We had room 625 on the top floor overlooking the pool. It was perfectly adequate and not much road noise. A bit small but ok for 2 people as you don't spent much time in it apart from sleeping. Lovely modern walk in shower.

Resort lovely although closed whilst we were there

The resort had a plentiful supply of shops of all catagories along the main duel carriageway which made easy shopping.
There is a small complex not far from the hotel which catered for most needs. We tended to spend a lot of time visiting a relative on the island at St. Margalida so didn't get much of the local entertainment.
The beach was clean and the water looked good although I never entered it.
The only critisism I had of the resort is that on the walk out from the hotel, and indeed in many other places around the resort were signs of neglect in that there was a lot of rubbish lying around, some had been there for the whole four holidays we spent on the island, which could have been improved.
Getting away from the tourist area's and walking around the private area's showed us the other enchanting side of Alcudia.
We must say that in our travels in our hire car generally we found Majorca brilliant.

The resort was spotless, the entertainment was fantastic, and the beach was white with blue sea.

The location is next to a grotesque strip of horrible bars and restaurants - steak 'n' chips aplenty.
If you want a mini-Blackpool this is for you. If you want to actually disembark the plane feeling like you are in a different country you will be extremely disappointed.

the town of alcudia seemed to be very commercialised the reason i went on holiday was to get away from england but when i arrived i was shocked to find it like an ordinary english seaside town in the sun.
i would advise it to people who like this sort of holiday as it could be fun for other people but as i say it it the reason why i came on holiday was to get away from england for a week.

Alcudia is beautiful and after three nights of hell we decided to cut our losses and go out.
The beach is great. White sand extremely clean and great for the children.
The old town ,harbour etc are truely lovely.
The restuarants are clean and the food was fantastic. We would defo go again to Alcudia but give the hotel Jupiter a Very Wide Berth!!!

We stayed in Alcudia and the Marte is about 10 mins walked to Alcudia beach which is absolutely fantastic, a truly wonderful beach especially for small children. The sea is warm and shallow. The fish would come up to you and feed off bread out of your hands. We visited shops around the port area of alcudia and plenty of entertaining things for the children, great variety of shops.
Did go to the market but found it far too busy this mainly sold leather goods, jewellrey and lace.

Resort is good and quite clean! - lots of restaurants! - but no noisy nightlif like Magaluf! - lots of toursity shops!
Direct Holidays excursions are expensive. Suggest you do what we did and go for the 'No Frills' excursions. This is a british company doing all the standard operators excursions but a lot cheaper!! - pick up a leaflet in a bar somewhere or try and find their office - just off the main road towards the port end!!
Bikes are worth hiring as it makes it easier to get around the resort.

The resort of Alcudia is spread along several miles of coast from the port at one end to some large Hotels and residential areas at the other. In the middle is the main resort area with has loads of restaurants, cafes and shops catering to a dominantly British crowd, although there are many Germans and Scandavians as well. The beach is superb with fine white sand and shallow water for 50 to 100 m out and this is the main attraction here. Good for families. The resort though is a little like Clacton in the sun. There were a couple of very good convenience shops close to our accomodation that were useful since we were dong self catering. There were also dozens of places selling beach gear and cheap alcohol and tobacco. Having come this far, we were not interested in wasting our time watching Sky football in some imitation British pub, but in this part of the town there was precious little Spanish culture or entertainment. A better bet was to go to the old town part of Alcudia, which was easily reached by bus. The port area was pleasant with shops and restaurants.
