My cleanliness score accepts that we are in Indian and therefore it is the norm to see plastic bottles at the side of the road and the red dust will get everywhere. Cows walk along the street and the beach
I recommend Sweet Chilli on a Wednesday evening, you will need to book a table, however a real party night and lots of fun and dancing. Also recommend the Panjim Sunset cruise, again good fun only 150 rps and if you get the 5.45pm or 6.00pm cruise the sunset is spectacular. Lasts about 90 mins and and drinks onboard are very reasonably priced
Finally if you want to see a comedian Fred is on at Ruffles every Wednesday and Friday, and good English fair served there if you get fed up of Indian, Chinese etc. Also the full English breakfast is food at Ruffles
However if you simply want a drink and meal there are plenty of places without entertainment. Candolim has something for everyone and there is room in the reosrt for those that like a bit of entertainment and those that simply like a meal and drink.
Taxis in the resort are a pain, and too expensive and the sheer number of them makes you wonder how they make a living!!!

The Resort was a mix of good and bad, but the fancination of the place outwayed anything. There are other resorts close by to visit that is Calungute and Baga, the former is very busy but has the most amazing shops, the beach is okay and very busy with some really good restaurants on the beach, Baga is a lot more organised and better looking the beach is quite busy but nicer some how probably better kept.
Candolim's beach was very similar to the others there are quite a few side roads leading to the beach which we only really discovered to the latter end of the holiday, these have variety of restaurants and shops on.
We travelled further up North to Moajim Beach, this beach was beautiful with beach huts, restaurants and palm leaf type shops, a lovely breeze and exciting sea.
There are plenty of places to visit we went to the Spice Plantation which was very interesting and it was here I had my first elephant ride, next time we want to go on the jungle trip and the Monkey Island trip among others.
There is a very sharp contrast between ours and their culture and it takes about 2 days to acclimatise to it but then you will discover that the contrast is wonderful, seeing elephants on the street along with the cows, oxen and the wildlife in abundance in the countryside

we loved this resort, great choice of eating venues fantastic choice of beach shacks no where near the hassel of calangute with beach traders, lovely friendly people, tara's massage/beauty treatments is a must! i would definatly go back there as we had such a good time. there is also a large fantastic supermarket selling all your shampoo/conditioner and anything else you could need. great choice of live music, good base for the holiday if you want clubs and late nights you can get a taxi for next to nothing. loved it!

we have been to goa 8 times and and find candolim to be the best area for our taste.plenty of good quality eating establishments serving great food at very good prices.great beach and beach shacks serving good snacks.good shopping and in easy reach of the capital panjim and mapusa if you want to look for something special.there is plenty of evening entertainment from singers to groups and karaoke or just bars playing background music if you prefer.the main resort areas are very untidy and dirty and the only fault i can find in what is my favourite holiday destination

The location was good, directly on the main road which could be a bit scary. Fast moving traffic, especially the motorbikes, which would honk their horns also for no reason. Cows are free to walk about where they want here, even on the beaches but were no trouble. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away and was lovely. Beach shaks were plentlifull and very cheap.

Loved Goa, once we had got over the culture shock, the heat, noise of taxi/scooter horns, no pavements and the cows lying in the street and beach! Lots of lovely cheap beach shacks, favourite is St Anthonys on Baga beach, favourite restaurants After 7 and its sister breakfast/lunch place Posh which only opened in November 07, try the Posh special. Also another new restaurant Souymans Kitchen. Chef Souyman is the ex chef at After 7.
Beaches are imaculate despite dogs and cows, no mess. Neither bothered you.
Would definatley go again

Fantastic - not one bad restaurant. Particularly good was the Octopus Garden restuarant which we visited twice. Beach was lovely, best shack was Cam Rose with lovely staff and fabulous food.

Well this hotel is certainly located close to the beach and away from the crowd madness at Baga and calangute although there is still a lot happening around this hotel....So if it is action and only action you want you rather go to Baga beach side.
The hotel is very basic with nothing fancy as such but it met my needs since i basically required a room to crash in for few hours cause half the time of the day we were out sight seeing and partying.
Calamari beach shack is worth visiting whle staying at the hotel.
The hotel is located very close to the beach and close to SHIRO night club and the Kingfisher Villa. Fort Auguada is about a 10 mins drive down.
Places worth visting are Dhunsagar waterfall, Souzo Lobo Rest, Fiesta's rest, Martin's Corner, Britto's, Old Goa, Titto's and ofcourse the water sports on the beach. Colva beach in south goa is also nice. Driving down to south goa is really worth it since the beaches out there are much more clean.
Hiring a bike or car is very usefull since the taxi's are quite expensive during the december season. You can get a bike for 500 and car for 1500 a day. The people in the hotel are very helpful and can help you out with this.
Did not try the hotel food so cannot comment on that. The hotel has got a small swimming pool.
