Beaches

Very dusty and therefore seemed dirty. Pavements are lethal, pit-holes and polished so very slippery. Not wide selection of bars, and after two weeks was very bored! Harbour itself very pretty but definitely not a young persons place.

The resort looked like the aftermath of the Iraq war and so did the rest of Malta - but once you accept that's what Malta is, its ok - home very green.
Not as pretty as other holiday resorts like spain or greece due to a lack of beaches and the view of half built buildings. Avoid Pretty Beach as its not pretty, its a container base.
Go to Mellieha Beach by bus - much better. Trips really expensive with reps - totally rip off - don't encourage them by going with them!!!!!!!!

In Buggiba & St Paul’s bay; you’ll find a good choice of restaurants to suit all pockets. We stayed for 1 week and didn’t eat at the same place twice. Remember that you’re staying amongst people who live & work permanently in this resort and you’ll realise why there are bags of rubbish on the street (we all get refuse collections you know!). Also remember that everyone the world over likes to improve their home (hence why there was a building rubble in some parts of the resort). I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay at this hotel if they expect to be wined, dined & entertained to a 4 star standard – remember, you’re not paying 4 star prices. There is a whole island out there – use this hotel as a base (& def use the buses they’re really cheap) and enjoy Malta. The people are fantastic, the architecture in Valletta is great (open your eyes & look up) and the weather is second to none. Also, try to fly Air Malta – you might not get in flight entertainment but at least there is more leg room.

I found the area were we stayed not particularly clean and a bit off putting when you went for a walk around. The view of St Pauls Bay is lovely and lovely to sit and take in. Having visited Malta I dont feel a need to rush back, but maybe in a few years. And wihout a doubt would take many cans of repellent with me as some of us got bitten really badly.

bugibba can be a little untidy but thats all part of malta's charm,in general the resort is quite well kept, lots of entertainment for adults and children along the sea front, fairground rides, open air dancing, lots of bars, most serving excellent meals until late into the evening, very child friendly resort this, the beach is just rocky at the moment but i understand a man made sandy beach may be up and running by the summer of 2006,malta's lovely sandy beaches are only a bus ride away, would i visit this resort again,? i'll be there in june 06.

There is no beach within walking distance although if you like to swim in the sea there are plenty of places to swim from the rocks.

Bugibba, lively for 16-30s but ok for anyone else too I suppose. Beaches are rock. Ok prices, similar to the uk.

Buggibba is a lovely small resort quite different to the big Spanish / Balearic resorts. It is very relaxed and family orientated with a distinct lack of rowdiness and general drunken behaviour. Everyone seems happy to interract and pass the time of day.
The Maltese people are some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of visiting. They are friendly and considerate and make the holiday.
I particularly enjoyed the evenings at the Bocci Klubb where we watched and met the local players and characters.
Although there is no beach the waters were crystal clear and swimming off the rock beaches was superb.
Food and drink in the resort was good value for money at just below UK prices.
A very easy place to enjoy to which I will definitely return.

The resort was scruffy and what i mean about that is that there is litter every where you look. All the buildings are made out of concrete!!!
The Melliha Beach about 5 km away on the bus was Ok, but there was loads of wasps.
The entertainment was english pubs and A maltese singer in one bar. There is also Dodgems. St pauls bay is like a maltese blackpool.
For all you ice cream lovers there is a lot of ice cream parlours.
I would highly recommend going to Gozo on a guided trip. There are alot of stray cats there. The maltese are a little friendly not has friendly has Greece or Spain.
I would not recommend the hotel or the resort if you do not want to be in a copy of Blackpool
