After a transfer that should have been no more than an hour and a half, but took best part of two and a half hours, I was extremely tired after an early hours flight.

However, upon arrival, I was already impressed. With the lake one side of the road, and the hotel the other, it looked quite impressive for a 3* hotel.

This was immediately backed up by the "service with a smile" from the hotel staff. From check in to check out, I could not honestly say one negative thing about the staff.

Entertainment for my son was spot on, although he's maybe a little young to take part as he's not quite 2 yet!

The food was a little repetitive but you couldn't really fault it. Good choice for most tastes. The Island bar was great, help yourself to food and drink and away you go. My only gripe would be the 30 minute walk to the beach, but when you get there, it's well worth it. And there's not much that the hotel can do about that !!

All in all, we had a 5* holiday from a 3* complex, and this being our first taste of all inclusive, has ensured that I would do it again.

If you are a family with young children, go! The entertainment staff were spot on, the kids will love it.

The place is absolutely gleaming from top to bottom. The food was fantastic and even with a fussy 2yr old we always found something to eat. The pool did get crowded yes but the island is superb, always sunbeds and the snack bar was most welcome.

The staff were always friendly and helpful and the entertainers did an amazing job, probably working 16/18 hour days. Just five minutes walk from 100's of bars and restaurants although Lagomonte was that good I only left the hotel to buy cigarettes!!

If you did want to leave, the beach bus driver could show british transport companies a thing about punctuality and politeness.

The transfer was a bit longer than the brochures reckoned but hey this is a hotel review!!! how can you put roadworks in a hotel review???

We found the hotel to be very clean if you exclude the ants, which we kept finding in our room.

The food was very repetitive, but we usually found something we liked, even if it was just a burger from the hotel island snack bar.

The hotel was set back away from the main resort. This was good at night because the resort could get very busy. It took us three days to find the shortest route to the beach, as there are several ways to go, but once we did it was only a 10-15 minute walk.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, most of the time. other times they would talk between themselves, while we were waiting to be served.

For kids the entertainment was fantastic. The hotel run their own programs during the day and have live shows and entertainment at night. We were on honeymoon without our three children and for adults the entertainment was boring. Because of this we didn't spend much time in the hotel.

If we decided to take the children to majorca, we would definately visit this hotel again, but I don't recommend it for singles or couples.

The Lagamonte hotel is a smallish freestanding hotel which is situated by a large man made lake. In the middle of the lake is a small island, accessed via a bridge, which is part of the hotel. On this island there is is a pool and snack bar.

On arrival we found the hotel to be both inviting and clean, reports read on this website that the lake smells are incorrect. The lake water is not only visibly clear and clean but also teeming with very lively fish, so much so that if you or your kids like fishing, I would certainly recommend bringing your rods and some tackle.

Our room was very clean and situated overlooking the pool and lake. The beds were a bit scrappily put together (4 beds of various sizes pushed together) but no-one complained of being uncomfortable, and the room was cleaned thoroughly every day.

As mentioned by most on this site I can confirm that there is a veritable army of cleaners in this Hotel, constantly cleaning and polishing. Every morning there is a man pressure washing the tiled and paved areas by the pool and hotel grounds. Very impressive.

The main pool is very small but proportionate for the size of the hotel. Some reviews have mentioned the lack of a lifeguard but to be honest there are so many people either in or around the pool that any incidents would immediately be noticed.

The pool area is quite intimate and you really don't have to queue from 7.00 to get a sunbed (unless you want prime position next to the pool in which case you will spend the whole day being splashed!)

Can't comment on the Island pool as We never went there but it seemed quite pleasant.

I was disappointed with the food generally but there was always something that we could eat. I have witnessed the famous steak and kidney pie that is made out of diced ham!! It does exist!! All meals were accompanied with chips etc, drinks were ok but beer did taste weak. Spirits are dished out in huge measures so be warned!!

Staff were generally very helpful and friendly. A feature (at least while we were there) was the ammount of British staff working there on college courses.

A couple of things did stand out, firstly my Daughter lost a 10 euro note in the change machine and was given pretty short thrift by the receptionist when told about it, and during a day when the heavens opened we were unable to activate our tv.

The receptionist, and several "technicians" attended the schene but no joy.

Entertainment was pretty poor but "it's for the kids innit" The entertainers were, to be fair, very enthusiastic, but.

Overall it is a ok hotel.
I would, however like to mention one thing. It has been noted in quite a few reviews that some kids have been the victim of bullies at this Hotel.

Well unfortunately I can confirm that this does seem to be a problem here. My son, and others, were constantly harrassed by gangs of unsupervised kids who seem to wander the hotel intent on mayhem.

On one occasion I witnessed, and had to break up, up to 6 youngsters basically beating up a young lad in the hotel corridor.

The Hotel did seem to be trying to tackle the problem, with security guards becoming involved on more than one occasion.

I cannot give any explanation for this problem other than these kids being in group bookings with parents that basically never leave the hotel and are drinking all day.

The Hotel was kept extremely clean at all times, food was good, location not too bad.

Walk to beach was quite a nice bit of exercise after lazing around the pool most of the time. The cleaning staff was very friendly but reception staff could have been a bit more attentive and not chatting amongst themselves when people were waiting to be dealt with.

Entertainment not bad but some shows were repeated from the first week.

I would visit this hotel again as I certainly got value for money

We have to agree with what other people have said regarding the cleanliness of this hotel, there are staff constantly cleaning both hotel rooms and pool/entertainment area of the hotel. If drinks got spilt there was a member of staff cleaning it almost immediately.

We have been all inclusive a number of times before and have food more or less the same at all hotels however, this hotel has really good choice of food for all inclusive and of a very high standard. There was a fruit section that was open for all meal sittings and the fruit was not only exotic with dragon fruit and Phylis's as well as mango's as big as small footballs, but it was absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!

The hotel was situated on side of the lake in Alcudia and in itself was lovely and quiet with the resort centre only a 5 min walk away and the beach about 15 min walk away.

This was great for shopping trips and strolls down to the beach however this could be quite a long trip if like us you have the boats, lilo's, arm bands etc etc... The courtesy bus the hotel provide is great we were just unfortunate that the times we need to go to the beach the driver was on his lunch break I think that was between 1 and 3pm.

The hotel staff were on the whole great. Reception staff we very friendly and helpful with brilliant English. Entertainment staff were also great as were the bar and restaurant staff. The only member of staff, and if we are honest amused us, was the lifeguard, I really wouldn't rely on him to watch children in the pool.

Entertainment during the day was great there was always something to do for both adults or children however, the entertainment during the evening was not what I could call professional. Most nights it involved entertainment staff miming to songs however, there are some really good nights like the Elvis night and the Kylie night.

We have children of 5, 6 and 9 and all three experienced bullying at some point of this holiday. The hotel cannot be blamed for this at all as they have no control over who books here but in all the hotels I have stayed in I have not stayed anywhere with such unruly children.

Overall a great hotel this hotel cannot really be faulted however the holiday makers leave a lot to be desired.

We have been to this hotel 3 times not and its still has good as the first time and instead of writing a in depth report on this the lady who wrote report before me Jackie i agree with everything in that report. Next year there are making the swimming pool largerer and putting the stage were the outside bar is.

Its the first time we have been in July we normally go in Sept and never seen bulling by kids but this time there was, but i wouldnt be put off by this has the parents are to blame and should keep a eye on they children instead of letting them run wild

But this is a really good hotel staff are friendly food and drink and entertainment are brill

Kids club is run by hotel itself and entertaint the kids all day untill midnight which is really good.

This hotel has had bad reviews in the past, please don't believe them as this hotel has obviously changed or people have nothing better to do than complain.

The cleanliness was second to none, staff more than helpful, location perfect, not too far into the commercial area not too far from the beach as the minibus was lovely on time, clean and air conditioned.

The Food was great couldn't fault the choise, quantity and speed of the staff continually making sure there was plenty top ups. I defy anyone not to go and find something they liked every night, the only thing I could fault the restaurant (and it is the only thing) was the serving of chips at breakfast for kids but then that's down to parents too I suppose. Yes you get those who are greedy and stack their plates and end up wasting food but you'll always get that element in all inclusive.

The drinks were plentiful with no waiting and were certainly NOT watered down as the bar staff mix the cocktails in front of you!

Entertainment is what you'd expect from a hotel of this size and they did work very hard to please but a holiday is what you make it isn't it?

My family and I all had a great two weeks at this hotel. Couldn't have had a cleaner hotel always saw staff cleaning.

Food was great always a good choice every day kids loved the cheese and biscuits and puddings. Didn't have to have chips every day. Beach was quite a walk with a five year old but you had the beach bus every half an hour. If it was busy the driver would come every ten minutes.

Entertainment was good kids enjoyed the kids club. Chris and Neely worked very hard to keep every one happy.

All in all had a great time, we didn't want to come home.
