Location
The hotel itself is about half an hours bus drive from the airport and is situated in a new part of the town, which is undergoing lots of building work. The advantage for us as a family was that the area was very quiet.
We stayed in a 2 bedroomed apartment, which was lovely and clean and the bathroom was huge!! Main service is 5 times a week, with the towels changed about 3 times and the bed linen once during that time. The maid's don't spend very long in the apartments so apart from changing towels/sheets and remaking the beds, they don't do much cleaning or even sweeping the floors from what I could tell.
The hotel has 4 swimming pools and these were the biggest at any apartments we've previously stayed. The water in the pools was freezing on the first day but as the weather heated up so did the pool and it was lovely to be able to have a swim in the main pool without tripping over people, due to the size. My youngest son spent most of his time in the childrens pool, and had a great time.
The kids club was well oganised and the reps were great. The hotel has its own entertainer too and he seemed to share the daytime and night time activities with the Thomson reps. There was a mini disco every evening and then various other nightly shows which we didn't tend to stay up for.
We stayed here on a half board basis and the food was very nice. There was plenty to choose from and it seemed like we made the right choice as the walk into town every night for dinner may have been too much for the children.
I would definitely stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone holidaying with young children as there was plenty to keep them busy during the day and in the evenings.
Also, there was a vast amount of sunbeds and there was none of the usual nonsense of having to reserve a towel on a bed by the pool to have any chance of securing a spot.
I noticed that you could hire videos and playstations from reception if things got very bad!!!
The complex itself is like a maze and it took a day or so to figure out where everything was but all in all we had a great time.................
Highly recommended.

The room wasn't cleaned each day the maid came in. The apartments were too far away from anywhere, too much building going on around. No entertainment for couples. Not worth the

Appartments are lovely and spacious and clean upon arrival.
Kitchen includes a fridge with small feezer section, microwace, kettle, toaster and 2 hob rings.Plenty of pots and pans etc.
Our only problem was the maid service which was by far the worst we have ever experianced not a single thing was cleaned.Towels only changed once, bed linen not changed at all.Floors were filthy not swept or mopped etc.
There is no proper entertainment as such. But there is a lovely pub and bowling alley.
The appartments are a good twenty mins from resort centre.
There is a fantastic brand new waterpark located opposit the complex.
All in all we had a great holiday even it was freezing for most of the week.

The hotel grounds were nice and clean but apartment only had sheets changed once in first week. Second week sheets and towells changed twice. The cleaner cleaned every other day.
Bath was not cleaned on one occasion. Dust under beds stayed there for whole two weeks. No plug in bathroom. When we got one the plug was too small for bath. Phone did not work in apartment on second week. Complained but nothing changed.
Electric went off two nights running. First night for two hours second night for 1 hour. 8am next morning electric went off again for an hour for routine maintenance although we were not told of this in advance.
Cooked breakfast got ruined. Water power also dissapeared at these times.
Hired tv for one week from reception which was 30 euros. TV chanels mostly all German but did have sports, film, cartoon and news channel in English. No electric meant no TV so lost films we were in middle of watching when power went off.
The apartment was a good 10 minute walk from reception and when the gates were locked which they were most of the time it was a 15 minute walk to get to the car.No good if you have walking difficulties. It seemed a long route when carring shopping back.
We had a cement mixer outside our apartment window which would start rolling at 7 am on a few mornings as the childrens bit and water garden is still being built.
Hotel entertainment was very limited and not very good. Had to hire safe deposit box which is quite nomal which was 10 euros per week. no toaster in kitchen. 2 rings and a microwave available.Did have a tin opener and cork screw, plenty of sauce pans but no microwave wear at all. No freezer compatment in fridge. Bought shopping from super market on the complex but had to return because over charged by 5 euros.
Telephone (payphone) on complex was out of order as was pool tables. Hotel nicely landscaped and pools lovely did not have to pay for sunbeds round the pool. bowling alley on complex although i did not use it. The hotel is abot 20 minutes walk from town centre but luckily we had a hire car. Staff quite friendly even if not very helpful at times.

We were very pleased when we got Oasis Papagayo, although the rep said "it has only been open 4 weeks" Obviously he was mistaken there (or simply lied) as looking at this website it must have been open at least 2 years !
We were very lucky with the weather and it was 25 C every day.
Never ate in the complex so can't comment on food. We found a superb restaurant called "la Tasca" which we ate in every night!
Fabulous pools, 5 in all, and although there was some building around the complex this did not detract from the overall holiday.
Very helpful hotel staff and the beaches are wonderful.
Not bad for

Our apartments were very clean on arrival and the regular maid service meant we had clean towels and beds almost every day.
The facilities were OK, although to be honest we ate out most nights, who wants to cook on holiday? My only gripe with the apartments would be that the beds are a bit hard and the walls VERY thin.
The Oasis Papagayo is about a 10 - 15 minute walk from the resort centre, as we are all under 33 this wasn't a problem for us, although after a few heavy nights we found ourselves getting a taxi back. (Under 2 euros!)
I would say the Oasis Papagayo is great for families as it has lovely clean apartments; a selection of four very clean pools and is far enough away from the resort centre to have some peace and quiet at night.
I can't really comment on the entertainment in the evenings as we mainly went into town and there were no children in our group, but I imagine during the busier summer season, it's lively enough.
We dined in two restaurants at the Oasis, and on both occasions the food was satisfactory, however unless I had small children I would opt out of the all inclusive package due to there being a huge variety of good restaurants in the resort centre.
There was building work going on around the complex, but we didn't find this a problem as we couldn't see or hear it until we were on the walk to the resort centre and even then it didn't bother us.
The supermarket on site is a little more expensive than some of the ones in the resort centre, but the taxis are so cheap, that again, this didn't prove to be an issue for us.
If you are looking for The Ritz, then the Oasis Papagayo is not for you. If however you want clean accommodation, with plenty of pools, a couple of nice bars and a selection of restaurants then the Oasis Papagayo is the ideal place. We are hoping to return someday.

Satellite TV very bad system adult channel is the next channel to the cartoon channel. My 4 and 7 yr olds turned the channel over and saw a couple performing a sex act which would shock anyone. I just hope in time they will forget.
Very nice complex and pool area we booked it because it said it had a heated pool we couldn't decide which pool was heated because all were too cold to go in.
