Do not leave any items outside to dry as they will be stolen by local thieves who are targeting hotel due to ease of access and lack of security.

We stayed in the resort of Cala'n Forcat, and found it to be a little on the quiet side but this was ok as we did not want busy nightlife on the door stop, but the hotel had good evening entertainment.

Nice and quiet and chilled, most of the facilities were closing up towards the end of our week though it was the 26th Octber. No fresh milk anywhere.

We loved the quietness, felt the kids were safe and felt relaxed ourselves. Plenty of play areas for them suitable for their ages 5 and 7.

Cuitedella is lovely and worth a visit on the cramped bus. Stops near burger-king kiosk.

Get kids flamenco outfits/football shirts here rather than at resort we saved 13euros on each item.

Cala' Forcat beach consists of two small areas of sand, and because there are a large number of visitors, platforms have been built, together with a series of communicating bridges allows more sunbathing areas and lovely views.

Cala en Blanes beach is about 15 mins walk from the Talayot apts. This has a snack bar on one side and one at the back of the beach too, providing drinks ice creams and snacks. There are also some sunbathing platforms to the right hand side. There are also a number of small boats moored on this side.

Both beaches have shallow water to walk in and do not get deep for several metres, therefore, providing a safe environment for small children to paddle.

There are many restaurants, generally serving similar food. Food was not expensive, neither were drinks. The resort has a more english feel to it.

Not having a car, we relied on the local buses. They are fairly regular in to Cuitadella, and from there you can get connections to Mahon, Cala'n Bosch, Cala Galdana, Cala Blanca, Cala Morell and other resorts.

Resort is ideal for young families. All restaurants and shops we visited were geared up for buggies, with ramp access in all. Buggies could wander round shops without knocking things over! The Spanish were very friendly with the kids, they got free lollies and toys whenever we visited some restaurants. Recommended restaurants are L’Ancora, Haiti and Dragon Chinese. Supermarkets were well stocked with English/recognised brands. Note – take enough nappy bags with you, my 2 daughters had diahorrea all holiday and we needed more but couldn’t find any! Beaches were very small, get there early for a spot. Bouncy castles and rides all over the place, works out expensive. Frankies Bar (near L’Ancora restaurant) and next door to the Black Horse English pub offers free use of bouncy castle when buying drinks. Do shop around for best prices, especially for alcohol (eg schnapps). We found the Morrisons store (turn right at John Travolta statue) was the cheapest. Buses seemed regular to Cuidadela but because of my two kids being poorly, didn’t experience any other resort unfortunately. Nice enough place, would recommend for young families, couples definitely in the minority!

The resort is built around children and is great for the younger ones. Lots of bouncy castles and play areas.

Cala'n Forcat has every thing apart from a good beach, but the bus service to other resorts is superb.there is a good choice of restaurants (not gourmet food but o.k.). You could eat somewhere different every night, and if you did go back somewhere you were greeted like a regular. there is a square with about 5 or 6 bars round it & a central stage, one or two good tribute acts (Robbie & the temptations got the place going) all in all something for every one young or old

However we would go back to Menorca again the people were friendly, the food was fabulous especially Castaway for brekkie and Las Brissas for an evening meal,we could not fault the resort at all. Loads to do for the kids and the beaches were lovely though very small but quaint, we would definately go back but through a different tour operator and definately another hotel.

Beaches were too far away and too small. Calan Forcat beach was dirty. Calan Blanes charged too much for sunbed hire. Spanish teenagers roaming around with knives some nights, they came to Talayot and slashed lilos left in the pool. Plenty of restaurants to chose from.
