We stayed in Faliraki and we were worried about the reputation. However it has been cleaned up and was more family centred in 2004. We went to the Water Park for a day which was brilliant! We spent a lot of time in the Alabama Bar on the walk down to the town. It had great good fun entertainment during the evening. Did not go to any nightclubs at the resort but went to lots of different restaurants and only had poor service/food in one.

The clubs were brilliant, you dont even get hassled that much from reps on the street at night which is great, burgers bars on every corner, so if you fancied a munch you are in luck, beach is huge so pick your spot an relax.

Kalithea was very clean and Faliraki, which I expected to be jumping, was extremely quiet. It was a bit too tatty for our taste so we only went there once. Nothing was happening anyway, at least if there was entertainment we couldn't find it. All we saw were mostly empty bars playing very loud music. It did have a nice amusement park for the children.
The beach standard at the hotel was pretty pebbly. The hotel supermarket sold special shoes for wandering down to the water - no wonder! It was agony. However, the water sports were right outside the hotel and very good - it was just the horror of staggering over the boiling hot pebbles to get to them.
I would recommend this resort particularly to families with young children as it was very much orientated towards them. Couples might find it a bit noisy. I would visit again but the world is a big place and there are other places to go so - not next year.

There's something for everyone in Faliraki. It's still very much aimed at the younger end of the market with it's bars and clubs but as a family we still found plenty to do.
There was the waterpark, a funfair, go karts and mini golf as well as a great sandy beach with plenty of watersports and safe bathing. A lot of the bars just had karaoke which wears thin after a while but we found some that had a bit of variety. Plenty of taverna's to choose from to eat in, a few decent shops, a road train whihc gives you a half hour tour of the resort.
Having found some previous resorts lacking in places to walk and things to do, Faliraki was the total opposite.
A great time had by all.

When we booked and i heard the press reports about faliraki i thought i had made a mistake but because it was all inclusive and the exceptional deal i just thought what the heck and gave it a try.
I am glad i did plenty to see and do so much so that we will be back to rhodes in August.
I recommend castalan restaurant as it is superb value and extremely friendly staff and so close to the hotel and we has set meals for 2 for just 16 euros including drinks say hello from the yorkshire couple.

On the plus side Faliraki was not how it is portrayed by the media, although with children we did not partake in the night life we did take a walk around the town at night and to our surprise it was not mayhem like we had been led to beleive and as we went at the same time as Euro 2004 was in full swing the pubs and streets were pretty calm. The beaches were clean and not crowded and there were plenty of watersports to take part in. On the down side the resort was rundown doing it no favours at all, it was clean but very unkept.

The resort is perfect for young people looking for great nightlife. Everyone is friendly and i did not witness any trouble what so ever, which i was previously warned about. The beaches are clean and have various water sport activities. There is a fare ground right next to bar street, which is great for a change. I would visit this resort again, going to book up for next year.
