This was a very nice place to stay.

Staff and lifeguard all very friendly.

Kettle, toaster, micro wave etc in the room and a safety box-all free of charge, hire fans though.

Swimming pools are really nice, big and clean, 3 adult pools, and 2 large kiddies pools, and an outdoor spa, bowling there too.

The shop next door was a bit expensive, but eh we only needed basic as we ate out every evening. We went all inclusive a couple of times and we have no complaints there either.

This was supposed to be a special holiday for us as we had saved for a long time. When we arrived at the hotel we were left out side to find reception ourselves.

All seemed well, dinner seemed nice on the night it weren't until a couple days later we realised our lunch would be the left over food from the night before but with a bit of sauce over the top. We're told they work on a two week food rota but in the two weeks we were there we never once saw any different food. The food was at times under cooked. Also didnt cater for children. All this meant on nurmous occasions we had to eat out. (being all inclusive this should not of happened).

Through out the day we had a hour in the afternoon were the food was free which had a limited selection and yet again didnt taste very nice. We had to pay for ice creams and other snacks.

When booking the holiday we stipulated we wanted entertainment of an evening and through the day for children as there were only three of us.This was non-exsistant.

Hotel staff seemed very nice and cheerful.

Cleaners came regulary but we only had our sheets changed once. Due to building works around three sides of the complex Left a constant layer of dust over everything!! You would get out of the shower and still feel dirty. We were informed prior to the holiday there maybe a few buildings works that may not have even started but by the looks of it they were started at least last year.

The hotel was at least 15min walk from the town and to get to the beach or any where else we had to get a cab.

This was supposed to be an upgrade to the hotel we had orginally booked this definately wasn't!!! This is advertised as all inclusive but is actually full board! At the end of our holiday the JMC onsite rep informed us of this.

What a lovely place to stay, we have stayed at quite a few complexes before but this was the best.

Brand new bowling alley opened in complex.

Staff very helpful, place very clean and loads of sunbeds for everyone! No need to get up early to put towels out. Total of 5 pools.

I can't believe I just read some people moaning about it! You cannot see the building works from inside the complex and you can only hear it if you listen really hard.

Next year it will be even better as new water park will be opening across the road.

Only thing is the entertainment was not appeallng but the town centre is a short walk and the taxis are so cheap.

Will be coming back next year.

This holiday was meant to be a 50th birthday present. Each morning we woke at 7.40am due to the switching on of the generator used to power the construction work directly across from our apartment. This machine ran until sundown. My 8 year old daughter could learn a lot on construction from viewing the scene from our window. JCBs, diggers, fork lifts, concrete mixers, drilling machines, grinders fabrication equipment, empty cable tubes, dust, bricks, wire, rubble - we could see the lot.

Instead of grass the gardens were covered in ground up lava! Terrible for the foot and for children. It was like walking on hard breakfast cereal. Sharp and dangerous. The small area of grass was out of bounds behind "Do not stand on grass" signs. Hardly a family friendly complex.

My daughter was refused and ice-cream by staff and told she had to pay for one. When she returned with the money, then told she could not buy one there.

When I returned to Dundee I found that the supermarket and the hotel had both added to my credit card bill for the same transaction of 41.99 Euros! Expensive self-catering.

I had to collect my own glasses to get a pint.

Would have had to pay for watching TV and ironing clothes.

No entertainment. We ate at the la carte restaurant. One day, when we did not eat there, a an organ player provided live music in the la carte restuarant with no one there and downstairs sat crowded around the bar and buffets people seking entertainment.

I have sent a 55 minute video of the construction and health and safety issues and a 25 page report regarding the management of this holiday to JMC.

Stayed here in Aug 2004. Thomson downgraded us from 2 bed apartment to one bed with only 5 days notice before holiday. On arrival we were left outside by the bus and kept waiting about 3 hours before we gained access to our apartment. When we did we found that the accommodation needed cleaning and there were several items broken (curtain rail, fridge, chest of drawers, safe). Staff did not seem interested in our problems and it was only after speaking to the Thomson rep did things get put right. Well done to her!

Supermarket next door very expensive and very limited choice.

There was nothing that interested us in the entertainment on site.

Location is okay if you don't mind a walk of about 15 to 20 mins into town. Taxis are very easy to find for return journey and only cost a couple of euros. We hired a car for the week which proved invaluable as we toured the island on a couple of days. Parking on site not a problem.

Loads of building working going on around the apartments with associated noise (drilling etc) and dust. The much talked about waterpark is right on the doorstep of the Oasis Papagayo but this was still not open when we were there.

Our kids loved the pool area but didn't use this very much as the National park beaches are wonderful.

Although we were self catering we did look at the menus in the site restaurants. The so-called al a carte had very limited choice and I would describe it as a cafe rather than a restaurant. We ate in town most nights, avoid the chinese/pizza/irish pubs on the way through town and head to the harbour area where you'll find "locals" restaurants with fine fish and meat on the menu.

Facilities in the apartment consist of a TV (you have to pay to use it), fridge, kettle, toaster, 2 ring hob. The bathroom was clean and reasonably well maintained. There is a safe but again you have to pay extra to use it.

The Oasis Pagagayo does not deserve the rating that Thomson gives it and I think that it is over priced.

We loved the town/island and have booked to go back next year when we'll be staying in a villa over looking the national park. We have arranged this directly with the villa owner and have booked scheduled flights. We get an extra week with much better accomodation for more or less the same money!

Two weeks Oasis Papagayo. Just dont go there. Spend your money on a new car.

The place is a building site and as for the food, I wont even go there with that one.

My family and I stayed at this complex July, 2004.
It was a 20 minute walk down to the main centre.
Surroundings were nice around apartments. Too noisy with building work nearby. Entertainment was nil and spent every night down town. A la Carte restaurant on site was very good. Reception staff very helpful.

THe apartments at first seemed nice, there was a bit of a sewage smell, I eventually traced to duff sink drain, and sorted. Pool area okay. The complex was a mix of self-catering and all-inclusive. We were self catering, I'm glad. The buffet dinner was very poor for the same price in the town center you could get an excellent meal.

There was no entertainment, of the three pool tables we were lucky if one worked. Even the coffee tasted like the cheapest of the cheap. The staff were okay. Okay as a base but not if you have kids that want entertainment.
