Location
Stayed on the top floor and only 3 lifts that hold max 4 people, spent most of time queing for lift.
Food not very good and samey, restaurant always packed and have to queue for all meals. Was told this hotel was 4 star(yes if the stars went up to 7 maybe).
If you want to do trips then DO NOT book through Reps as local Bus Service fab. Entertainment RUBBISH. Would definitely not return.

The hotel food was very average catering a lot for fish and veal lovers! There was a queue every day to get into the dining room.
Hotel staff were very friendly in places yet not so in others.
The entertainment was average some excellent and some poor.
I would not visit this hotel again. It does not come up to 4 star standard and was very noisy. The walls are very thin and you can even hear tye next door snoring and going to the toilet. I complained on 2 separate occasions with regards to the noise. If you like your sleep avoid this hotel unless you own very good earplugs. My mother and I stayed for a week and were disturbed every night by noise and we were on the 1st floor.
The lifts are very poor, slow, not big enough.

Went for a week in October with friends we had met the previous year at the H10 Playa in Gran Canaria. The holiday got off to a bad start with the service we received from the reception staff. (no porterage and terrible attitudes. The rooms were in need of modernisation (laminate floors was a first for me).
Air conditioning very poor/ had to pay for fridge / safe etc. Food was OK all though you had to battle with flies on some of the dishes.
I am honestly not one to moan but its worth paying a little more and going to the H10 Playa (just up the road) which is a true 5 star hotel and the rooms / service are amazing.

The rooms were large enough, especially for me being on my own. The rooms were cleaned daily and we never experienced any problems. Bed linen was changed around every 2/3 days and towels were changed whenever you asked. We kept one of our rooms on until 6pm for a late check-out and our towels were changed that day too.
The food in the restaurant was nice, there was only one night where my mum struggled to find something she liked. There are lots of fish dishes though, and veal features a lot on the menu. That being said, there was plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner. I'd recommend the pancakes at breakfast!
The restaurant is busy at peak times, which is to be expected, but it's extremely well organised. You may need to queue to be seated for breakfast and dinner, but we only ever waited for 5 minutes at most. Everyone tends to wait to be seated by the waiters, however, some German all-inclusive guests walk past the queue and find seats for themselves - the hotel can't really control that but it is frustrating. It only happened when we were queuing a couple of times.
The hotel is near to the Yumbo, Kasbah and Gran Chapparal centres and is in a nice area. The only criticism about the location is the noise from the outdoor entertainment at a neighbouring hotel for German guests - try to avoid sitting on your balcony when they are having a karaoke, day or night!
I can't really comment on the entertainment in the hotel itself as we didn't go to any of the shows. However, the daytime animation team were well organised, and what we heard of the shows and the music in the piano bar it was okay.
Our only real criticism of the hotel was the lifts. Although there are 3 lifts, they are small and were really busy when there were new arrivals and at mealtimes. While you expect this, there's no need for some of the more ignorant guests (not British) to elbow you out of the way to get into the lift before you, especially when they arrived to wait a good 5 minutes after you - my mum was really lucky not to be injured in her encounter with a German "gentleman" who'd forgotten his manners!
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Some other guests commented to us that they felt it wasn't a 4-star hotel, and that it can't be compared to other Thomson Platinum hotels, but we enjoyed it.
We would visit the hotel again, but we'd prefer to visit one of the Princess hotels elsewhere - we've visited Gran Canaria 4 times now, both on family and friends holidays, and we all agree we'll be reluctant to visit again. It's personal decision against the resort/island and not the hotel.

The food was good and you did have lots to choose from the buffet.
The hotel was kept very clean and had an army of staff to ensure this. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The entertainment was good, especially for young families.
The only negative thing I would say was you had to get up at 8am each morning and rush down to poolside to get a sunbed with parasol, but we all know why that is!!
I would visit this hotel again. Full marks for this one.

Lovely pool area. Hotel entertainment very good for young children. Min club etc, plus entertainment put on during the day.
A good position. A little walk to the beach. About a 10 minute walk from the Jumbo Centre, worth a visit and about a 5 minutes walk from the Kasbah.
I found the food average. I am not a fussy person, only on a couple of occassions I did not like the selection offered.
The only negative points were that if you wished to get a sunbed in a particular position 8am would be the time to set your alarm. Also for the size of the hotel there were only 3 very small lifts. This was a bit difficult when bringing your luggage down. Not all would fit in, with everybody as well.
Definitely worth a visit. Would go back again.

Upon arrival I was dissapointed with the hotel as it is dated and shabby.
Food was ok but almost every night was the same so it became boring very quickly.
To ensure a sun lounger getting up early is essential as they go very quickly but be careful with the parasols as some are in dire need of replacement and have sharp edges sticking out.
Cleaners worked very hard but whilst doing the last checks of the room before I left I looked under the bed to check if I had forgot anything to find lots of much and a pair of shoes which weren't even mine!!!!
The entertainment was also poor. The daytime staff seemed to have a 'dont care' attitude and evening entertainment was just cheesy.
Ultimately I would not go back to this hotel and possibly not Gran Canaria as even though we went in August it was cloudy and rarely hot.

Was very grand from the front entrance and the lobby and bars are excellent something for everyone the food was very good depending on what time you eat you may have to queue at the dining room for a few moments but are quickly taken in to your table.
Tthe pool area is enormous but you still have to rise at 8a.m. to secure your bed but we never found a day where we could'nt get one. Fashion shows around the pool twice a week are very pleasant plenty for the kids too. The rooms were a bit dated but clean linen and towels were changed daily, the staff are very helpful although maids do tend to start cleaning just after 8a.m. which we found a bit early but then again it is such a big hotel they probably have to.
Outside the hotel their is plenty to do loads of centres and the beach is within walking distance bearing in mind it is all down hill might need a taxi to get back up it.
Do go to Roma Itialano a lovely restuarant at the centre great acts on every night we found the hotel entertainment very good but did wander outside it now and again to see what else was on offer also go to Garbo's show well worth the money it's a Sinatra theme this year so if you are into the old crooner you will love it. Also visit Sioux City we had a right laugh here cowboy town with bbq and free drink all night good show and head for the saloon after it great irish singer does a turn for an hour great singalong but do wear sensible shoes as its sandy ground.
We are thinking of going back to this hotel soon as we loved it, could'nt find a fault with it but beware we went August very very hot! We are looking forward to returning to Gran Canaria and it is nice to find somewhere where you feel at home and this hotel does exactly that.
Great Hotel, Great Food, Great Staff, Great Location -what more can you ask for a terrific hotel.

Everything about the location, staff etc was superb.
The entertainment was a bit naff but ok for families we went out every night till 4am instead. Yumbo centre is a brilliant place to be entertained.
Food was an excellent buffet but got bored with it sometimes so just went out for a steak.
Only downside really was the lifts there are only 3 and you can go up and down for ages without reaching your floor or stand 10 mins to get on, so best to take the stairs. Also the hotel echoes a lot and the sound of someone moving a chair goes through all rooms so if you want to sleep well take earplugs!
Overall an excellent holiday.

Food was excellent-compliments to the chef. Hardly ever had to wait more than two min. to be escorted to our table in the restaurant.
Hotel location is ideal as a base to explore this lively resort. The Kasbba and Chaparrals centres are only a short walk away.
Recommend the use of the local bus service (bus stop outside hotel)most buses have air conditioning and are cheap ,had a very nice trip to Puerto Mogan (3.30 euros)returned by ferry via Puerto Rico(4.50 euros)and then completed the journey back to Playa del Ingles by bus (2.15 euros),this would have cost an arm and a leg through the reps.
Hotel staff were all very friendly and obliging.
The resident entertainment that performed on the outside patio were very poor but there was occasionally some very good guest entertainers performing.Nicky Collins who entertained in the piano bar was ok,as was the happy hour 17.00-18.00.
There is a nice pool in this hotel with plenty of sunbeds available all day but you had to be up at the crack of dawn to get one with a brolly.
The only down side to this hotel was the size and number of elevators(3 very small lifts) that it had.
There was also very little variety of food available in the snack bar- pizza's and toasties.
