Just returned from 2 weeks spent at Lagotel. Can honestly say we all had a great time. Hotel is very clean and maids change towels and make up room everyday apart from Sunday. Room was a litte cramped for 4 - however i would reccommed booking a family room with seperate den as these looked much better than trying to all cram into one room.
The Hotel is located around a lake, just infront of a very large power station, which is a bit of an eyesore and can make some noise, however you tend not to notice after a while. Bar and reception staff can be a bit slow and rude at times - but we just laughed it off.
Food was fantastic and as a consequence the diet starts today! The kids clubs - wavelength (run by first choice) was brilliant and both my kids joined in several activities and outings. The hotel also has its own animation team which run daily activities for adults and children and are also well organised and fun.
I would visit this hotel again, but unlike several guests who we spoke too I would not go year on year, as I think the world has loads of places to see and just not enough time and money.

I have just returned from two weeks at this hotel. In general the hotel is very clean with excellent pools and the food was of a high standard. Location is not so good, very little to do if you are on foot. Just a few hundred metres away is an industrial plant of some type which pumps out a constant plume of pollution. Fortunately for most of the time we were there the wind took this away from the hotel!
Now for the bad news. The hotel markets itself as a family orientated hotel - beware. Family plus means that it caters for older teenagers and this is where the problems started. During our stay, 8 rooms were broken into, the hotel reception smashed up and bikes and cars vandalised in the hotel car park by a group of extremely foul mouthed (mainly Irish) teenage louts. Every night from about 10pm this gang of 20 or so ran riot around the hotel. The management were powerless to stop them although an extra two night time security guards were deployed after several dozen complaints from guests. The First Choice Reps were given no support from their tour company who in my opinion should have sent these families packing. A member of staff spoke to one of the parents about the behaviour of his son and was hit!!!
The parents were just older versions of the tearaway children.
The reps admitted that the mindless thugish behaviour had been going on for several weeks and as one group left another arrived.
Be warned if you have young children and want a family holiday think twice before staying at the Lagotel.

On arrival we were a little horrified to be met by what appeared to be a gang of hooligans, mostly Irish in reception. They appeared to be running the staff ragged and god only knows what the Spanish think of us if that is the impression they get.

We visited Lagotel for our first family holiday abroad, and we all had a really lovely time. We were there for a week on a self catering basis the apartment had enough room for us and was well presented with plenty of wardrobe space, the only down side was the kitchen as there were only 2 electric rings for you to cook on and they didn't work particularly well, so it is quite difficult to catering for yourself, we ended up eating out everyday. The supermarket on site was small but had everything you needed their hot baguettes were particularly good.
We didn't really use the hotel entertainment much as we found that the Cheers bar just down the road was much more fun, and had something for all of us there is a small amusement arcade located next to it for the children.
Although there was what appeared to be a power station near to the Lagotel we really didn't notice it at all during our stay.
A word of warning if you want to use the pools on the other side of the road, you must be prepared to que from around 9am if you want to get a sunbed, we didn't partake in this event but alot did, it provided us with some early morning entertainment.
We had no problems with mosquitos but there were a few people getting bitten when we were there although not badly. We only had one encounter with the problem teenagers in the evenings and that was on our last night while we were waiting for the coach, they were using the bikes to race around the car park and at one stage we saw a lad fall off because they were going far too fast and swinging them round, we did not rush to his aid, and luckily he was not injured.

There was 14 of us altogher and overall we had a brilliant time. The entertainment could've been better, but there was a couple of good things e.g Arnold Gumbucket (very funny) and the hypnotist.
Most of the time we headed to Cheers down the road which had entertainment for everyone.
The rooms were ok we had four altogether, which worked out fine, although one had ants in the wardrobe.
One bad thing was all the mossies, we all got eaten alive!!!!!
The reps were very helpful and a lot of fun.
Brad from Holiday Soccer School was very hot!!!!!!!!

We stayed for two weeks and never had any complaints with gangs of teenagers never saw any gangs causing any problems.
We were covered in bites after the second week I'm not sure if it was a lake or a swap outside the hotel.
Overall the holiday was lovely and would go there again. My two children loved it there and made lots of friends and never got bored.
The food was to die for lots of varied dishes put on half a stone.
Lots of space around the pool on other side of road never had a problem with sunbeds.

Just returned from 2 weeks in the Lagotel hotel and it was fantastic- the best hotel I have ever been too.
The rooms were clean.
Food was great every night good choice for children and adults.
There was activities in the day for kids and adults which was fun and at night there was a kids mini disco at 8:30 then at 9:30 it was bingo then at 10:00 it there was a different show put on every night by professionals and the entertainers who were fab (Jimmy, Vince, Danielle and Ilona)
Weather was great and the only downside was getting 32 mozzie bites.
All round 10 out of 10 and would love to go again next year.

I got off to a bad start on my holiday as i broke a bone on one of my first nights. When this happened the hotel staff were very helpful in assisting me with ice and advice on hospitals and doctors. The next morning we went to see our rep(Rachel) who was extremely helpful. Although she was busy doing activities for the older group (wavelength) she always made time for us and helped us over and above what any rep has done before in the past, we really appreciated it, and it made us feel like a weight was lifted off our shoulders. First Choice should credit themselves on their choice of reps!
The two wavelength reps, Gavin and Rachel were fantastic and all the kids seemed to idolise them including mine!!
The overall hotel was nice and had plenty of entertainment going on throughout the day and also every night.
We would definitely book again!!

Thouroughly enjoyed our stay, and have just booked again for next Summer.
Hotel was clean, perfectly located and the food was fantastic.
The entertainment wasn't brilliant, but drink enough and it doesn't matter.

Our large family room was very clean and included separate bedroom for the kids. The only thing wrong with the room it had two english channels on the TV, euro sport and CNN which got boring whilst waiting for the wife to do her hair each night.
The hotel was very clean and the food was good and varied.
The only thing I did not like much was the bacon and eggs in the morning, I think they were cooked in olive oil.
Well worth paying the 13 euros (which included 5 euro deposit to hire a safe) for piece of mind.
We all enjoyed the hotel pools and the staff arranged daily sports ie. water polo. There is a food outlet near the pool which offers very good for money and very tasty lunch time snacks. Other activities take place daily ie. archery, pistol shooting, rifle shooting, football, tennis, crazy golf etc. All activity staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy the jobs they all do.
The entertainment was hit and miss but on the friday the reps put on the show GREASE which was very good and they had a group singing temptation songs who were absolutely brilliant also.
The only reason I would not visit this hotel again is the mosquitos, most people seemed to have been bitten. Not that the bites cause a problem (unless you were unfortunate to swell up, we didn't) but they do get a bit itchy.
Also I do like to try different hotels and resorts. Overall a very enjoyable week, very good family hotel!!!!
