Pefkos is a lovely village and it can be as busy or as quiet as you want it to be. We found the resort, beach, restaurants and bars all to be very clean and welcoming. The main beach is excellent-gently sloping, safe, sandy and clear water.Although the main beach is quite small we never had any problems getting free sunbeds and these are quite spaced out from one another. There are other beaches nearby but we stuck with the main one. You are spoiled for choice for food and drink but some of our favourites for food were Enigma,Nostalgia,Nefeli and for drinks Pefkos by Night,Rock Garden,Peacock Bar. Also you have to visit the Pefkos bakery - it is located on a steep hill but this just gives you an excuse to sample the cakes --they are fab!!
And one excursion everyone should do is the trip up to Lindos from Pefkos on the Glass Bottom Boat - hilarious!
Would say that Pefkos is ideal for couples and families and we will be going back.

Pefkos is very much a resort orientated to the English visitor and we did sometimes feel that we were not so much in Greece as England abroad. The best restaurants we found were Stavrakis (The Little House) and George's Taverna where the traditional Greek dishes were excellent and the ambience more Greek rather than "International". However, we did not have a bad meal or a bad experience anywhere else. They all seemed of a good consistent standard and it just depends on your personal preference.
This is a cliff-top resort so if you have visions of dining al-fresco on the sand with the waves breaking on the shore then you will be disappointed. But do make a point of having a drink at one of the beachside bars and watch the sunset.
The beach here is narrow but clean with fine sand and no pebbles. We stayed at Pefki Islands Resort Hotel so our nearest access to the beach meant walking down 60 steps.
If you are planning on a beach holiday you might be better off hiring a car and visiting Glystra or Prassonisi.

Pefkos is lovely. Excellent restaurants, great service and food. The views are lovely. Easy to get a taxi to Lindos from outside The Rock Bar which costs 6Euros each way. Recommended restaurants: Enigma, Nostalgia & the italian. Very quiet, peaceful resort but still enough to do. Beach is small but very clean, sea nice and warm. Would definatley go back but if you want more to do then stay in Lindos where there is a wider choice of restarants (mostly rooftop with view of Acropolis) and more shops. We also had a family wedding while we were there at St.Pauls Bay chapel which was absolutely wonderful.

Pefkos was not a big noisy town, but plenty to do and see to keep you going for the 2 weeks and more, Egnigma was a very nice place to eat, there were so many to chose from we never had a bad meal. the beach was in tiny coves, you had a chose of about 4 not to crowded. There were plenty of bars with entertainment and shops, a good chinese and indian called shanghi which was very good. Lindo was the next town and well worth a visit, we went by boat, which you can get from the beach and got a taxi back cost 5 euros good value.

The beach was very clean but narrow. The water was very warm and was one of the highlights of our holiday.
I would recommend a trip to Lindos to see the acropolis. We hired a car for a few days, not through the rep though (very expensive) and went to Rhodes Old Town - absolutely brilliant. I would definately recommend a visit to The Palace of the Grand Masters - The Knights of St John. There is so much to see and you really need more than one day to do it! Great place for shopaholics like me!

If there were no hotels there would be no Pefkos - that’s the truth. It serves no purpose but to separate the tourist from their Euros. It puts London to shame for ripping people off.
Every single night we were able to contest the restaurant bill, it became a sport amongst us who could catch the scam out. E.g. Every place in one restaurant gets given a roll and butter - like in UK. However eat it at your peril that roll can cost up to 3 Euros thats £2.10. Each.
A beer at the bar maybe 3 Euros a pint, but at your table it can rise to 5 Euros £3.50. It is rip-off-opolis everybody seemed to be at it in some form or another.
The days of cheap holidays in Greece are long dead, the euro saw to that.
On a positive note there are some real gems to eat at Philosoph on the cliffs a stone throw from the Pefki island resort was excellent - Tom Conte and Shirley Valentine personified. The fish restaurant on the headland - can't type Greek and have no idea of English version, but it is quite a walk, but worthwhile.
Terpsis was very modern place on the main drag, but excellent food. But for a real treat climb the hill to the bakery, you can see it from the main street. The display of cakes is unbeatable and just sit outside (only 2 tables) with a coffee and a cake overlooking Pefkos Bay, it is a wonderful moment in an otherwise horrid place.
PS the climb to the bakery roughly burns off the calories the cake replaces so it worth it.

Pefkos seemed more of a 'couples' resport. We (or rather, I!) had a job finding bars which were not dominated by big screens showing football (much to my husbands chagrin!)
Food was excellent - not one bad meal. The Greek House almost opposite Matina Hotel is excellent value for money as is Spitaki Restaurant.
Easy to nip into Lindos of a night via taxi. In fact although initially wanted accommodation in Lindos much preferred Pefkos.

Pefkos is a delightful resort. It centres around a main street where there are numerous restaurants/tavernas, supermarkets, bars etc with some roads off leading down to the beach.
You could visit a different restaurant every night and not need to revisit any, there are so many. There are some super tavernas for tradition Greek food:
Philosophia above the beach, super food, the most expensive
Two Brothers along the main street, doesn't look much from the road, but the food is super and all freshly cooked. Ensure that the chap from Birmingham takes your order rather than one of the Greek Brothers. You may not get what you order. But definitely worth a visit.
Spitaki - opposite Two Brothers
Tsambikos - up the hill above the bakery
Nefeli - at the top of the road near the complex
George's Taverna - near the taxi rank
Car Hire - we went with Marathon - all cars seemed new.
You have to visit Lindos (Timis Cyprus Taverna very good). If you're heavy, don't ride a donkey
Prasonissi - awesome
Tsambikos Monastery and beach
Glystros Beach
and go on the Glass Bottom Boat from Lindo Main Beach pier
