Can Picafort is a typical Spanish seaside resort. Lots of tacky (but appealing) souvenir shops and an abundance of small supermarkets.

The promenade and harbour area have recently had a lot of money spent on them, and while we were there, little grass/straw umbrellas were being erected on the beach.

It was a bit too chilly (and windy - just like being in Scotland!) to swim in the sea, but we went for a paddle and dodged the (big) waves. The beach seemed to be quite a bit cooler than other parts of the resort for some reason. Was much more pleasant sunbathing at the hotel. The beach, however was very clean.

We only stayed for a week and would probably have visited some of the surrounding resorts if we had stayed longer, as many of the shops were very similar/repetitive in Can Picafort.

There were a few German people in the resort, but we found that there were equal numbers of restaurants/bars geared towards both the British/German holidaymaker. And don't miss the huge slabs of strawberry cake sold on the beachfront cafes..........yum.

The resort is really geared up towards english tourists, but the food in the local restaurants gets very boring unless you like chicken and chips every night.

Locals are friendly enough and children are welcome everywhere. After about 10 o clock everything seems to die down.

We took the short 15 minute or so walk to the beach about 4 or 5 times. The sandy beach itself was fine, not spotless but certainly not dirty (although the water right next to the marina was a funny colour).

We didn't explore much, walked through the shopping area a couple of times, typical shops you would expect with a couple of supermarkets scattered around. One problem was that there seemed to be quite a bit of dogs muck around.

Nice family resort and very clean.

Good beach and nice restaurants and bars on beach front.

Plenty of bars cater for the children.

So we will return again.

C'an Picafort seemed very pleasant, there were a lot of places to eat and drink only a short walk from the holiday village. We ate at a couple of less pleasant places at the start but found a fab place called Monaco which we then ate at every night. Beaches weren't great but we tended to stay at the pool anyway. If you want watersports, Aqua parks, sealife centres etc then this really isn't the place for you unless you are ok with being on a coach for 2 hours plus in rush hour traffic.

I liked this resort as it was quite small but not too small. Lots of bars and restuarants but I did find that most of them served the same food. Was disappointed to not be able to find any food remotely spanish. The walk down to beach was nice and pedestrianised and the beach walk to the harbour was lovely. Some nice bars - Birdies had XBOX which my son thought was great.
Beach did not go far out but was sufficient, clean and tidy.
My only critisism was on the walk down to the beach from hotel there did seem to be a lot of dog mess. It seems that they do not seem to poop and scoop!

The promanade was kept beautifully clean. Plenty of entertainment for all ages. Friendly atmosphere. Easy access to other resorts within area, Alcudia, Puerto Pollensa etc.

Beach clean and live guards on duty. Seemed to be more seeweed to the front edge of the sea but c'est la vie.

We recommend this resort to all ages especially couples and young families.

The resort is a very quiet one, there was a total of 6 shops close to the hotel, if you wanted a better selection you would walk into Can Picafort which is about 15 minutes walk along the beach front.

While we were there we could not go into the sea as there was black oil type residue the length of the shore, they tried to clean it up from 6.30am every morning and only finished the day that we left. We took the bus into Alcudia which is very accessable just 20 yards from the front of the hotel and it runs every 15 minutes. Shoppers heaven there.

Can Picafort is just ok for me. The beach is very narrow and long. All the usual gift shops and bars.

Friday morning market was good.

The only place we eat at on the sea front was Trotters Bar and the food was great and very english, I would recommend this place.

The resort itself was fairly clean, but did encounter quite a lot of dog dirt on the way down to the main street!

The restaurants are plentiful, a nice bar called Wotsits made my kids the happiest they had been on holiday! Chicken nuggets! theres even a burger king!

The beach was clean, with a life guard on duty. Although the day we visited it was very windy! I would go again!!
