Rooms in Main Hotel have more breeze and sea view. They are also closer to the main facilities
Didn't bother with the themed restaurant, the normal one was excellent.

Correlejo is a lovely resort and is fairly clean. The only major thing was the amount of dog muck on the paths - just watch where you're stepping!! The resort hasn't been home to the tourist industry for very long so there is still a lot of building work being done, as you first enter the resort you will see a lot of cranes but don't let this put you off. On the main street there are many places to get something to eat from english bars, chinese, indian, thai and traditional spanish. Would definately recommend Chablis Bar - excellent food (try the chablis chicken) and the staff are very friendly.
The beaches in Correlejo around the harbour are sandy and safe for swimming but for a real treat you have to visit Olivia Beach near the two big Riu hotels. You can catch the number 6 bus from the bus station right to the beach and all it costs is 1 euro per person each way. Alternatively you can get a taxi for about 5 euro 50. The beach is amazing and one of the best I have ever seen. You can hire sunbeds and parasols - 3 euros for each item. The beach has lovely golden sand and the sea is crystal clear - perfect for snorkelling we saw loads of fish.
Overall we had an excellent time here and wouldn't hesitate in returning!

this resort is a must for anyone wanting a relaxing way to wind away the hot days. if you are wanting an all action holiday then go somewhere else. this place is so relaxing, from walking down the beach to the harbour or walking along to flag beach and the sand dunes life just seems to drift along. what can you say that hasn't already been said apart from if you want the closet thing to utopia this is it. from ariving to leaving it is so peaceful. if you have been to spain or anywhere else you know the roads can be hazzardous, not here, when you stand at any of the thousands of road crossings in the resort read this (they actually stop).
the restaurants and food are very good and good value for money. we ate out every night and didn't spend over 45 euros for the five of us. the only problem we had with the restaurants was the amount of touts on the streets.(they are a pain in the neck). if you like chinese food the try slow boat 2, be careful as youe taste buds might not be used to food so nice. if you want a nice quiet drink at the end of the day one of the best places we found was The Royal Oak, no loud music, no screaming karaoke like most of the other bars. the landlord and landlady (alan and karen) are so pleasant and helpful. a nice way to spend a night out. thursday nights cheap bear (euro off pints and shorts) nto to be sniffed at.
overall this resort is superb, we've just come back and are already looking to book for next year.
to quote arnie "we'll be back"

This has been my second vist to corralejo and it has expanded a lot since I was last there in 1994. The resort is mainly based one main street although plenty of restaurants can be found down by the marina and along the sea front. There are plenty of good reasonably priced reastaurants in Corralejo but we would recommend the Steak House opposite Waikiki and a 'Parilla Grill-Poco Loco'on the main strip in particular. We only discovered this on our second to last nite but it was that good we returned there for our final evening (as it seemed did half the resort!!).

Nightlife here is pretty relaxed although there are a good mix of bars in the resort, icluding 'british pubs', sports bars and those who pride themselves on no music, no televisions and in particular, NO karaoke!!

Although I spent most of my time soaking up the canarian sunshine varuios trips were available including a ferry crossing to neighbouring Lanzarote which was only 20 minutes away.

Overall, Corralejo itself is a good family or couple resort but would perhaps not suit young single sex groups as nightclubs were few and far between! The resort is predominantly flat so would also be suitable for those with walking difficulties.

I have been to Fuerte. three times now and wouldn't hesitate to go back. The hot weather, cool breeze, pure white sand and clear sea make it an ideal choice whatever time of year you choose to go.

Great resort not to busy only gripe is the amount of people trying to get you in their restaurants, every night we would go back to our apartments with a handful of menus great at first really annoying after a few days.
The waikiki beach is great for kids it was never crowded while we were there, shops very close if you need a drink or anything.
Went to oliva beach and all i can say is WOW!!!! the sand dunes were unreal it was like walking in the middle of a desert you could just pick your spot on the beach and sit alone. Just be careful some people like to strip off there and my kids thought it was hilarious i couldnt stop them sniggering.
We would definatly go back to corralejo again if anything just to visit the dunes again.

The resort of correlejo is a good choice if you are looking for good shops, beaches and afair choice of entertainment although the best beaches are on the outskirts of town by the riu hotels. We would return here again after trying the far south of the island as the beaches there are unequalled anywhere in europe.

Food & Drink
There were so many fab bars it would be impossible to tell you about any one in particular to eat. The touts on the front are very annoying especially halfway through your hol, and even more so when you have had seven days twice a day of leaflets being thrussed into your hand.
The beach side restauarants are probs your best bet, and just behind them they play live music a couple of nights a week, well worth a look, great atmosphere while your scoffing. Fish is a real sepcialitity and there was no real place i could say we had a bad meal. it was all lovely. In one place on the square by the live muscician they cook it in fornt of you in gas burners.
Only downside was that they stop serving at about 10.30pm so be sure to eat first cause otherwise the only option you have left is a rather dodgy kebab shop in the main bar square above the main street, tasty when your drunk, not so tasty when you aint!

Entertainment.
Fester bar is very funny if your drunk, DJ who does a little turn to each song, adult humour but very very funny. He is just upstairs towards the bottom of the main street, just after the grill house. The buddah club is up there too, very very good spanish style nightclub a bit more for the locals than us tourists but open till 6am!
There is also a bar called Imagine, plays live acustic music every night, try to catch eric and ronnie, if you like beatles, stereophonics type of music you will be heaven. They are brilliant and the whole place has a great atmosphere.
Despite wot someone else has said on this site, i went to Sadies drag show, just off the main street, and thought it was fab! i have never laughed out loud and whooped so much at anyone before. She erm he used to work at the big drag place in blackpool. Very freidnly club. Great show. Its true there is no air conditioning but you really dont care, go there to let your hair down and just enjoy the show.he came to the bar area for drinks afterwards and is genuinily pleased when he knows you have enjoyed his performace. We went there for our last night and aparently MOnday is the night to go.
Monday is the equivilent to a sat night over there, whole place is packed, get out early to get a good table at a restaurant cause otheriwse you are back to the old kebabe house.

Beach
I thought the beaches were great, as in clean and hot and you really do appreciate the wind. The main thing here is windsurfing and thats about it. No banan boat, no jet skies other than one run by a greedy german, who charges wot e likes cause he has no competition and he is hardly ever there! Very annoying.

Fun stuff.
The best thing i did on this hol was a four hour buggy treck! as you head down the main street towards the beach on the left you will see about four buggy's parked up offering tours. Go to the last ones near the surf shop, the red buggies with the safety cages over them. we payed the equivilent of £20 each for one buggy for four hours. You take the route over the volcano, across the sand dunes and then right over to the west of the island, you can see the old watch towers and get to stop for drink and stuff on the way. Dont wear white and put some shorts on cause on the way you get the choice to go cak the way you came or over the coast line, which really is right along the coast. The sea is awesome and the beaches are pure white sand. The guide lets you stop at all the best spots and the sea was so clear we went for a paddle. Watch out tho the waves are huge! Great Great Trip out. and well worth the money. The guide speaks good english and tells you all about the stuff on the way across.
The water park is well worth a look out for a bit of a day , great for kids, take your sun cream bit of a heat trap!!

i came to this resort 10 years ago and it has grown considerably in that time. it is still a nice place to stay but is getting a bit big and loosing its character. the building work is substantial but not too imposing or noisey.
give it 2-3 years and looks like it should all be finished and the resort will benefit i think.
there is a water park on the outskirts next to where a market is held. we didnt go and it only looked small.
the resort was as clean as any i had been to but people dont clean up after their dogs which is annoying!
there are plenty of shops but nothing is for free and the jewellery shops are expensive as are the camera shops.
there are plenty of nice places to eat. Many on the main road are ok but certainly nothing special.
we ate mostly in the harbour, music square old town area. this had much more atmosphere and the food and service was much better even if a little more expensive but you pay for what you get.
the music square is set at the bottom of the main street next to the port and walk around the sea front to the harbour is much nicer than that along the main road.
the best meals we had were at the poco loco grill that was indoor with aircon and silver service waiters all very smart, helpful and great food. expensive but worth the treat. the second was at the flambe place on market square you will see the man at the flambe setting fire to himself (almost) There is entertainment every night in the square with local singers, bands and buskers which starts around 8pm and is lovely. the waiters are all friendly and love kids. There are free to run around in the square but people walk through it and you have to watch them.definitelyu recommend this area we ate here almost every night.
the supermarkets are quite cheap. Nettos are great and there is a spar down some steep stairs next to a shopping area with the clock tower on it. here is where to get the cheapest sun cream. but spars own at 5 euro a bottle for factor 50 which we used on our son and he didnt burn once. much better than the big brand names that are just as expensive as at home!
For those of you staying near the port there is a really cheap supermarket called Hiper Dino that all the locals used near to the square with a windmill on it. it is in the old part of town which is more residential but anyone will tell you where it is.
!Warning! all those that needs swim nappies for babies take your own as no one sells them in the resort. Our son had to go commando for a week and we were lucky but you have been warned!!
car hire is easy we used Hernandez and had a corsa with aircon and child seat for 110 euro for 5 days which was the cheapest all the others were 140 - 150 euros for the same thing. it was located on a street corner on the left hand side as you walk towards the harbour about 1/2 way down the main road next to a large chinese restuarant. Definitely the cheapest around as there are only about 4 to choose from.
lots of chemist and doctors and an ambulance station nearby so no worries there.
The beaches are ok in the main area but if you feel like a good walk or bike ride the sand dunes are lovely and beaches about 1-2 miles along the coast are much better. They are smaller and still have life gaurds. you could get a taxi and arrange to be picked up later. you would have to be fit to walk it!!
There are lots of nudist beaches and they all inter mingle so dont be shocked if the person next to you has an all over tan! but the beaches are mainly quiet and lovely.
For those with wheel chairs or buggies good access all over and a cycle route all over the island. the cars will stop for you on the crossing so the roads are safe at night.]
the taxis are cheap and plentiful so no worries if you dont want to walk.
