Location
The rooms were cleaned daily and the maids were friendly. The food was fantastic, just wait 10 minutes after the hall opens to avoid the queues.
The location was good as it was nice to be set back from the busy main road. We never experinaced any problems with mosquitos, I think we received 2 bites between the 10 of us.
First Choice staff were excellent, thanks to Nathan for finding my camera. The waitress, reception and bar staff were nice and entertainment staff Fabian & Sarah were great. (soft spot for Sarah). As for Jose, he's the man.
Kids didn't use the clubs but I did some of the adult stuff like, football, archery & shooting. The tennis courts are also excellent.
Evening entertainment was alright, but pick your nights carefully. We enjoyed the hypnotist and the Kenyan Boys.
Excursions we did nearby that I would recommend are; Island Tour with No Frills, Quad Biking with Boyz Toyz, Hidropark and Go Karting. If you like walking or running check out the nearby S'Albufera nature reserve and climb Puig de San Marti and the caves, which we did.
I would go back but there are so many places we haven't been.
Good nights out can be had at Cheers and The Swan.

What lovely spacious rooms,we had a large bathroom, balcony, which looked over the lake and mountains. The kids den was brill a separate room with in the main bedroom, this hads bunks beanbags and tv, some have play stations in, ours didnt and to be honest I dont think you will need it.
Our area was large spacious and always very clean, maids every day except sunday. There is plenty of storage in the room plus a tv.
It would of been nice to have tea or coffee facilities in the room and also you only have 1 pillow each. The other room we had was a double room which would of slept 3 easily. Again spotless room slightly smaller balcony but big enough.
The food in the restaurant was fantastic,a real choice for every one, children under 12 arenot allowed up to the food counters with out an adult.
The drinks in the restaurant do have to be paid for in the evening, these can be a bit pricey, try estrelle beer very much like our san miguel but cheaper. As previous reviews have said it is very busy at the start of breakfast and dinner times, so best wait half hour for the queues to die down.
There is entertainment every night some nights were abit dodgy, kids mini disco was good and the bingo is a definite try, cash prices. During the day there is adult games waterpolo, volley ball archery killer pool and cocktail games.
The kids have their clubs. 12mths- 36mths 3-8yrs and 9-15yrs. There were 6 pools 3 on the main complex the other 3 across the road at the back of the hotel, this is called breezers,we found this much quieter.
There was never a problem with sun beds. The only slight problem was first thing in the morning, the gases from the lake would give of a nasty whiff, but would only last a short while.
Overall we would come here again as its a fab family hotel.

The hotel is fab, more a 4 star, the rooms are cleaned every day expect on a sunday when they just empty the bins.
Food is lovely plenty of choice eg breakfast cereals, sauage eggs beans toast bacon yogurts cakes fruit. Evening meal too many to list only downside to evening meal no free drink a bottle of water 1.60 euro. Also evening meal starts at 6.30 if you go then you will be in a queue to get in wait 10 mins no queue.loads of stuff going on for kids also for adults.
Also in the hotel is a gym, hairdressers internet access, chess tables laundry room which is free but you need to book at reception. there is bikes you can hire outside there is a big lake outside which you can hire a pedal boat for3 euros for an hour.
A ten minute stroll up the road is a cheers bar you can see it from hotel happy hour 7-8 drinks are buy 1 get1 free. The shops are a further 5 minutes up the road from there, the beach is also by the shops but the hotel does put on a free bus runs every half an hour.
I would return to this hotel without a doubt. Enterainment in the evening is a bit of a let down.

We went self catering and were given a 6th floor apartment. At first, I thought this would be a nightmare due to the small lifts, but we never had a problem getting to or from our room, even during busy periods. Noise was pretty good, although we were facing the opposite side from the stage, and I imagine that would be quite annoying if you have a small child and go to bed earlier than most!
There did seem to be a dustbin collection at midnight each day which seemed quite loud considering it was 6 floors down, but I can't really complain overall.
We went self catering, but the ate in the restaurant most nights (9 euros per adult). The food was buffet style and quite varied, but as some other reviewers have commented, not particularly hot. In this intance quantity made up for quality :)
There didn't seem to be that many other restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. However, the 2 we did visit were very nice and resonably priced (approx. 20 euros for two filling adult meals, 1 kids meal and a couple of drinks).
Staff in the hotel were very friendly and paid special attention to our little one which made her holiday even more special. Didn't use the kid's club, but the rep (Sunshine Sarah) still made an effort when she saw her at the mini-disco.
In summary, I would recommend this hotel.
It is friendly, clean, near the beach, and has plenty of things to do for (probably) all ages.

Our room was a good size with a separate room for the children, my sister paid extra for a Den and the room was so dark you could not see the difference apart from hers had bunk beds and two bean bags ours had two single small beds. The Den was also advertised as having a PS2 but they had to pay 50 Euro deposit if this was wanted, there was no mention of this on booking, and for a fridge they wanted 75 Euros a week of which you would get 20 back. The beds and towels were changed regularly but the bathroom was not kept clean and the balcony was never brushed
I found the location of the hotel to be spot on, it was a ten minute slow walk to the shops, beach and restaurant, and as said by many others a visit to Cheers is a must.

Kids clubs (we had kids in both under 9's and over 9's)we are informed were 'the business' and on at least 4 hours a day and sometimes 6-8 hours incl a 9-11 shift in the evenings. There is both entertaining by First Choice and also the Hotel so you could be in some sort of club (incl adults) all day if you wanted.
Food was good and plenty of choice though I must say it was not always on the hot side.
Mosquitoes were a real problem, take plenty of spray !! but all in all this was only a small problem compared to an overall first class holiday. Will certainly go there again.

We arrived at the hotel at 1130, which is before the checkout time of 1200, but were in our room (kids den) by 1205. VERY impressed by the size of the accomodation - would easily have fitted the whole family into the main bedroom (double bed, double sofa bed, TV and safe), but the kids den had bunk beds, 2nd TV, PS2, two chairs and still space. Huge balcony overlooking the lake too - great for sitting out at night. A fridge in the room would have been nice, but no problem.
The food in the hotel was excellent - a wide range of food on the main buffet, carvery each night and a separate kids selection. 5 or 6 main courses and 8 to 10 desserts (ice cream, selection of cakes, range of puddings, cheese board, etc). Drinks available at a reasonable price on entry to the buffet. No tea or coffee available at dinner would be my only negative comment. Food at breakfast was also very good, with 4 or 5 cereal choices, cooked breakfast, eggs, fish, cheese/pate, toast and tea/coffee/fruit juice. Could get quite busy but the staff were very efficient at tidying away and resetting tables.
The hotel was set about a 15/20 minute stroll from the beach along a quiet road - completely flat and a really nice walk, so we never used the shuttle bus that seemed to run constantly. There was also a reasonably priced supermarket in the hotel for drinks/snacks and a couple of snack bars.
Our two kids used the First Choice clubs constantly - about 5 hours of activities each day, except Saturday. These ranged from painting, pool disco, killer pool, halloween party to trips to Rancho Grande and the Maze. Both the Bugs Bunny club reps and the Wavelength staff were more than helpful and very friendly.
Adult entertainment was more laid back - a show each night that was usually pretty good, but no late disco or anything like that (suited us !). Service at the bars was very good, with no real queueing.
The pools were HUGE, and never too busy. Always managed to get set up, even fairly late in the day, and we never even made it to the saltwater pools across the road.
This is an excellent hotel for families. Wouldn't recommend it to couples looking for a lively holiday, but for families with kids - go for it.
