All restaurants are fine some better than others, but that depends on your own taste, we have met people who don't like Indian food, sorry why go to India!!!

I like Candolim, lots of places to eat and the road is quieter than the other close towns.

We were right on the border of candolim and sinquirem quieter than its neighbour but still plenty of restaurants to choose from never far from a bus stop taxi or autorickshaw if you didnt want to walk ,we tried many restaurants the curry house had nightly entertainment also ruffles had karoke or a singer most nights as did most of the restaurants.there were some lovely walks from here to aguada fort, the lighthouse and a 20 minute walk took you to the trip boats where you could see the dolphins for 200 rupees .The beach was clean although some digging for more beach shacks going on and monicas beach shack really looked after us great food and service.

I found the resort is dirtier then when i was there in march this year 2010 didnt look like it had been cleaned up since the monsoon.Bars/restaurants was mostly empty..Didnt find the taxi prices much different in price if you haggled hard with the drivers..Buses still the same price 5rps candolin to calangute 10rps to mapusa from candolim..Some restaurants were charging 260rps for breakfast british prices £3.70 Tuborg lager ranged from 45rps to 60rps..River princess has ahuge hole in the side now dont think it will last much longer before it breaks up,its a eyesore from the beach..Lots of shacks were charging for the sunbeds..

The resort was much more littered than previously, this may be because it was only a week before the end of the season. The entertainment wasn't as good because of this and even the beach was very untidy. Having said all of this I would go back, but not a little earlier.

Candolim/Goa is a very quite part,Some very nice places to eat in the town,Also some very nice shacks on the beach that also serve some very good food,There is always lots to do on the beach exp-Water Sports,Jet Skies etc ,Always a nice place to spend the day with a ice cold kingfisher,And the sun sets in candolim/goa are one to be seen,I love going on holiday to goa/candolim & have been going now for last five years & have booked to go next april 2011 i recommend candolim/goa if you like it not to busy & a bit on the quite side,I always have a fab time on holday here.

The resort is quieter than up north which I much prefer, Baga and Anjuna is very hectic and would suit the younger traveller/backpacker. There are many Restaurants to choose from and if you are a fish lover try the Stone House. The resort offers food for every taste with great atmosphere. The sadest part is the beach, which due to the tanker which has been beached in candolim since 2000 has caused the south end of the beach where the Santa Rita, Taj Holiday Village and Fort Aguada to eroded away where enormous black sandbags have been placed on the beach to stop more sand errosion, so in my opinion not a safe place to swim so you have to travel further north for a swimable safe beach.
