Love Lindos, like many i've been returning for years now. Though it has all the facilities of a major resort it's still picture postcard greece.
There are 3 main areas that pull people to the village:
* The Acroplis, an ancient site with the most fantastic views. Best visited early in the morning before the killer heat of the sun and the throngs of daytrippers arrive.
* The beaches. Pallas beach and Main beach are both golden sandy beaches leading gently into the crystal clear sea. St Pauls is very picturesque though the beach is more rocky it's excellent for snorkelling.
* The village, Lindos! Whitewashed houses, winding cobbled streets and totally pedestrainised apart from the donkeys. Best avoided during the day as the narrow street are heaving with daytrippers, Lindos by night is excellent. Wander around the maze of cobbled streets and take in the array of shops, restaurants, bars and clubs - everyone has their favourites. For food i love Mavrikos in the main square, Ambrosia for great fish and a smart setting and Aphrodite for their veggie moussaka and the friendliest hostess in Lindos. There's an abundance of bars from chilled to 'clubbing', my favourites are Yiannis (the best for people watching), Luna, Antika, Manolis and of course Lindos By Night.
Whatever your tastes or budget you'll be hard pushed to find something you don't like about Lindos. That's why so many of us return, year after year!

Lindos is a defenate must to visit. Beautiful village, covered in small white buildings, all built on a hill, below the acropolis that is the main feature of lindos. Turquiose sea and white sandy beaches. The beach has many sunbeds on the beach (the long beach is a nono, the small beach is the best, as it has shops, and better sand)the small fish in the sea may appear frightening, but they will surely enough swim away from you (believe me theyre hard to catch!) And the resteraunts are all roof topped. I dream about going back their every night, and cant wait till next year! A very picturesque village. BRILLIANT!!!

Beautiful resort, stunning beach, glorious aqua water. Town small and nice.
We enjoyed shopping around for various bargains. Took a walk up to the Acropolis. Donkeys live in absolute poverty we really felt sorry for them and had many arguments with the owners.
Had a ride in the glass bottom boat and saw loads of beautiful sea creatures. Had a ride in peddle boat kids really enjoyed this.
Various restaurants really nice and AFFORDABLE.

Lindos itself caters for everyone but although bustling, is gentle and relaxing at the same time. Lots of bars, tavernas, and shops with plenty of bargains to be had. Cars are not allowed in the town itself so it really is a case of grab yourself a donkey to take you to the ruins of the fortress which is well worth a visit.
We visited at the back end of the season so I can't really say if this place is a lot busier in the height of summer but in my opinion it isn't the type of place that would attract the younger single person looking for nightclubs and rowdy bars.
Lindos is a great place to stroll around of an evening with lots of little avenues and streets full of craft shops selling lace and woodcraft.
We did go into Rhodes town once and found that some of the lace was a lot cheaper and you can barter much more in Rhodes. I think because it is so much bigger and much more competetive - they will do anything to make the sale.
A large beach can be found in Lindos and here you can find lots of water sports such as ringos (Great Fun), jetski and water skiing.
If you prefer a very lively night on the town take a taxi to Faliraki - this is around 45 minute drive and costs around £30 each way. We had 2 really good nights out here but again it was a bit quieter at the back end of the season.
I would definitely go back to Rhodes - been twice already and love it but much preferred Lindos to Rhodes town where I stayed on my first visit.

Lindos is a fantastic resort. The maze of little streets come alive at night. The bars are mainly in old Captains houses, hidden away during the day by big wooden doors. The Lindos by night bar is a definate must!
There is plenty of restaurants to choose from - From the typical Greek to Chinese, Italian and Indian. Most have a pretty courtyard downstairs and an open-air eating area upstairs overlooking the floodlight Acropolis which makes the feel very romantic. I haven't had a bad meal yet!
The village itself is vehicle free, which means the only way up to the oustanding Acropolis is by foot or by Donkey.
The Beach is clean and the water is clear and shallow making it perfect for children. Also the sunbed attendents have lilos which you can borrow as long as you return them back at the end of the day. There is a handfull of beach tavernas which all sell good food and ice cold drinks - you will probably find you will recognise the friendly waiters from the restaurants at night.
If there is one problem with Lindos it is the fact that it is becoming more and more popular. Anyone who loves Lindos will want to tell everyone what a wonderfull place it is but at the same time keep it a secret.

Lindos has lovely beaches, good bars and restaurants with friendly locals. The bus service is good and cheap 1-3 euros for a journey, but do not run after about 6.30pm. Visit Med East, a great restaurant and bar on the hillside as you go down into Lindos Town. The food is excellent and the music great. Everything costs about the same in Lindos as in UK with regards to eating and drinking etc (alcohol at supermarkets is cheaper though). Go to the beaches as they are clean, well stocked with sun loungers and have showers/toilets etc. Lots of cafes dotted along the beaches, good food. Plenty of supermarkets and shops. You can drink the tap water as it is natural spring water, we did and had no problems. Don't forget your sun tan cream the sun is very strong, and you will burn. The weather was hot and sunny (no clouds at all) really great just remember your hat!
Lindos was a delightful place to visit even though we were there in the last week of the season. The quality and price of the food and drinks was excellent throughout and the rooftop restaurants are a must for any visitor,
Lindos is a lovely village with everything to hand. The locals are friendly. The bars and restaurants great.
We have been several times this year and never tire of the place. It has a charm that nowhere else comes close.
The Island has so much to offer with a great diversity of places to visit.
The beaches in Lindos are clean and we always go the small beach which has lots of character and lovely places just a step away from the beach for lunch.
Some of the recommended bars are Antika - the staff are brilliant. Icon, Pals, Socrates Bar, Yiannis Bar, Dreams. The many restaurants can`t all be visited in 2 weeks.
Even though we`ve been 4 times this year we always seem to return to Kalypso, Maria`s, Odyseyia, Ambrosia, Alex`s, Steffanys and many more.

WE HAD A HOLIDAY WE WILL NEVER FORGET.. THE WHOLE PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. WHEN YOU GO DONT FORGET TO VISIT THE RED ROSE IN TOWN.THE STAFF AT THE HOTEL AND LOCALS CANNOT DO ENOUGH FOR YOU.WE ARRIVED ON 13/6/07 & SADLY DEPARTED ON 21/6/07. WE STAYED IN ROOM 2FO NEAR THE INFINITY POOL,WHICH IS QUITE A TRECK UP THE HILL,BUT MANAGED OK EVEN THOUGH ONE OF US IS NOT SO GOOD ON HER FEET.THIS WAS OUR FIRST TRIP TO RHODES,BUT WILL NOT BE OUR LAST BY FAR.
Myself and my future hubby stayed at the Yota in June 2007. We have a villa in Kalathos, but as we were getting married in Lindos we wanted a bit of peace and quite prior to our wedding. What we didn't want was some big noisy hotel and the Yota was perfect.
Its views are stunning and the rooms are immpecable (though there was a big insect in the bathroom that propted Hugh into a bit of 'Greek Dancing!)the ceiling fan kept the room nice and cool, so we didn't use the aircon. The rooms are of a good size, ours had two single beds and bunk beds in it,
The breakfast is very basic but ok, I never got to eat in the restaurant, but Hugh had a meal there and said it was lovely.
We got home late one night, and the hotel was locked up..luckily we found our way in by a back entrance, so just be aware of that.
We are going to Kalathos in August, and are going to eat in the restaurant one night, and we both would recommend the Yota for a quiet holiday..a bit of how Greece used to be..
If you want the night life Lindos is only minutes away where there are plenty of bars and restuarants to choose from.
