We will be going to the lagotel in july and this will our 3rd year there. The food was first class with a wide range for both adults and children, the whole of the hotel was spotless inside and out, the location is great with a lovely big lake at the entrance where both adults and children could fish(just remember your bread rolls)and out the back were great pools which were cleaned every night and a pool bar with a great range of snacks, the beach was only a 10-15 minute walk away but there is a bus put on by the hotel which is free. The staff r so friendly and polite and my kids had great fun with them as well as with the reps. There was loads of entertainment during the day and at night for both adults and children football comps, archery, shooting to name a few, at night it kicked of with a mini disco for kids and then the main entertainment which also got children involved.

Worst holiday we have ever had, had room broken into and safe door taken off within 3 hours of arrival. Everything was stolen, money, travellers cheques, driving licence, cameras, game boys.
Our party had all 4 of our rooms broken into,and these appeared to be the only rooms to be targeted (the words 'inside job' spring to mind). The ease in which you can literally push open doors and get into rooms is heart-breaking. To say nothing of the consruction of the safe. My son who had his first ever own room was so frightened he had to share with us for whole week,

We stayed at the Lagotel july 03 for two weeks half board.Our son who was 14 at the time made loads of friends and had plenty to with all the reps arranging 5 a side footie, rounder, water polo, volley ball etc:
The pool was great with plenty of sunbeds all round.
The food was excellent with plenty of chioce.
The hotel was light and spacious and very clean. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly.We have booked to go back this year in July 04 and are taking our son, my mum,our daughter and 5yr old grandson this time as we think they will love it as much as we did. We would recommend the Lagotel to any family.
The pool was great with plenty of sunbeds all round.

this is our ninth year going to the lagotel, the hotel is spotless the food is excellant with a wide choice of food for both adults and children. the hotel is location is in an ideal setting beside a lake which is great for both the adults and kids to go fishing. what can i say about the staff well one word "outstanding"
Both the holiday reps and entertainment staff are of the highest standard, it was a pleasure to spend two weeks with them.

I have been to the Lagotel 4 times, when i was 4, 5, 7 and last year when i was 13. I thought it was brilliant especially when I was younger as I could go to the kids clubs. They had games, colouring, pool fun and even a mini olympics.
The eveninig entertainment was great. There was a kids mini disco which the reps led early in the evening, then caborets later on.
The hotel room was clean and sheets and beds changed regularly. But don't leave a jar of jam in the room, the ants come.
I would ecommend this to families with children and would love to go back.

Hi ,just got back [02-07-04]from Lagotel Hotel very very clean, Spanish hotel staff 10/10, First choice staff 0/10 with the exception of Fabien, Pasqualy ,Rakel,and Patrica these four reps were excellent all the others with the exception of Keith were crap!
As had been said before only intrested in selling over priced trips etc etc.
The four Spanish reps couldn't do enough for us even saying goodbye to us at half past midnite during a show. Right if you are a family i would book a family room this is a five bedded room, more space,don't worry to much if you can't book a late checkout room as its cheaper to do it at the hotel 2 days before you leave.
As you can see we had 2 wks h/board food ok but got repetitive,kids could do with more choices i thought.
Beach 15 min walk away or you can take the courtesy bus,fantastic beach.
Maids cleaned our room everyday except Sunday.The main pool we thought was a bit cold but after you get in once you get acustomed to it,another pool on the other side with football pitch,crazy golf,basket ball,tennis loads to do.
We would definatly go again.

Excellent holiday. The Lagotel was a perfect base not too far from the superb beach. Rooms were clean and tidy. The food was good with lots of choices for both hot and cold. Hired a car on the web in the UK and when we got there we rang the company and they arranged for the car to be brought to and picked up from the hotel. Eldest enjoyed the kids club which was good as it gives you a break. Didn't go on any tours as it's cheaper to hire a car and go yourself. Trip to Caves of Drach would be about

The rooms were very large and clean and the staff very friendly. This hotel is geared more to children so great for families, would not recommend to couples who just want to relax.
Food in our view was awful, the restraunt smelt like the towels after they had been cleaned, we ended up eating out at the restraunts in town. There is a burger king though so that will keep the kids happy.
It is a bit of a walk into the town, but not too far and you walk over the lake which has some nice views. There is also a bus from the hotel which is free.
The entertainment was ok, mostly the same each night though, kids disco (you knew which song would be next ie the music man), then bingo, and then either entertainment or the reps would do somehting. there was a hypnotist though he was very good.
I would visit again when we have kids, but would stay in the apartments rather than half board its not worth paying for the food!

weve just come back from a fornight at lagotel and found it just ok the room could barely hold four of us especially as the children are 13 and 11. my daughters bed was a little camp put - me - up and was that uncomfortable that she ended up putting the mattress on the floor to sleep.
The food was ok everything was covered in grease at breakfast or in sauce at night which stopped you seeing exactly what you were eating.
The entertainment was good there was something on everynight but the animation team were the funniest (sometimes without trying ) the best show was the hypnotist which had us all laughing
The pool was so cold it took youre breathe away
we didnt have any problem with the mossies but we took garlic tablets two weeks before we went away which probably helped
also have read on this site that the hotel were giving vouchers in place of the eco tax but we didnt receive any thing.
found the hotel expensive especially as we found a supermarket down the road which was half the price
enjoyed the cheers pub and the swan down near the beach
had a good holiday probably wouldnt go back to lagotel but dont let us put you off
only had one night where the noise was bad and my hubby rang down to complain

i dont often get moved to tears by something but my holiday at the lagotel was the holiday of my life. i went in august 2001, and even though there wasnt air con in our room it couldnt stop the fun. its a real family first hotel with so many activities you dont have time to sunbathe! yeah the entertainment is cheesy but it keeps the kids entertained and gives you a good laugh! i was only 14 so could be included as one of the "rowdy teenagers" but we honestly had no intentions of being noisy and when we sat in reception if things got too rowdy we were always moved outside onto the volleyball court (the cool hangout place!) to ensure guests wouldnt be woken. i ate in the hotel every morning and every night and couldnt fault the food, even all my friends on s.c came and ate with me! i would live there if i could, and my holiday this year in magalluf was the holiday from hell compaired to last year. give me mini discos to nightclubs anyday! the pool was clean and uncrowded, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the toilets in the reception are so clean you could eat off the floor of them, the only problem is they dont offer 2 month holidays there. if i wanted to be a holiday rep thats where id be one. so close to perfection it was unbearable. if you have to go to one hotel this year make sure the lagotel is your choice, i can guarantee youll have an amazing time, i know i did!
