty of shops along cobbled little streets beautiful.
This I feel is typical greece. the beach is more shingle than sand but still easy on your feet and they are clean and extremely well kept.

Rocky inlets and harbours but not a good beach

The resort itself is dominated by the two major hotels so everything tends to revolve around them. This is a nice spot though!

I have been to Rethymnon twice now and have loved it both times! The locals are the friendliest anywhere in the world! There are LOADS of bars, restaurants and places to visit! Lots of good designer shops too! (proper ones, i'm only young myself,22,so i know what im on about) plenty of watersports further up the beach away from this hotel itself. FABULOUS PLACE. BOOK NOW, i would if i had enough money to go again!
