Only problem this time was the lack of Beach Shacks, hopefully this will improve.

Candolim was nice and we are going again this year but this time we will try to pick a hotel that is inhabitable.
The beach is very good and the shacks provide a excellent service.
Many good restaurants in the area and a wide variety of cuisine is available including European food to a very high standard.

The resort is kept cleaned .There was no entertainment at the hotel.we went to the shacks on the night time. spottys was the best.Food was good and the staff really friendly.Inferno and the sports bar on the beach road are very good.we went on some trips one to the waterfalls which were very nice and we feed the monkeys there, elephants were fun you can have a shower with them and a ride. They were near the waterfalls.so we did them first then went to the waterfalls after. On our way back we went to the spice plantation which was very interesting.we loved goa and cant wait to go back.

The people of Goa made our holiday very special we witnessed friendliness, politeness and excellent service throughout our stay (with one exception to be discussed later.)We stayed in Candolim and had an all inclusive tarrif. We would not stay all inclusive again as the food & drinks are so cheap and of such good quality and value for money.
We were struck initially by the untidiness of the main roadway and the rubbish thats dumped around,we also were struck by the poverty that affects lots of the locals, however the friendliness of everyone we met out there, their interest in the tourist and the relaxed manner in which the Goan people go about there buisness soon helped us to relax and really enjoy all that this part of India has to offer.
We travelled down to the beach which was approx 10 minutes from our hotel. We passed cattle sauntering along and a vast array of shops bars restaurants. The Spice Garden was our favourite, they do wonderful steaks and is run by a lovely family.
When we reached the beach we were struck with the sight of a big rusty wreck of a ship that has apparently been there for 9 years, it does spoil that part of the resort. The beach was clean and the Arabian sea was green and choppy. We visited a couple of beach shacks and were pleased with the cheapness and quality of food and beverages that were served.
Unfortunatly We were pestered within 10 mins of us settling down on a sunbed. The Beach sellers were very annoying and if you show the slightest bit of interest in any of their wares you were quickly surrounded by others, they were very persistant. I found it annoying and intrusive and actually told one of the sellers this. We was so annoyed that we didnt go back to that beach.
We met a very friendly Taxi driver called Ricki who took us to two secluded beaches further north than Candolim.
For 800 rupees Ricki would take you to where ever you wanted to go at any time and wait for you. It was a very good service but such a pity that you had to travel so far to avoid the sellers!!! Ricki recommended Asvem beach and Dream Beach. Both these beaches were very quiet and this is were we truely 'chilled'relaxed and soaked up the Indian sunshine.
Again the service, food & beverages at the beach shacks at these two beaches were very good value and indeed very tasty. Probably because the beaches were secluded the staff at the shacks were very friendly and attentive. We would not go all inclusive again in Candolim.
If you look beyond the untidiness and some of the poverty that is all around, the resort touches all of your senses and we had a most wonderful time. My husband bought me some beautiful jewelery at the most surprising of prices. We would recommend purchasing any Jewels out there as they are spectacular and really makes you realise how very very expensive similar items are back home.
We will return To Goa.

We have now stayed in Candolim for 10 years and it has never been clean, but far far better than neighbouring Calangute.
If you do not read up on India prior to your visit, do not visit ! Things have to change here to bring more tourists in, filth is one of them, but I can't see that changing..
As for entertainment, it's always been a sit back and have drink atmosphere, so hot you don't want to do much else.
Some bars do have local singers or musicians and krapeeokee is catching on if you go looking for it.

Candolim has many places to eat and drink at night and on the beach. If you are looking for more nightlife Baga is just 10 mins by taxi and has more bars, restaurants and nightclubs. There are also plently of markets where you get get some absolute bargains! Candolim's beach is endless and has loads of great 'shacks' offering almost any kind of food and drink!! The best part of my holiday is that the locals are so friendly and welcoming, we were two young girls out there alone and felt entirely safe.

As we stayed at a guest house and not a holiday resort, there's not much I can say.
Candolim has great restaurants, great nightlife if you like that sort of thing, and it's easy to get around.
I've been there numerous times and am going again this year
